I know someone who just moved to the Denton area. They want to watch the NT/UT football game. Are there any sports bars in Denton that carry the Longhorn Network?

Total B.S. Paranoia strikes deep.

He should be eligible this fall, unless there are some rule changes that I am missing.

As football fests begin, ranking the FBS conferences
IslandEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
National publication continue to rank the MAC higher than they deserve. It's kind of like the inflated opinion they have of the big ten. -
Nope. It is a Colorado brewery that specializes in Belgian style wheat beer. Much better tasting that the flavored water of Coors and Miller for sure.

I was at the game and have it recorded (on VCR), where you can see replays of the official "miss calls".. Still burns me. A good friend (now deceased) who was a big UT supporter and alum, but a very fair person told me that after the game, one of the refs admitted to UT officials that they had given the play to UT. Since Jim was honest to a fault and a UT alum and a friend, I tend to believe the story.

Not surprising at all. That was an issue when he was here. -

SMU to expand beer sales to Ford Stadium in fall
IslandEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Exactly, which is why beer sales at Apogee will start this coming season, with vendors working the visiting team's bench. -
Yes. 2015 or 16 if my memory is correct. Of course, they may always buy us out to find an easier win.

Which true freshmen do you see making an impact this season?

I watched him in the state championship game and I agree. He can catch in traffic as well as in the open. -
Brett Vito Part I: Can UNT football maintain momentum
IslandEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree on most of your points, but DT was a game changer in at least some games. Just re-watch the Ball State game. He was the key to winning the game that really set the tone for the season. -
ESPN way-too-early bowl projections (5/27/14)
IslandEagle replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
New Mexico Bowl would be fairly easy to make and have several friends living in the area. Bahamas Bowl might be fun, but I'd have to look at expenses and timing. -
Come on people, get your votes in!

Yes. And he will play for the East squad in the Oil Bowl game on June 14

UNT president announces budget cuts in wake of financial problems
IslandEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
50 years ago the state legislature operated on the assumption that it was in the long-term interest of Texas to keep tuition low and develop a well educated population. That idea went out the window about 20 years ago and college out of price for many middle class families and most graduates will spend much of their lives paying off their college debts instead of buying houses, etc. So, now, college is becoming difficult for all but the "my daddy is rich" crowd.- 26 replies

Greg White-Pittman will see a lot of playing time. Don't know if he will start, but he was a steal for us.

Brett Vito UNT’s NFL Draft drought continues — quick thoughts
IslandEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Being drafted and Free Agency don't mean as much today as they did 20-30 years ago. The number of free agents versus draftees on NFL teams have changed with a much higher representation of Free agents. So that is one factor, though not the only. Nevertheless, coming into camp as a free agent definitely does not have the stigma that it had years ago. The coaches are more than willing to see what their free agent signees can do. -

MGB: UNT post-spring depth chart, thoughts

Why is Buyers still listed? I thought he had dropped football. -
Well, he is a freshman for one. It may take him a while to develop. Nothing unusual in that. It is exceedingly rare for QB to come in and rule the roost early on. yes, I am aware of the exceptions. But, this is more of what would be expected at his stage of development.....even with great potential. So, if it takes him a year or two, i can live with that.

What and let the coaches decide who starts like it was their job?
