  1. I would try the Sun Belt Conference webpage.
  2. Okay Marc, Slinker has had 16 years to produce. How much more patient do you want us to be. No offense to UTA, but we should never lose to that program, and we should be more competitive with teams on our level like SMU, TCU, etc.... The only stat. that we are winning at this point are turnovers, that is, if you count who has the most. Our mistakes are the result of poor preparation which points directly at the head coach. I don't know Slinker personally. She may be the nicest person on campus, but she has yet to prove to me in her 16 years that she can coach the talent she assembles.
  3. 4 winning seasons out of 16 and you want to see how she does this year? If we can't offer more than UTA or TAMU-CC, then that is sad.
  4. Nice starting backcourt It's insane that our "ball handlers" have more turnovers than anyone else on the team. Please let this be Slinker's last year.
  5. You've got to be kidding. 5 winning seasons out of 16 is terrible and wouldn't be tolerated anywhere other than NT. If talent is the issue, then it is the coaches fault for not recruiting better. BTW, talent isn't our problem. North Texas is just now getting strong in recruiting? Then whey in the world has it taken her 14 years to get this taken care of? And as Rudy stated, Yes it is the coaches fault when there aren't enough players on the court.
  6. This is a great tournament and a great accomplishment by a future Mean Green player. By Mercedes Mayer Star-Telegram Staff Writer BURLESON - Crowley's Harold Stewart has all the tools -- he's physical, can draw the foul while making circus jumpers and he has a knack for grabbing rebounds. Stewart, a 6-foot-7 senior and University of North Texas signee, earned Whataburger White MVP honors by leading Crowley to a 73-54 win over Southwest in the championship game Thursday at Burleson High School. Stewart scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, both game highs, and added three blocked shots and three assists as he battled Southwest's Luke Tauscher, who finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. "It feels great -- we had to go through a lot of good teams to win this," Stewart said. Tauscher, a 6-foot-10 junior who has committed to play at TCU, was selected to the all-tournament team, along with teammate Eric Jordan. Crowley's John Moore and Jordan Newton, who scored 14 Thursday, were also all-tournament team members. Crowley (15-2), the 10th different Whataburger White Division champion in the past 10 years, took a nine-point lead at 20-11 in the second quarter, but Southwest made a comeback behind Tauscher's low-post play. Tauscher scored six of the Raiders' eight points in the last two minutes of the half to bring Southwest within one at 24-23 at the break. Jeremy Brown's putback gave Southwest a 25-24 lead to start the third quarter, but Stewart's dunk for Crowley started a 16-3 run that ended with 11 straight points and gave Crowley a 40-28 lead.
  7. Slinker has never taken the Ladies to the NCAA, been to the NIT twice and got blown out twice. I believe her only winning seasons were her first, 16 years ago, and the Jalie Mitchell/Rosalyn Reades years. Coaches to replace her? How about Capps at UTA, or the coach at TAMU-Corpus? What have you done for me lately? She has been here 16 years with only a handful of winning seasons and an overall losing record. It's not like she is Judy Conradt or Marsha Sharp having a bad year in the midst of many good ones. I have a feeling that there are quite a few coaches out there that would jump at the chance to coach at NT with the facilities we have for Bball. Please explain how she has become an ambassador? I've followed NT for my 39 years on this earth, and I don't recall her ever doing anything to attract fans other than run her camps in the summer, and that isn't really something to attract fans. I want to believe you, but the facts don't back up your claims unless you know something most of us don't.
  8. 16 seasons, overall losing record, great recruiter that doesn't get the maximum from her players. It is time to upgrade our head coach to match our players and facilities.
  9. Alright Rudy, I'll play along. Here's what I heard the members of the Hardline will be doing now. Corby Davidson: sensitivity coach for Bobby Knight Mike Rhyner: the midday voice of "Smooth Jazz" 107.5 Greg Williams: new bouncer for the Jerry Springer Show.
  10. JJ's other recruit, Harold Stewart of Crowley, scored 25 in a win over Birdville on Tuesday in the Whataburger tournament.
  11. Hey Rudy, I've got some land I'd like to sell you.
  12. the holidays. BTW, nice photo with the article. If I were a single student, I might start taking in the volleyball games.
  13. Didn't care for him because of his above stated love affair with golf. Too much time on the golf course and not enough advancing our programs. His stint here was pretty nondescript. He was hired for his name only.
  14. e-bone, calm down. You sure are comfortable making assumptions about people you have probably never met. I am a season ticket holder and agree with everything LoveMG and baby arm have posted. I also agree with most of your posts except for your hammering of other posters for stating their opinions about the difference in the BASKETBALL coach and the football coach. JJ tends to stress the positive and build from there, while the other coach tends to overlook the ones that are there to support his team and throws daggers at the ones that don't show up. I like JJ's approach and see it filling more seats.
  15. Majerus found out there weren't any Krispie Cremes near campus.
  16. I don't think there is any gloating going on here, just pointing out the fact that UT will just about recruit anybody, no matter their character issues.
  17. Last show of the year.
  18. Two requirements to be a RB at UT, the love of dreadlocks and drugs.
  19. Great player......yes Great person....NO Enjoy your time off T.O.
  20. Stewart from Crowley scored around 28 points last night and carried his team in the 4th quarter and overtime.
  21. Not sure, but they did have a 10 game home court winning streak.
  22. Been to NYC twice. Great city, rude people. So, I have stepped outside of the borders of TX. Chicago people are about the same as NY. TX friendliness was ruined when all the yankees headed this way for jobs in the 80's.
  23. Didn't get to come due to a prior committment, but I saw the lights from Trophy Club. Great job Pit Crew. Too bad the University gives the Talons money to do next to nothing.
  24. He lives in NY now and obviously has embraced their people skills.
  25. I'm impressed with what you all have done to this point with little financial assistance. I am also surprised that the Talons haven't done anything, or am I. I would recommend contacting each sorority and fraternity on campus and ask for help. I would also contact the leaders of other student organizations to see if they would be willing to assist. It appears from reading this thread that some people or organizations have offered/promised help and aren't coming through now which is disappointing to say the least. I would love to help out, but am unable to at this time. I won't even be able to make it to the game because of a prior committment on this evening, but I wish you all the best of luck with you efforts and hope that you don't get discouraged. You all are just starting something that will hopefully be around for a long time.
