after more than 30 yrs of following UNT football, this score at the half with a big 12 team sounds about right....you could have inked this score based on history....whats changed?
-
apears to be pathetic again....probably will win 3 games this year...TD has yet to show he can coach at the college level....oh...at the sunbelt level.
-
Mean Green Premium is so pathetic they should incorporate it into MS Vista.
-
I found Mean Green Premium as pathetic and a waste of my money....something major would have to change for me to cough up 100 bucks for such a poor product again.
-
Interesting that Fry says the name Mean Green came from Mean Joe Greene but previous postings here suggest otherwise.....who knows?...the legend continues!!

You are correct O' great one....they wouldn't show.

2009 Fb Schedule Negotiations Ohio Bobcats, Mid American
houstonmeangreen replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree, our students would turn out better with Tx State or Sam Houston....they know about these schools and possibly have friends that go to them. -
You are so right KRAM1....I was in grad school at NT during the Fry days and I too have heard it all....all the BS....promise this ,promise that...but this time it is different. All you have to do is look at the things the Admin is doing...the hotel, the financial adjustments, the plans, surveys, the public commitments, etc to see this...it is very different and this stadium will happen and I do believe it will be by 2010....lets just hope they do it right because we have fallen soooooooo far behind...so many of the other 1a teams are in their 2nd or 3rd expansion phases (ie Texas Tech) and the gap just gets wider. Let's get moving!

Some of us who have been around UNT football since the Fry days have heard it all before. So what makes this time different? Well, it is out of the norm for UNT to buy out DD contract for half a million, to spend one million on site evaluation and stadium plans, to suddenly have an emergency telephone board meeting to spend 4.5 million to take the hotel back immediately. It is not the norm at UNT for the President to be "on board" for a new stadium and to acknowldge this to the press and say it will be done no matter how long it takes....this is commitment to an end goal....where there is smoke, there is fire....YES my friends, you will get your stinkin stadium, sooner or later....my guess is sooner and by 2010.

Well, This Is Bad News/good News
houstonmeangreen replied to flyeater's topic in Mean Green Football
This stadium news is BAD NEWS. I was told by RV in Austin that we would "be in a new stadium" by 2009....then it was changed to 2010....now we are saying ground breaking in 2010.....this is beginning to sound a lot like BS to me. Perhaps the blog really was "in the stadium" in 2010 instead of "ground breaking" in 2010. For grounding breaking in 2010...there seems to be a lot of "this can't wait" stuff going on at UNT...like...the Radison Hotel ...couldn't wait for a board meeting...had to get the OK from the board over a phone meeting....the drainage engineering being don right now...statements by Dodge about being in a stadium in 2010...just don't know...seems to be a lot of "hurry up" for a ground breaking 2 yrs off vs a ground breaking this year....sooooooo? -
Yea, like girls and beer.

College Football's Middle Class May Feel The Squeeze
houstonmeangreen replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Orlandosentinel maye long on concept, but he is short on facts when it comes to UNT. We are not like smu running in the red 14 million per year or some of the other programs with no upside and unwillingness to make necessary changes. UNT is doing what is necessary to win, increase attendance and season ticket sales...stadium is soon and winning is soon....this means attendance and support. -
This is indeed very interesting and exciting news.....maybe we are on the way. I wonder the the radisson hotel deal fits in? It has to fit in somehow for UNT to buy the contract lease out and the fact they had to do it NOW and vote over the phone....could not wait until the board meeting. Maybe we hear something in July. July 7th is exactly 5 months from the design award to HKS for the stadium. very interesting.
-
someone on the cusa board said Cusa has always been about "attendance first" ie if UNT built a stadium and was getting 35K attendance then cusa would interested....then why did they take SMU....SMU has no attendance and is about as big a dump program you can get without goingto Div 3.

New Proposed Unt Football Stadium
houstonmeangreen replied to UNT_playmaker's topic in Mean Green Football
30K not happy, 35K happy....even if we were to start selling 30k seats in a few years, just how long do you think it would be before it was expanded?.....my guess...many years, if ever. I just hope whatever they do (size wise) they at least do it right and save the end zone for expansion seats....and put a deck on the stadium....and build a restroom...and have dancing girls....getting off track again. -
So Just How Expensive Are Those Seats?
houstonmeangreen replied to houstonmeangreen's topic in Mean Green Football
His seats are in the upper deck...the large deck...if prices get any higher it will be a great place to jump from. -
Had dinner last night with a friend who has 4 seats in the upper deck at UT. The cost this year for these seats...home games only are...$8,700 a year...typically 6 games. This doesn't include stuff like tickets for the Tx/OU game, etc. Of course there is that $4 a gallon gas, hotel and food and booze...very expensive to go see the Horns play....sad, isn't it! Just thought ya'll might want to know.
-
So when do we see the plans from HKS for the new stadium?....June?, July? Never?

I think you miss the point....a&M will draw fewer fans in Southern miss than they would bring to in state NT....its closer.
