  2. Maybe that explains why he doesn't go out and speak to groups during the off-season.
  3. people with too much time on their hands.
  4. Like I noted in another thread, I don't expect us to beat the LSU's of the world, but I do expect us to beat or be competitive with the TCU's, Tulsa's, La. Tech's, Colorado State's, etc... Even against the LSU's I expect us to play hard. I don't see it now.
  5. We should be competitive with TCU, Colorado State, Arizona, Cincinatti, Air Force, Memphis, Baylor, Southern Miss and adding this years teams Tulsa and La Tech. My biggest complaint isn't necessarily the losses, but how NT has lost. Poor game plan, poor discipline, no adjustments and an appearance that they don't care which are all reflections on game preparation and coaching. DD's offensive system hasn't allowed us to be competitive with these teams and instead of moving forward, I think we are starting to slide backwards.
  6. RV doesn't approve of those games, but he must continue to schedule them until our home attendance reaches a point that we can finance ourselves. I believe RV stated in the past that if we could average 25,000 for home games, they would take the place of the "money" games.
  7. He isn't given a winnable OOC schedule? So, are you saying that we shouldn't beat Tulsa or La Tech? I, nor do I think any other fan, don't expect us to beat the LSU's of the world, but I do expect us to be competitive with the Tulsa's and not get hammered by 52 points while looking uninspired and ill-prepared. Have some goals beyond the SBC.
  8. Maybe it was a prevent defense, but are you telling me we are unable to pass against a stacked line bent on stopping the run? We sure aren't executing the "everyone go long and I'll throw it up for grabs routes" either. The lack of imagination in this offense is appalling.
  9. One problem, North Texas doesn't have the recruiting budget that Southlake has.
  10. I'll give DD and RF credit for running the most unimaginative offense in college football.
  11. Are you saying that we couldn't spread the field and complete a pass when they were 8 in the box and playing man? Ridiculous. Of course DD wouldn't let Hall audible when he saw the defense crowding the line, so why should we expect anything different with a freshman in there? DD's decision to continually run at 8 and 9 man fronts couldn't be any worse than a freshman's audibles.
  12. No discipline: DD slaps a player on the a$$ after committing a stupid personal foul to keep Troy's drive aliv. No desire: DD walks around like he doesn't care. He doesn't inspire his players or the fans. No Imagination: We have former QB's as head coach and offensive coordinator and they run the most unimaginative offense in the nation. Jr. Highs are more creative. Of course, look at the records of the teams these two coaches QBed, and you might know why. No Adjustments: We have the same gameplan for every team, every defense, every situation. No Preparation: OL problems? QB playing poorly? DD has had since last spring to prepare these young men and numerous opportunities to get them playing time the last few years and didn't. It is time for DD to go even if it means losing Mattress Mac's support. If Mac's support is contingent upon DD, then he is causing more harm than good.
  13. It's easy to be a "horn's" fan.
  14. Covington should have stopped running. When I saw it originally, I thought it was a bad call, but the replays showed otherwise. Same for the JT fumble. The replay showed the call to be correct.
  15. PMG, aren't you one of the one's that criticized the greek organizations for wearing their colors and letters to the games instead of dressing in green? Well, now they wear green and you can't differentiate them from the student body, so you assume they weren't there? Come on. The shot of the guys playing flag football was very live!
  16. Meager just needs time and a good coach. How did he screw us? OL looks lost. Again, I will place this on the coaching. Fouts looked good on TV. The replays on TV showed the Thomas fumble to be the correct call.
  17. A good job? Why run the option against a defense that is obviously faster than your offense? You don't. You run the ball at them, but then again, you have to be stronger up front than they are. North Texas' o-line out-weighed Troy's d-line by about 30 lbs. but couldn't push them off the ball. Pass plays? What other route was run besides the RB dump-off and the deep ball? As FFR noted, there was one crossing route by Muzzy, one by Quinn and, I believe, one out-route by Quinn. Other than that it is, "you all run deep and I'll throw it up for grabs." It makes me sick to see how unimaginative DD's offense is when we have the talent of Cobbs, Thomas, Quinn, Muzzy, Jackson, Nwigwe, etc... What a waste. On a brighter note, Fouts looked good on TV and Barnett and James did a very good job calling the game. Great interview with Coach Fry, James mentioned the new facilities, they showed the animated video of the new stadium, although late in the 4th quarter, and James mentioned how this would wow recruits and continue the growth of North Texas' program.
  18. What is that play where the QB fakes a handoff and hurls the ball downfield towards another player? Is this a legal means to moving the ball? Is DD aware of this?

  20. I hope this is sarcasm considering we signed three players from DFW.
  21. SGA should save money and travel time and pick a fight with TWU.
  22. I don't know Coach Etheridge and have never heard a player make any type of comment about him, but 4 All-Americans, 9 All-Conference Players and 2 NFLer's in 23 years of coaching is much to brag about, especially 9 All-Conference players.
