IslandEagle's post in 2-deep to be released later today was marked as the answer
Thank you for stating the obvious in contrast to the conspiracy theorists.
Our problem is not McNulty, but the fact that his competition has just not stepped up to the level needed.
Way back in the dayswhen I was a child going to Memorial Stadium in Austin, UT had a QB named
Mike Cotton who was about as mediocre as you could expect for that level.....but he didn't make
mistakes and played within his limits and gave the Horns several winning seasons.
Even under Royal, they would go with a QB that at least would give his teammates a chance to win a
game by not screwing up big time.
Yes, I wish we had a "star", but unless Smith can walk on water, I do not see much other option this year.

IslandEagle's post in Tropical Storm Karen was marked as the answer
The storm is projected as of 4 pm to be just south of New Orleans on Saturday morning. Though the center of the system will probably pass to the east, I would be very surprised if the game goes on as scheduled. I think the emergency managers will err on the side of caution. The storm is looking fairly ragged at 4 pm, CDT with part of the circulation exposed because of southwest wind shear, which will increase as it gets closer to landfall and inhibit intensification further. Still, I know how cautious EM people are (and have to be) and so I wouldn't be surprised to see cancellation. In any case, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now trying to make the decision.....its a no win situation for them.
