  1. Why are people down on Haynes? I haven't seen him practice, so I only have to go on what people that have have to say.
  2. That's good to hear about Thompson. I am looking forward to seeing him play considering I have heard nothing but good things about him. If they handed this out at Media Day, yesterday, why is Micah West still listed if he is academically ineligible? Is Lineberry a Sr. or a Jr. Someone please clarify, because I thought this was his third year.
  3. Who would win a fight between Bill Brasky and Ditka?
  4. I've got an idea, let the students in for free!
  5. Quarterback. Anyone have access to his HS stats? I know he was a dual threat running and throwing, and Rivals had him listed as being recruited by North Texas, Iowa and Houston.
  6. [bUT STILL......I JUST DON'T GET IT?!?!? BECAUSE.......NORTH TEXAS has an all time football series record of 13 W's--5 L's--3 ties versus the Miners of UTEP. They hire a known coach ("2" years ago) with not the best reputation in the NCAA; go from being ranked as low as in the high 90's last year in some pre-season college football rags to getting a Top 24 ranking from one of those this summer; we go to 4 bowl games in a row and can't (at this point) sniff the Top 25 (1 or 2 schools in the MAC have in some pre-season rankings this summer). So I'm confused [what's new?] with all this. Anyone have any answers? Is it facilities? Stadium? Attendance? Is it that they have more fans who are not just talkers but do-ers (with their donations to the Miner Club or Foundation and at the turnstiles)? And no, I am NOT jealous of UTEP because I think NT has a the better upside longterm). Insert KTCK 1310 "The Tickets" drop: "Help me, man?" Why? GMG! ←
  7. I would love to see it, but it is a waste of money at this time. If we were playing with a $60 to $70 million budget, then I would be all for it.
  8. Defensive backfield gets help from freshmen 11:39 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 By BRETT VITO / The Dallas Morning News DENTON – Three of UNT's incoming freshmen who played at least part time on offense in high school opened spring practice by working with the Mean Green's defensive backs. Korey Washington played quarterback at Cedar Park, and Desmond Chatman was a running back at Conroe. Dominique Green played wide receiver and defensive back as a senior at Lawton (Okla.) Eisenhower. UNT returns only one starter from its defensive backfield in senior cornerback T.J. Covington. Briefly ... Freshman Eddrick Gilmore worked with UNT's tight ends on the first day of practice. Gilmore was considered a college prospect as both a tight end and defensive end during his senior year at Alief Hastings. ... Former Sanger standout Chris Higgs, the younger brother of UNT safety Cliff Higgs, has joined the Mean Green as a walk-on.
  9. I think TIgreen01 was being a little sarcastic. Don't you mean Leinart and Bush? Who's White?
  10. I'm not a huge fan of Florida State, and I too think this is a ridiculous ban by the NCAA, but I am going to miss seeing the FSU Chief enter the stadium and throw the flaming spear into the ground. That is one of the best traditions around.
  11. So is Lineberry a Jr. this year or a Sr.? I thought this would be his Jr. year, but I have seen him listed as a Sr. a couple of places.
  12. My guess is North Texas in a new font.
  13. I hope this is posted all over the locker room and passed out in defensive meetings. One thing we have usually been able to count on at North Texas is an effective defense. I hope they take this as an insult and a challenge.
  14. From the Target website: Target's Community Projects, etc... I was kind of hoping the story was true. My wife would have boycotted Target in a minute, instead she will continue dumping our disposable income into these stores. Is there any chance Costco or Kohl's supports something terrible?
  15. There appears to be quite a few North Texas alumni on their staff.
  16. This article is a year old. The Outlaws' are to fund the construction while NT will take care of the maintenance. I have seen visible results of all of this except a public push for increasing attendance and a new stadium fundraising campaign. Wonder when this will occur since it was priority one a year ago?
  17. Adrian Awasom
  18. Last year's offense scored 0 against UT.
  19. He's a bastard.
  20. And the reason I responded Patrick Thomas. I respect the ability of each of these young men, but more so, respect their character.
  21. emmitt smith was a good choice too.
  22. I'm surprised at the OL being ranked 102.
  23. Patrick Thomas
  24. LSD? The second game at Angel Dust is going to be a trip too! (Sorry for the dad humor)
  25. Booger, no doubt. Our OL should be fine, we are deep at WR and RB and the LB's are fine. I thought about the DB's and DL. We should be fine at corner and safety is a question mark. A dominant DL will make those on the line playing beside him better allowing us to get pressure on the QB, thus taking some pressure off of the DB's. QB was also a question, but with our run oriented attack, I think Meager will do fine the 12 to 15 times a game he is asked to throw the ball.
