When Gretchen Bataille was on her tour of cities, she came by Houston and there was an event held in downtown houston...I would say turnout was maybe 300 or more...wonderful event, even talked about a new football stadium on the horizon....perhaps this is what we need for athletics...a visit to Houston..reservations required..etc.

Club level seats - Your experience ?
houstonmeangreen replied to akriesman's topic in Mean Green Football
Being from Houston, often working on Saturdays, I currently can make only one - two games in Denton each year...are you able to buy a ticket that gives you access to the club level on a per game basis? -
Thanks for the pictures and update. Perhaps they should build a freestanding concession stand and bathroom around the fouts parking lot for tailgating. Im hoping for a hotel at the stadium so I can fly in, stay at the hotel...game and party..fits the bill.

TV revenue for a 24 team conference may change that picture
-
I'm thinking that after the money is collected for the departing schools and the BCS, AQ, conference shifts pan out in the next couple of years, that CUSA and MWC will merge and for a 24 team super conference, with divisions and playoffs...but who knows...any thoughts on this in say 2013-2015?

Navy to cancel games with UNLV

The casinos in Denton are really fun! -
I see where Navy is cancelling games with UNLV....perhaps we should arraange some football games with UNLV (at UNLV)...that would be a fun trip !

First...Rawlins was instrumental in setting up conf USA in the first place...Im sure he knows what he is doing.....I bet heis instrumental this time around also...playing a bigger roll than most would expect. I think UNT is keeping options open as long as possible...USA vs MWC...probably calling friends and making an assessment as to Boise State...AQ situation..? as to if smu and/or UofH , et al will want to return to confUSA...TV deals, etc. I have COMPLETE confidence in Rawlins directing us into the best possible situation...this is an area where he has expertise...and who knows, maybe there is a bigger fish he is trying to reel in, since the AQ thing is going away....but I look for UNT to announce conf USA shortly...but who knows!!...it will be good anyway you cut it!

North Texas has contacted Alliance

I agree...I have been around since Hayden Fry and can tell you that even though RV has made a couple of bad mistakes (ie TD) he has a love and passion for UNT as much as anyone I have ever seen...and he has done a tremendous amount for UNT...so the spinners can jump on the board and I will ignore them as usual. -

It hurts to fall in the last few seconds...like last year, but I for one am very proud of the MG BB team....they gave it their best and we can't ask more than this...because this is all they have. JJ and the team have my admiration...GMG !!! Also, if they gave it their best they have nothing to be ashamed of...and a little time will help the pain of the loss. -
texadelphia on westheimer...if there will be several...?

Ditto....next it will be leaving the SEC for the belt !

GoMeanGreen.com Interview with UNT AD Rick Villarreal

Are we going to get some good OCC games at apogee for 2012...something that merits spendings several hundred bucks to travel to Denton and see the game? When are we going to do something about the sorry state of the MGPremium (laughing) service on the UNT athletic site...its been crap for years...video sucks, hard to sign on and modify or cancel service. Any word on a Hotel at Apogee for us traveling to Denton for games?....is it going to happen? -
at UT "gameday" is the event..pre and post and during...the game is just one aspect of the event...you wouldn't drive to Austin to get there just in time for kickoff...it is the atmosphere and the conversation and friends and party time for all...its the culture..the spirit. I flew up for the UH game and thought this was great...never seen that before at UNT..but as much as I like UNT and UNT football, it is costly to fly, hotel, rent car, food, tickets, etc...spending this for a team that hasn't won 5 games since 2004 and is playing FAU or the like just doesn't cut it for me...if I was local..different story. Rawlins and team has to change the culture around Denton..students and Denton residents alike....winning is a big part of that. I do believe we are on the right track and now is the time to push the culture change, etc.

the fact that SMU is getting play to go to the Big East vs UNT when we are much larger..new stadium and better attendance show you just how poorly the program has been managed at UNT and the lack of influence....this just has to be political. The TD experiment just killed us and SMU has spent the money to raise the quality of their team...and us?...too late to the party.
