Last year UNT was going to pick a builder/partner for the Hotel at the athletic village (replace the Radisson). They made a selection (?) in Jan of 09 I think. Have not heard anything else on this...whats the story....Bueller?

Much better design than what we are building, more traditional, asthetics are better....Hate that "lean to" we are putting on the student side...just looks cheap.

I emailed support for the UNT stadium to both Crownover and Estes...even though I am from Houston.

I noticed on the newspaper description of the stadium there was no mention of a "club level" as in the previous design...you know, the large area with tables, a large bar, great view, etc as was in the previous design....is this now gone? I don't like this design as well as the model shown previously.....it apprears to have a design inline with either SMU's or T Tech's stadium....hard to tell with the drawings....here I am talking about the bleacher design only. I don't have a problem with that...think the TT design is fine.....I do think they would be better off getting rid of the upper level of end zone seating and build a deck on the student side....much better seating I'm not so sure I like the AC that far from the stadium endzone. Why not either move the stadium closer to the AC or build an extention out from the AC...like a 2nd floor platform (deck) to fill out the gap between the endzone seating with walk thru on the ground floor...this also providing shade from the sun. I suspect what is built at the onset is all that will ever be built. The only way you will ever see expansion of this stadium is if UNT is admitted to the Big 12, etc....and the chances are..?????..you are right , they are zero to o.ooooo1.

why would the MWC take the worse 1a program in the country.....that is us in case you forgot....they are trying to get automatic bid to BCS playoffs....taking NT would be stupid....lets see.,. TCU pays coach 1.7 million and we pay ....what 300K or so....they are top 20 ....lets see...we were ????????????? give me a break...if UNT wants to play with the big boys, then they have to start acting like it... not like some two bit 1aa team....and that is just what they are acting like....TD should have been fired (never should have been hired) and this stadium should have been built years ago, yet we still jack around with everything while the football world moves on.......and you ask me???????????...yes , I have been around UNT football for more than 35 years and well......you guessed it...not much change where it should be.....that is how we think of ourself as a football program and what changes we make....just not aggressive enough for today.....so why would MWC take us?.....I wouldn't.

Do they have new plans for the stadium and how close to the current model is it? Why the wait for another year to break ground? WAIT....that is all we do. RV said during the Rice game we would look at breaking ground in early spring to early summer....whats happened? We could get this stadium open by 2010 season with some effort, then we are only one year late from RV's previous statements...will it never end? WAIT, WAIT, WAIT....stadium....2-0, 1-0 ...let's wait for 2009 season to see if TD can turn this around....hell, we are worse than anytime in history!!! lets get things moving like successful programs do.

If I recall, UNT was to select a developer for the new hotel complex or remodel at Eagle Point (golf course). Anyone heard anything about this...this will play a major role in the Athletic Village. And, Why are they waiting until 2010 to even break ground for the new stadium....there just is never an y urgency concerning this issue...our competition started later and will finish sooner...you know..schools like FAU, etc. This seems to just get pushed back ...just hope this is really going to happen...that is, before we are all dead and buried.

I couldn't agree more. TD will be history unless Riley saves him...this kid has talent and it showed when he entered the game in 08. I am not too sure how great a qb Vizza really is. Unlike Riley, he just doesn't seem to "make things happen"....Riley appears to have this ability.....then there is the rest of the problems with this team...coaching being a major one.

Put is this way....it would be hard to be worse considering we are the worse program in the USA Div 1A, but that being said we will still be pathetic and a humilitated on a regular basis....as I have said TD should have been given the boot with his 2 year record.

If TD doesn't get 6 wins in year 3 he should get the boot.....he is a pathetic coach in my opinion (at the college level...as HC). If he is paid what he is paid and can't manage any more than 3 wins in his first two seasons...with most losses blowouts....sh!t...against Sunbelt competition.....unbelievable we accept such...our expectations are way too low.

Could see the writing on the wall.....at 10 min left in 4th....Blakley sure made some bad play calling.....I think a lot of this is coaching....remember LSU where TRoy was up something like 31-3 and then lost the game in the 4th.....pathetic.

Why is there a 3 1/2 month gap between "notice to proceed" and "construction start"?....not that it makes much difference....it still looks like a 2011 opening date.

So what does "butt kickin" mean in relation to "gettin"...as in "gettin a butt kickin"...Does this have anything to do with "boots".....please clarify.

OK........so RV said the reason ground breaking would be late spring, early summer was because the architectual plans, costing some 3.5 million, would have to be drawn up...taking several months. This wouldn't start until the State Legislature approval was obtained....so it sounds like the "programming study" is before the plans are actually done? Does it define what the stadium is to look like, all the functions, rooms, seats, etc?....that is, "this is what we want" so draw up some plans?
