  1. Examples like this and GGII's are the reason the retention levels are so low. Just follow through on what you promise.
  2. These are the only two points in your original thread that hold true.
  3. What makes you believe this? Have you looked at her overall record for the past 16 years? Please explain.
  4. I don't mind "Fly Like An Eagle" but please don't play this 80 times a game like OU plays "Boomer Sooner" or Tennessee's band plays "Rocky Top."
  5. I appreciated the GB and our pep band, and I also appreciate the members coming on here and defending themselves. Prior to this post, 3 out of 11 were negative, so just chalk it up to a "few" fans that aren't happy. There's nothing wrong with that. You can't make everyone happy. I don't think anyone on here ever questioned the talent of the musicians in our bands. They are far and away superior to any other I have heard. I think the main complaint is that we need some new music selections.
  6. I believe every problem you addressed can be controlled by a good coach. This isn't a pick up team, JJ recruited all of them except Hopkins.
  7. Ever heard of Billy Gillespie (sp?), head coach at A&M? Interviewed for the position when JJ was hired. There are plenty of good coaches that would be willing to coach at a school with our facilities located in the middle of some of the best recruiting grounds in the nation. Please enlighten me on how JJ has turned the program around? Gillespie turned around UTEP in 2 years and has done the same in one year at A&M. How long do you expect us to wait on JJ? He's had four years, and this team got worse as the year wore on.
  8. We also had 15 games at home this year, 16 if you include the tourney. Many more than years past. This team got worse as the year wore on. A sure sign of poor coaching or a coach that has lost his team. And sorry, I a one game improvement in the win column is not showing progress, IMHO.
  9. Time for JJ to go. He's a nice guy, but hasn't produced on the court. It's also time to bid farewell to Slinker.
  10. No 7 footer Justin Howerton 6'9" Harold Stewart 6'5" Take away an inch to an inch and a half by factoring in that they were measured by their high school coaches.
  11. You forgot one other: "We had a coach that knew how to prepare us and make good decisions during the game." Jim Nasium.
  12. I listened to almost every Bball game this year and heard the same thing. At least with football I'd seen us out play and out hustle someone.
  13. e-bone, I'll respond since I am one of "those fans that only attended one game this year." I used to go to all of the games. I came to one this year and watched us get out coached, out hustled, and out played by teams with less athletic talent. I saw us jacking up threes without working the ball on offense. saw is not blocking out on the boards, saw us playing poor defense and watched a coach that doesn't know how to utilize timeouts or substitutions. I apologize if, in your eyes, this makes me a bad supporter of NT. I just don't agree with you. I will come to games when the above is corrected, but for now, the above equals a boring game in my book. You blame our lack of conference movement on lack of support for the basketball program? How about the lack of support by the athletic department. We are hosting a conference tournament and can't get cheerleaders there? Our world reknowned music school's pep band gets outplayed by ASU's? This just sends a message that they don't care, which in turn, causes the fans to feel the same way. They should have gone all out hosting this tournament. Instead, attendance for the remaining games will be an embarrasement to North Texas, and we won't host another for a long time. I don't blame you for trying to get fans out there, it is just they manner in which you try to do it.
  14. I went to one game this year and observed how poorly coached we were and didn't go back. Would have liked to have gone tonight, but didn't get back in town until 8:00pm. From what I have read, JJ should be shown the door.
  15. e-bone, I'm with JohnDenver on this one. You are a whipping, and you contradict yourself. In your first post you state, "The saddest part about this is that the vast majority of NT "die hards" don't care." Then you state in your next post, "And you're right, the real die hards will be at the tournament, which is the point I'm trying to make." Make up your mind. Going on a rant everytime attendance is brought up isn't going to attract anyone. Oh, I won't be there because I will be out of town due to a family illness. Wish I could be there, but it isn't possible.
  16. I'm in and, if it doesn't get the athletic dept. in trouble, would go for a 50%/50% split with Andrew's fund.
  17. Didn't realize we would get Henderson back. Still, I would like the Mavs to aquire defense and rebounding, not someone a former teammate labeled as "soft."
  18. Don't forget to add that you also get to see us get hammered by a sub .500 team by 19 points. Maybe RV should stop dancing and look at the performance of his two Bball coaches.
  19. Yes, and the Indiana game from last year would prove this point. I know Indiana is not ACC, but if we can't sell out Indiana, then who?
  20. Without even seeing next years schedule, 4-12 at best. Bledsoe blows.
