R Mendoza should hit the road too....TD better be smart enough to fix the defense BEFORE next season starts. Judgement? Remember, TD said the defense would be the STRENGTH of the team....we were the worse in ALL of college div 1A and perhaps the worse in UNT history...how is this for running a defense?

Replace our current DC with someone worth a *&%&*. Recruit speed on defense. Get started on the new stadium ASAP.

Not really, while Boooooooo RM is right, it is a thread about how responsible is TD for bringing back a failed DC, how likely will there be a call to replace TD with this decision if RM is responsible for a 2-3 win season. To me, this seems like an "all but safe" decision on TD's part....could substantially impact his career.

With more seasons like this year, they will not have to shut it down, it will shut itself down.....thanks to RM.

How much of an impact will a new stadium have on attendence, by itself, not considering wins/loss for the team....just the the new stadium environment/atmosphere?

If TD brings back RM as the DC and we only win 2-3 games next season, because of our defense, should TD be fired because of his poor judgement in bringing RM back as DC, when RM has shown NO improvement from the start to the end of this season, and UNT is the Worse defense in 1A ? Would this point to UNT having made a bad decision in hiring TD? Also, just how stupid is it bringing back RM as DC?

I agree 100%. I think Amon Carter is an excellent stadium and the upper deck gives it a Big Time Program feel. We current have about 10K seats on each side and I think I would build it with 15K on one side and 10K to 12K lower on the other side with a 8 to 10 K deck. That would look great. The suits should be on the top of the 15K side so TV will get the decked side. Please, NO end zone seats and lets get the pitch right on the stands.

Hope you Ron Mendoza supporters are happy. This is the most pathetic defense EVER at UNT since I have been following them ...1976 to present. I will not be spending any money with the MG next year if RM is DC. You have to realize some of us oldtimers have heard it all before.....UNT, were going to do this, do that, build a new stadium....you get the point; anyway you have to questions TD ability to put a program together at the college level when he is losing to this level of competition, even if it is his first year....and then to plan to bring RM back as DC...just pathetic in all aspects.

Glad to see us abaout to ink a deal with ARmy....great news, but what is not so great is the statement in the press release that Army will be playing at Fouts in 2009....was hoping for a new stadium by then....as per RV's statement to me at the last Texas game in Austin.

amen brother, perhaps the most embarrassing defense I have seen at UNT since my graduation in 79. If RM is kept at DC, I think you would have to question TD decision making.

He is also responsible for the humiliation of the MG this season and pissing off alumni......I would have fired him long ago....Fire Mendoza and get a real DC so this program can go places besides the bottom of the 1A stats column as the worse program in the nation....Don't you think it is getting a little old being at the bottom to the 1A food chain now....we have been kicked around by the press for so long, it is time UNT does the things they need to do to change the program, the culture and mind set at UNT.....build a stadium, not accept excuses for poor perfomance, increase the expectations of students to perticpate in the spirit of UNT, schedule the right teams.... find a model for this (and there are many out there), put a plan in place, execute a plan and stop waisting time....Do It. Firing Mendoza would be part of the plan.

That is why Mendoza needs to be fired after this game....any coach can coach as good as he can...this I am sure.

Are you sure? They came back after being down 21 points, they won the game in the last minute...this wasn't the offense's fault....no, Mendoza is to blame, again....sure the offense looked bad tonight and I sure didn't like some of the play calling, reminded me of DD, but the defense is not innocent in this game....I caan't believe Mendoza even has a job.....this really pisses me off about Dodge.

I say Texadelphia on Westheimer or SRO as a 2nd choice, but whatever, lets decide on a location....I have to make work arrangements to make the game watching gathering...OK.

RETSO RATSO is right. We will have too much of a high powered offense next year to get blown out on defense...Folks, were going to have some tough games in the next few years (like we have had in the previous) to not get this defense tuned up with (1) juco players and (2)new DC.

Today should be Mendoza's last day at UNT. He has shown he can't coach at this level.....the worse defense I have ever seen at UNT. There has been no improvement since day one, only worse. How long will Dodge allow this guy to embarass UNT and kill support? I like many had tickets to this game and did't go....cancelled air fare and stayed home....not going to spend several hundred bucks to go see a game when I was sure our defense would loose the game for us as it did....as it has all season long.....so is Dodge going to support UNT or Mendoza? Should Mendoza be on our payroll? Is Dodge spending our money well when hehas someone like Mendoza on the payroll? FIRE MENDOZA, get someone worth a **it.
