  1. Michael Sturns! Collins and Mangrum will come off the bench with Bell, Sturns, and Flemmings starting.
  2. STURNS STARTS!
  3. I might be the only one that thinks this, but I HATE the Thunder song. I hate it even more when it is blasted over the low grade speakers at the games. Every time I bring freinds to games or when new students go they always ask me "what the hell are they playing?" I am down with a new unofficial song.
  4. I think someone as started a support group for this kind of behavior! Drinking to much Green kool-aid is not good for your health. My family has me in detox over christmas.
  5. Why is it that women don't like us?
  6. With JJ as the coach Im not jinxing anything.
  7. JJ said that KD was ready to play against JC but decided to hold him out. JJ said Davis will play against bellhaven. And also that KD is looking good. He should get back in shape against Bellhaven and we will see where he is at against Denver.
  8. DENTON (12/22/06) – Clutch performances have become the norm for the Mean Green basketball team this season, which returns home for a matinee match against Jarvis Christian today at 2 p.m. North Texas (8-3, 1-1) jumped to 84 in the official RPI Ratings following the 86-85 win over Sun Belt rival Western Kentucky, which came down to a Keith Wooden lay-up with just over five seconds remaining. NT, now 2-1 against the RPI’s top 100 teams, has gotten to this point with gritty performances in the closing minutes of tight games. When it comes down to the wire, North Texas has been clutch all season. NT holds a 4-2 record in games decided by four points or less in 2006-07 - compared to 2-4 last year. In the final two minutes of those six games, Michael Sturns and Calvin Watson have combined for 33 of the team’s 53 points, and the team as a whole is shooting 51.4 percent from the floor. Wooden alone is shooting 66.7 percent during clutch time in his first season in a Mean Green uniform. The win at Western Kentucky was not only North Texas’ first victory over the Hilltoppers in eight tries, but it also marks only the second time a Sun Belt team has won at E.A. Diddle Arena in the last three seasons. Not only has North Texas never faced Jarvis Christian (8-2, 1-1 in RRAC), but it has also never played a current Red River Athletic Conference (NAIA Div. I) team in the regular season. The Mean Green faced RRAC member Texas College in exhibition play earlier this season, topping the Steers 92-71. NT owns a 2-0 record against UT-Permian Basin, which moved from the RRAC to NCAA Div. II’s Heartland Conference for the 2006-07 season.
  9. Yes this why I will be there.
  10. You're right. But I don't think they have learn anything about playing until the buzzer. Tulsa, Rice, UNO, WKU, all had opportunities to win the game that they shouldn't have had. If Tulsa, Rice , and WKU made one more shot, that they shouldn't had, we would be 5-6 right now. If they lcould just finish games strong we would be 10-1..
  11. You were at the Rice game? Were did you sit? I was that loud kid that was making them Proods mad!
  12. That game means as much as football beating SMU. We were and cleary are better then UTA but they wanted it more then us and played better then us. WKU is a good team they did beat a very good Georgia team. We will see if we are good or just play to our competion, when we play the NAIA teams and a very bad Denver team.
  13. Totally agree. If only we can get Howerton some confidence . I love the inside out game!
  14. I don't care why he was playing bad earlier in the year. I just want him to keep getting better. If Wooden and Williams keep getting better in the post, Sturns, Watts, and KD will have open threes all night. But against WKU Wooden didn't have anyone even close to stopping him. Everytime Wooden plays against a descent postman he struggles. So Have to wait and see before i declare him better then Q.
  15. I don't think we will stuggle at all. Davis will stuggle, but JJ will know how to play him until he is back to full form. Even if his shot is off we will need his leadership and D-fense.
  16. I think these games are ment to keep the team sharp and thats it. No matter who we schedule there will be only a few fans. Then we are in the start of Belt play. So these games are better then practice but not as tough as a real game. If JJ wanted to he could try new things and have players like Mangrum or both Harolds play big minutes and still get an easy win.
  17. WKU is forcing 18 turnovers a game. Against WKU you have to expect that. But with our history with turning the ball over I would like to see that go down to 15.
  18. He hasn't been healthy sine the end of camp. With Wooden coming on strong and Q playing great I think he should just rehab and try to get to 100%. When he has played this year he did not look comfortable.
  19. Thats why the turnovers are not a lot. If we didn't play as well as we did it would have been in 30's. Also I think about 6-8 of the turnovers were charges.
  20. Actually against WKU that is about average. They are a good defensive team and press well and a lot.
  21. He problably throgh up the "S" for Sturns. I don't like it but I would not call makeing an S with your hands gangbanging.
  22. I agree with you on that. Even last year When USA went to the dance everybody thought WKU was the better team and should have gotten an at large bid. To beat them in thier gym is by far our biggest win of the season.
  23. I like seeing both Q and Wooden playing well on the same night.
  24. That was good coaching, but I want to know what has happened to Harold Edwards?
  25. If we keep winning the WKU home game will be 7,000+ I am so happy that we won I don't think i coulda have taken another close loss.
