big time college football program We don't need a big name college football coach to coach a big time college football program....we need one to coach at UNT !

What TD has done is make UNT the joke of college football...everybody is always looking to see if we are in the bottom 10 of college football polls...now thats what you call doing something for the program. And we should expect our coaches, like DD, to win at least some of the Out of conf games. Our expectations at UNT are way too low....so this is what we have.

Now if they could just do something about that pathetic MeanGreen Premium....really sucks...bad!

As someone posted not long ago, some students have never seen the MG win a game during their entire college experience at UNT...never!!!! These people are probably lost foever as supporters of unt football...this falls at the feet of RV....accepting this level of performance at North Texas and the more i think about it the more pissed I get ar RV for his management of the program, and I am a huge RV supporter, he has done wonders at UNT. The BIG pieces missing were the stadium and winning and support...well now we have a stadium, the support will come with winning (and a lot better marketing, especially concerning the culture at UNT), so now there is this winning thing...we are at a real turning poin at UNT with the new stadium on the PRO side of the sheet and losing (and the history of same) on the CON side of the sheet...I don't know !!! Our standards are just way too low and what we are willing to accept just way too high. I wonder if they are really thought this program at UNT through...I mean at the deep levels...chnaging the culture and all? the spirit and "oneness" of UNT? I suggest you go to youtube and look up the fight songs of the major universities and see/hear the videos...then compare UNT and you will get a feeling of how much UNT is lacking! very sad.

Win, alot of marketing in Denton, get new students involved early...visiting the stadium, meeting the team, cheerleaders, learning about the Mean Green, traditons, etc. Perhaps the "team' should hold rallys, etc in the middle of campus...raise money, hand out UNT football t-shirts...get the frats and soroities involved as much as possible....look at what other universities are doing...brainstorm ideas. support is increasing...amazed there is this much attendance considering the TD team ! TD has to go no matter what ! Winning cures a lot, especially with a new stadium.....bad idea to bring Uof H in for opening games...bad idea.

How much SHOULD unt pay a new HC ? How much WILL unt pay a new HC? Who could you get as a HC for How Much? (even a big 12 oc or dc makes some bucks...will not discuss Texas..figures too high, but say a Carl Pelini ..dc at Neb makes $375,000....hey, his brother BO at Neb makes 2.1 million as HC...maybe hire Carl...BO I am sure would help his brother be successful as a HC....interesting !!

I think not having good facilities makes a big difference...no doubt, but i am talking about the culture at Nt, about hiring Parker, Bob Tyler, TD, etc...shopping at Walmart and expecting Macy's....not until Dr Pohl came on the scene did we really start seeing some changes around UNT...things are getting better, but we have to leave the walmart and go somewhere else...we have to change the culture regarding football at NT to make a difference...at UNT and Denton. We must raise our expectations...alot!

He who hesitates loses? I hope we have not waited too late even on this new stadium as we look at the present NCAA landscape of re-alignments with some more on the way. A TCU'er told me he thought the Big East was a done deal for the Horned Frogs, well guess what big hole that would create with yet another new re-alignment domino effect on the way? I don't think we waited too long on the stadium so much, as we have accepted a crappy program, hired HS coaches and been loosing for years and are the joke of 1A football. RV ?

agreed....Best AD we have ever had, but if you are going to make these type of decisions you need to move on also...otherwise it is more of the same for UNT...RV, you already got a pass on hiring a HS coach as our HC....simple question...is this guy winning games for us?...if no, then next please.

Dodge at this point deserves the whole year regardless TD deserves the door, like he should have been given 2 yrs ago...in fact, he shouldn't have even been hired...and ps...I like the guy, just not as the HC at UNT.

agree...give TD next week, if he doesn't win....bye bye....give canales a chance to show us what he can do with whats not broke (ie players) and let the fans and supporters know it will not be the same old hat at UNT as has been the case FOREVER....otherwise...get behind the Cornhuskers !!
