  1. If anyone has buyers remorse at this point, it would be UNT and the fans. Mendoza assured this.
  2. Probably be there, usually am one of the 2 -3 people attending.
  3. Is Mendoza the worse DC we have ever had? TD should be careful on supporting "my guys" when they perform at this level....his coaching is lacking....an understatement. I don't think UNT is paying for this level of performance....TD this really makes you look bad....it makes UNT a laughing stock.
  4. Is there a game watching party in Houston?
  5. Are you sure that is not an SMU game? Looks like their home attendance crowd
  6. I would agree. The most obvious of all the problems was missed tackles. Also, was there no outside LB to turn the plays to the inside? Don't know alot about football, but I do know you want to turn the plays to the inside. Perhaps it was just a speed issue.
  7. Driving in from Houston, needing good and cheap parking advise for SMU beating. anyone got some parking suggestions?
  8. Whats the deal, can't we get anyone to show up for the game in Houston!!! Houston, we have a problem!
  9. Both QB's played well. Time will tell who should be the starter for the long haul. Vizza is inspiring, just needs to make better decisions (ie interceptions). However, I see big time quarterbacking in both of these guys in just a short time. Both have great arms....impressed.
  10. I will be driving up from Houston for the game. It was VERY painful at SRO in Houston watching the MG get handed their butts, but they will learn from this and turn this around and become what we expected....TD is a winner and this is what winners do. Also bringing non UNT folk with me. Someone I talked with at SRO (named James) said he is driving up for the game also...see you at SMWho to see us kick their butts.
  11. We were whhipped badly. I thought Meager did well considering the def was in our backfield most of the time. This is as bad a loss as I remember - starting following UNT in early 70's, but we have been whipped badly by many teams. OU is big (off Line avg 6ft 7in and 316 lbs) and they are fast. Dodge is a winner, he will review game film, study, fix, and this team will be much better later this year. It hurts, but not as bad as if DD was still at UNT. Firing DD and hiring Dodge tells me a lot about what admin wants to do with this program.....give it time to materialize. I believe we will see a much better game against SMU. I hope so, driving up from Houston and I know others are driving up from Houston as well. GMG
  12. This is just too DAMN funny!!!!!!!!!
  13. We will see you at SRO before kickoff, thanks
  14. I talked with RV in Austin during our last game and he told me, without hesitation, we would be in a new stadium in 2009 season.
  15. I like the idea of an upper deck. I think if you evaluate it you will find an upper deck is just about as close as the back part of a larger lower seating area, just higher. I was say we need at least a upper deck on the student side, like TCU or split the seating into quads on both sides (10k x 4)for the seating with 2 upper decks. I have been in the upper decks of UT (front row of upper deck last 2 years and I like it, just remember the upper deck at UT is far back because the size of the stadium. Still the seats at the front row area great. The upper deck gives class and a "big Stadium" feel to the place. If you want the upper deck closer to the field, build fewer seats on the lower seating.....say 20,000 seats on the main side with one level and the 10,000 lower and 10,000 upper on the student side.
  16. don't get me wrong, I have been wanting dickey gone for a LONG time...my point is this...if we are going to run a D1 footballl program we need to pay what we need to to get a good coach, have facilities substantially better than Fouts and get agressive about putting butts in the seats. Oh, by the way...I think RV is "the man".
  17. you shouldn't wear a fire helmet at the banquet
  18. MM was right about one (and only one) thing...it was UNT needs to increase the budget if they are going to go anywhere in D1 football...they will never be able to compete with the real programs (read successful programs) with such a low budget and a sub high school stadium. Ask yourself this...if you had some real talent to play football, would you elect to go play football at UNT...I wouldn't.
