  1. When do practices begin? There are a number of big story lines for @Brett Vito to address, such as starting QB, OL prep, what defensive system will we run, and ill Odom still be the stand in DC, etc?
  2. Could be another situation of a great assistant/recruiter that isn’t a great head coach, much like a coach we hired a while back.
  3. That personality meshing with 18-22 year olds makes me laugh. Can you see Belichick sitting at the kitchen table of some five star recruit trying to talk to his parents and relate to this kid?
  4. Yep. The system can’t have it both ways. Either pay the kids a salary and let them pay for their schooling or stick with the scholarship system. Having hardworking students pay an “athletics fee” to support these programs while these athletes are getting a salary on top of all the benefits of their scholarship is system set up to fail.
  5. Because it is a bullshit system. I don’t need some kid running a podcast that gives him the attitude that he is all knowing to tell me that his opinion on the system is better than mine. It is what it is. I don’t like it. I see kids chasing dollars hoping to secure their future and probably forgoing their education. Do you really think Chandler Morris is worth the reported $1 million dollars Okie St is throwing at him? Do you think Ohio State’s $200 million payroll provided a solid return? It is not a sustainable system and is not being administered as intended. These collectives are paying kids a salary to just be on the team. It has nothing to do with marketing their likeness, their name or their image. It has turned our program into nothing more than a prep program for the P4 teams. We, UNT, spend time and money developing kids for what? For them to move along to the highest bidder and we get $0 in return. It is not a sustainable system. Why do “G5” donors want to throw money at these kids that have zero loyalty to us? What is the return? Hopefully 9 or 10 wins, a conference title and some BS bowl game only to watch our best players walk prior to the bowl game/playoffs? Sorry but the dialogue and “talking points” haven’t changed. It is nothing more than a game of greed. This is college sports with misplaced priorities that are ruining the game, in my humble opinion. That satisfy you?
  6. Thank goodness it is a lane and not a boulevard
  7. I agree. Get over it.
  8. I was just bringing up bad memories. Hard to believe that was 31 years ago.
  9. Yes, it is out of control. Teaches kids that if it doesn't work out, to take your ball and run off instead of working hard and earning your way.
  10. New entries: DL Keith Smith CB Kerry Williams LB Hudson Emeterio LB Matthew Moore RB Juwaun Price
  11. That dumba$$ should be removed from office for wasting the people's time and money
  12. Because universities are managing these funds.
  13. Like El Paso?
  14. Yep. All of these kids think they are going to the NFL when around 2% are drafted each year and probably half of them cut. It's just stupid at this point. The AD's want us to contribute to these collectives to show the "student"/athletes we are committed to them, yet most of them have zero loyalty to our school outside of the money they collect.
  15. Once finals end? Nope. Immediately. You can pick up your belongings at the front desk, or the curb.
  16. My point is that he was offered and committed and signed all on December 20th of last year. He was solid in the middle, any yes a Freshman AA. How many other freshmen are starting at center? We can find a replacement.
  17. Really? You think it was all or nothing with Chandler Morris. I would feel comfortable stating that if CM wasn't playing for us this year, that we would have signed another transfer.
  18. I call B.S. on these numbers being thrown around for CM.
  19. Really? Just replace him with another freshmen/JUCO that will be here for a year.
  20. Bye.
  21. Rogers was gone with no heir apparent. Ragsdale isn't that good. Evans barely saw the field Our RB room is the same today as it will be next year. Porter, McGill and Sibley should be back. Harris will return from injury and Price could as well depending on his recovery and desire to play. Evans had 9 carries for 63 net yards and 4 catches for 10 yards. How do we ever replace that should he choose to leave? WR's? Dime a dozen. EM will find some. Hammond produced? Dear Lord, I hope we can replace nineteen receptions for 238 yards and a TD.
