  1. work on your spelling....."we should email TD and show our Export for him for 2010"
  2. TD is gone.
  3. Oh yes....the defense that kept us in the game up until the last few minutes after your top Qb threw 3 interceptions and fumble the bal once or twice....and it is too bad that Gary D. has never proven himself at the college ranks like TD.
  4. agree...while I was no DD fan, he was one of the few coaches that brought ANYTHING to unt since I have been following it (nearly 35 yrs). While UNT was still a weak team...not winning OC games and only won the NO bowl once, due to turnovers, I still didn't have to cry in my beer every game like under TD.
  5. I too think RD will be OK...just needs someone to work (coach) him....apparently he is not being coached, or coached well....if he can stop the turnovers he could be a great QB at UNT....if not, he is more of a liability as a QB.
  6. You are right....wins count, that is why we have a score board. I wasn't big on TD from the getgo...you know, dennis Parker and all. Keeping TD another year if he fails again will make this admin and RV look extremely BAD....if they fire him and hire someone else....well it would be hard to do worse. five years of terrible football at UNT is just toooooooo long folks. We just can't hang our hat on wishful thinking and hope, we have to look at the facts and stats and playing calling, etc. If RD stays...great, I like him and we can find a place for him ....QB?, don't know...but if he leaves there are plenty of QB's who will like to take a shot at fame in our New Stadium. there is good new talent every year and UNT will start getting it with our without TD...thanks in a large part to the new stadium.
  7. You could see how much RV's heart is into this and the University....he has truely been a great hire for UNT.
  8. You are right...try to go through the MBA program with a 2.0 and see how long you last.....not acceptable there either.
  9. I agree...strong schools in the conference is a good thing, not like UNT who could probably use a new coach.
  10. agree, but my concern is that he is not being coached to correct the problems....we are seeing the same things and it is getting worse in my opinion...I think this goes to a coaching issue like so many other issues.
  11. totally agree and well said....so many thnigs I just can't believe....painful...turnovers, RD errors, special teams. lack of adjustments, not agreesive enough on defense, lack of urgency when things start going badly, etc, etc. time for a change.
  12. You don't see this too often in well coached teams....anyway..TD said in the previous loss that he made two terrible calls in the red zone and it all goes on and on...the evidence shows us he will not will in the future also....I just don't see the evidence pointing otherwise....I wish I did.
  13. Great...perhaps in his 4th yr NT301 Opp 385, the 5th yr NT 310 Opp 375...etc2-3 wins a year doesnt cut it in ANY way...so ONE loss for UT and they are out of the National Champ picture...last year a ONE second loss...one catch cost them a shot at the National Champ...etc...wins, losses, seconds, etc ALL count in football....you get the picture....UNT IS THE LAUGHING STOCK OF FOOTBALL....has been for most of the 35 yrs I have been following NT football.....this along with other cultural and attitudes concerning UNT football has to change or it will never change at UNT....TD get nearly $300 grand a year to win football at the lowest level of competition in Div 1 football in the country at one of the largest universities in the country and his is going to win 2-3 games and lyou say keep him? Doing this doesn't show CHANGE or commitment at UNT...it says same old, same old. It is sad, but I think we need to move on....keeping TD on board may be good...he may win 7-8 games next year, but keeping him on maybes and hopes is NOT a good strategy...its just wishful thinking.
  14. Well, if this is what we are getting near the end of 3 yrs of TD at the helm, then i don't think I'm up for any more....he, himself said in his last post game interview he made two terrible calls in the red zone...I think there were many more....yes this team has talent on it, it is the coaching that is the problem...lack of urgency when things turn in the wrong direction....lack of agressiviness of the defense...just watch Texas defense and see how aggressive they are...I dn't see this with the UNT defense but I use to see this with the UNT defense when Bogger was playing...we had a very good defense then....now we struggle to be in the game with the bottom of div I teams and usually lose to them...we let 2 TD leads go away..etc. I will tell you this....schools that really want to win and be champions don't accept this kind of performance....period. UNt has for years but UNt has been the laughing stock of college football for most of the time I have been following it (since about 1975)...teams we use to regularly play and beat (ie boise state) and compete against (ie TCU) have moved on to bigger and better things (comittment) while unt has not (our wonderful record during the last 5 years)..I personally like TD, I really feel for the players and the students. I hope you are right about things changing next year....I would much rather be 100 % wrong and you be 100% right..I just don't think this is the case. Unt needs to be more agressive to change the football culture at UNT.
  15. UNT shell shocked.....TD waves the white flag again. Waiting for RV to send new commander after season is over (acutally it is over now and has been for awhile).
  16. He must be the new Joe Paterno or Grant Taff.....more likely....Dennis Parker !!
  17. If you recall, Gene Stallings said we didn't need a new stadium....what BS....don't get me wrong, I like stallings and have heard him speak before...he is very good, but we don't need Gene to tell us what to do with our program. And you should give thanks everyday that RV came to UNT as our AD regardless of how TD works out....every year..year end and year out, colleges...ALL OF THEM...hire and fire coaches because they don't work out...it is no different at UNT than at UT, A&M and every other university in the US.....they have all had coaches that didn't work out....but RV has done a great job at UNT and if you don't think so you just have been around long enough to have prespective, because in the past it really sucked bad...real bad and now we can see light at the end of the tunnel....several years off but a new era is on its way.
  18. Most of you vets don't know the depth of the graditude and respect we have for you....we can't say enough.
  19. Parker did such a fine job at NT....reminds me of TD.
  20. I wouldn't be so sure TD has a job next year....probably does, but there is some money in the background (how do you think we are putting up $40 million in cash on this stadium) and I don't know if they are going to want TD around for another year if we only win 2-3 games....who knows, but if you want to lease suites, sale naming rights, keep donars, etc you need to have a coach who can win games...I'm afraid TD is not that guy...what the hell, schedule one more bodybag game and give him the boot. But, maybe RV thinks TD can still turn it around...if he gets another year and goes 3-4 wins RV will be looking VERY BAD.
  21. Inside info ...RV just set up hunting trip for TD with Dick Chaney !!
  22. Not much evidence of this at this time....I predict he will be out with injuries most of the time.
  23. Yes, I do....she was wearing a UNT football jersey from the onset of her hire at UNT....others like Al Hurley...not so much.
  24. Perhaps you need prospective.....RV has brought more to this program than everyone before him....this means facilities and a new stadium.....coaches come and go...some good and some bad and the AD's prior to RV have hired some pretty bad ones....and a few good ones. RV had done a great job with what he has had....I for one have been surprised that UNt has been able to even field a football team with the crap stadium we have had for some many years, I have been around since the Fry years and I can say you should be thankful for RV....everyday.....this is why you are getting a new stadium...this is why UNT will be able to compete in a few years even if today we look like crap....this too will not last....TD will have to prove himself and I mean soon....will he be around next year?...I don't know, if it was up to me the answer would be NO....well see what RV does. But I have seen good and bad AD's and he is not in the BAD category.
