  1. if you're serious i'm always down for free gear. and i don't have a green one. as long as you're not really talking about that unisex leotard that our boy was wearing last year. i've got a set on me but not anywhere near large enough to wear that.
  2. apologies from the hill. i haven't seen a debacle like this since the worst coach in division 1 history, matt kilcullen roamed the diddle court. i have actually entered into the 'pity' phase. i felt sorry for r-mac last night as he walked to shake hands with maestri. absolute fear on his face. i feel sorry for coach ransdell (our president) and anyone else in the administration. these will be difficult days ahead. sometimes sports fans forget that actual people are involved and just think they are little people inside a tv. but r-mac should have become a middle school teacher if he wanted a union and job security. my apologies are for draggin' the sun belt rpi down. troy is truly AWFUL and we made them look like duke in the second half last night. i hope you guys never experience it. this is the 3rd time in my life. first murray arnold, then matt killprogram and now r-mac. now we have uncle phil and fau coming into town for a saturday game.
  3. point god was my largest concern coming into the season. after watching brown play it no longer is. he's a freakin' jet with the ball. he causes motion sickness in the first 3 rows of fans. r-mac™ has played some head games with him early (playing the beloved honky walkon in front of him) but he's settling in as the man at point god. one of his turnovers last night was because cliff 'my brother is the best player on the planet' dixon wasn't ready for a very nifty pass in transition. it should have resulted in a dunk instead of bouncing off cliff's hip. as the players adjust to him he'll make us much better than 'nobody in the country wanted me' jamal crook. and 10 times better than 'i have incriminating photos of the coach' anthony sally from last year. this just in.....i love snap peters. he's legit fellas. he's the best player we've brought in since c-lee (pbuh). that doesn't mean he'll put up c-lee (pbuh) freshman numbers simply because of the 3 headed monster in pattillo, kerusch and pett.
  4. i won't take a bullet for it... but i'd take a taser.
  5. sandbagger???? what's wrong with polite and respectful guest????
  6. that final score was not really indicative of the game. we sucked but we didn't suck that bad. i didn't feel good coming into this game. you fired your coach. had 2 weeks before the next game. put a guy in at qb that torched us last year. have a good running back. willie said our practice on tuesday was one of the worst all year. was majorly p!ssssed about it. said the youngsters (he's played 10 true freshmen this year) didn't get it. he was right. but the biggest reason you won today. we pretty much SUCK as a football team. honestly...you guys do too. so does ulm. these are low water mark teams of fbs. and we suck worse than any of 'em. i can blame it all on eLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLson but our a.d. and pres. were behind him to make the transition. sometimes a guy says all the right things. sounds great. but sucks at his job. that was eLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLson. one thing i heard was he maybe recruited too many 'solid citizens'....good kids. i don't want us to be 'the u' but some of our better teams had a few thugs on them. harbaugh usually kept 'em out of jail but they wouldn't be high your list to hire in corporate usa. dunbar is a stud and riley looks like he's nfl bound when he plays us. why in the hell hasn't he been playing all year? or does he just look that good when he's playing the worst team in 1a????
  7. please for the love of god don't let him end up at murray.
  8. happy birthday to you who must obviously be of fine breeding and possessing of massive intellect. not only do you share your birthday with wierd al yankovich (which should really explain a lot (about me)) you share one with me. and i got a pretty damn good birthday present by the hilltoppers today. they chose to end the losing streak on 'our' birthday.
  9. when i was in the second grade i had 3 girls pass me notes and axe me if i liked them. i was supposed to mark an x in either the 'yes' or the 'no' box. i marked x's in the 'yes' box on all 3. after school some other boys were making fun of me cuz i already had 3 girlfriends. when i got home i told my dad about it. he gave me some sound advice and i'm gonna pass that on to cezar: 'shake them haters off'
  10. just busting your chops amigo. actually glad you wore it. if you hand been in standard issue hoops memorabilia mode i might not have recognized. i'm pretty glad you guys won. one, because i respect jj as a coach and, two, because troy folks are such tools and don't even have a clue what a basketball is much less appreciate how sweet going to the tourney is. is that going to be standard hoops garb henceforth??? just wondering. i think i could still pull one off my bad self.
  11. here's a little story i told on the rajin pagin forum when they told me to stay away from the goats.
  12. congrats to the mean green for taking the tourney. if there is a school that i pull for when the toppers are finished it's the mean green. mainly because of a couple of idiots i met in mobile. they know their hoops and when we met were avowed topper bashers. up in topper land some of our more knowledgeable fans have long respected jj. i know that a prophet is hated in his home town and some of your posters don't think he's done enough but to win the league when you lose you starting point guard for the season is impressive up here. please go out and put it on someone. this is not a backhanded compliment but i truly think the field is as watered down as it has been in awhile and the first round and second round should have some upsets. that said, it's all about matchups and i'm hoping ya'll don't get hosed like you did with the memphis matchup last time. good luck amigos. and to my buddy.....i was watching the game and my son dahbicito said i think that's our boy in the green costume....i said..."no way, he's not that gay"
  13. only 10 minutes??? try following a squad that thinks they can dog it for the first 30 minutes then try to come back and win it. that would be us. we pulled that crap against denver and middle and even tho' we got close both times the 30 minutes of suckball killed us. i'm crushing k-mac until he proves he can win on the road.
  14. what makes them so good? serious question....not trash. we only play them once this year. what style has brady installed? do they press? if they do it will give us trouble. we had problems with fiu's press last night. are they a good 3 point shooting team or do they try to pound it? thanks in advance.
  15. you may be struggling with your hoops team but you have some of the funniest, wittiest posters in the sun belt. i'll put you guys up against dee cee and swordfish and shunpiker from our board and that is high praise indeed. as crappy as we looked against fau, we looked very good tonight against fiu. we play the muts on monday and i know they'll be up for it.
  16. in the immortal words of tim allen...huuuuunnnnnnhhhh???? jeremy evans is wku's big man and his head might...just might barely approach 'apple' size. hold your forearm up in the air...now make a fist....that's jeremy's head.
  17. we could end up better in the long run if...and that's a big if sergio comes back healthy. i never know with lower limb injuries in hoops. we've played a tough schedule to start the season....we've also played like mierda in half the games. this has caused us to play starters too many minutes in my never humble o-pin-ee-yon. tuesday night against a very good murray squad (and in-state hated rival) k-mac was forced to play the 4 freshmen a lot of minutes because of power serge's and ant sally's injuries. all 4 of them contributed well. local (to you guys) argyle product caden dickerson hit a big 3 down the stretch to give us some breathing room. if we can weather the storm whilst the memphis mephisto is out we could be pretty good by the end of the year. k-mac benched cliff dixon for the murray game. he was preseason top 5 juco last year. he has potential but i know for a fact his half brother (kevin durant) has been calling him and wanting to know why his numbers aren't killin'....they ain't killin' cuz he ain't durant but thinks he is. he needs to take on a jeremy evans type role and then expand his game from there. there is some heat on k-mac around here because of this start. i was amazed what he did with last year's team. i'm hoping he can turn this squad into something good.
  18. fiu does suck and if they win 10 games i'll be shocked. we pretty much suck right now. i tried to warn everyone on our board. i can't get any of the preseason delusionals to admit to their shenanigans now. we can be pretty good by the end of the year but we could easily be 6-5 or 5-6 going into the new year. i'm pencilling in losses at s.c. at louieville and against vandy neutral. should beat evansville and tulane at home. tonight's game agains indiana state and the home game against murray are tossups. coastal carolina has a nice squad. i watched both games yesterday and they looked better than any of the 4. cliff ellis knows his hoops. he was the south al coach when we joined the sun belt.
  19. brandon 'snap' peters was at the game last night. terrible crowd and we looked like mierda....maybe he thought 'i can play here right away'. anyhoo...scout is reporting that he's committed to wku. i would be a little more excited if he had already signed with us during the early period. now we have to wait til spring and having been the father of 2 teenage sons i know how their minds work (or don't work). we'll see.
  20. welmer does a ton of our games up here. how many times did he pull his trousers up??? i've sat on the floor seats and he comes across as a pretty good guy. except then it always seems he goes out of his way to screw wku because he supposedly 'likes' coming up here. if that's his version of likes i hope he never loves us.
  21. any time the biggest whiner in college hoops takes one on the chin is a good day for me. i could care less if it was the russian nat'l team playing the 'cuse....i love boheim to lose.
  22. i have never said we are a great college town. b.g. is a college town tho'. warren co. is around 105k and with the surrounding counties we hit around 230k so b.g. is the retail and eatery center for all of the folks for that area. it's to the point that on fridays and saturdays i don't venture out. too much pain. warren county has a pretty diverse manufacturing base but is tied a bit too heavily to the auto industry and not just the g.m. corvette plant. the local paper has not always been a wku shill.....it has gone in cycles. when i was a kid it was all about it but when we've sucked it has died off. they really do a great job covering us now considering u.k. is as big as it is in this area. there are tons of places for grub and since b.g. is wet and most of the surrounding counties are dry it's the liquor epicenter of this area. all of those are necessary for a college town. kids gotta eat and they're gonna drink. enrollment just passed 20k this year and tho' that is nowhere near you guys (few are) it's the largest enrollment in wku history. when we made the sweet 16 2 years ago a lot of the local r.r. like wendy's and such had 'go wku' on their signs so i guess that is a mark of a college town. i didn't attend wku right out of school, i went into the military and i can tell you what a military town looks like.....pawn shop, dry cleaners, liquor store, titty bar and then repeat that loop over and over. right now the city politicians are being accused of being in bed with and rubber stamping any bonds that wku's ransdell has asked for. wku has bought up most of that side of town and has already torn down plenty of shacks that were around campus. they have a master plan that entails retail and living that will be really nice if it comes to fruition. they have what they call a 'south campus' that has really spread the last 10 years in a high growth area. wku definitely is the straw that stirs the drink.
  23. couple of points....congrats on the great scheduling. these are guys the mean green can definitely beat in their house. very impressed with the direction unt's hoops is heading....will give me someone to hate like i did back in the uno 'ervin johnson' days and the jesse 'i swear i didn't know that auto title was in my name' evans at ulala. not comparing jj to jesse at all but ulala had some baller teams under jesse 'not so clean' evans. point 2 and it is no way comparable to your newpaper situation at all since you guys are influenced by the m.p. the bowling green paper lives off of wku grads. the wku journalism dept is one of the tops in the country and wins hearst awards every year. that said, the local paper is owned by a family and hasn't been snapped up by gannett so they hire these kids straight off the hill and don't pay them jack. but they've been in bg for 4 (or more) years and like the area and it's their first job so they get paid nothing and like it. the good ones move on and the gaines family just hires another kid. in their defense we get great coverage for wku. and this is in an area that is 'ate up' with all things u.k. back to the schedule....great job....i only wish more sun belt schools would move their hoops in the direction that you guys have.
  24. woohoo.....that game yesterday seals the deal on eLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLson. he'll be gone before the end of the year. you heard it here first. i was actually in 'killprogram' territory yesterday. i always want wku to win. but during killprogram's last year at wku i went to games 'hoping we'd lose'. there was a dark part of me hoping we would not win yesterday. call it the final nail in his coffin. i know that sounds heretical but it was the only way i saw us getting rid of him....we lost....and will get rid of him. with no defensive improvement against you guys....he's gone.
