  1. Can't you feel the love.
  2. The owners of the Denton Outlaws were supposed to secure funding and build the stadium with NT maintaining it. Their funding evidentally fell through.
  3. No disrespect to Coach Butler, but please don't let him be our next HC.
  4. Well, he didn't install a balanced pro-style offense, he didn't develop a quarterback and he didn't recruit from the area.
  5. And who is their source that is providing them with this information?
  6. Really? His kids went to Denton High School.
  7. Personally I would just like to see a balanced offense that is efficient running and passing very similar to a pro-style offense. I would be just as entertained with an offense that puts up 30-40 points a game, is balanced and able to respond with adjustments that counteract the defense they are facing and does not rely on either the run or pass to heavily. I also want a good defense. I enjoyed watching our defense during the Booger/Spencer/Hurd/Casey/Buckles/Jones/Awasom/McIver/etc... years because they abused people.
  8. You may be surprised regarding the amount of support I think this would generate in Denton. Odus Mitchell was one of the nicest men I ever had the opportunity to meet. I went to school with his grandkids and lived somewhat close to his home on Scripture St. His family still supports North Texas. There is not a more deserving man than Coach Mitchell for this honor, but knowing him, he would be honored but embarrassed.
  9. Search FFR's posts. He listed them, I believe.
  10. emmitt and Silver Eagle
  11. Wouldn't the money have been spent by now?
  12. A pregnant wife counts as two on the attendance charts and depending on her current hormonal rages, the multiple personalities could add a few more to the total.
  13. The seats were changed out a couple of years ago to get rid of the horrible orange ones, the scoreboards are relatively new and the floor is new. I was at the first game at the "Super Pit" and also remember how it didn't come close to the atmosphere of the Pit. I think that cost us some fans also. Going to the game was an event just to see how the crowd would act, but the design of the "Super Pit" took the crowd out of the game.
  14. I remember and was there.
  15. Anyone have the address for Autry Court? I looked at the Rice website, but they don't list the address and I'm new to Houston.
  16. I remember going there as a kid. My family had season tickets, and we sat in the upper SE corner of The Pit. The used to hand out "clickers" that sounded like large crickets. 4,000 of those going plus everyone yelling would cause your ears to ring for days. I like the Super Pit, but it is nothing in comparison to the old Pit for atmosphere.
  17. That's a tad over the top.
  18. My family moved to Denton when my father took a position at then NTSU. I just grew up around the campus, going to games at Fouts, bball games at the old Men's Gym and the Super Pit, etc... Couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
  19. He was credited with 1 tackle. I wish him well and much success.
  20. That's just callous.
  21. I've been in Houston almost two years and find his commercials annoying, but he is obviously successful in the furniture business. I would hope his true personality is different from "Mattress Mac."
  22. I'll be there.
  23. DRC.com He says DD is one of the most likeable coaches in D1. Too bad he didn't show this personality to the fans, alumni, etc... and chose to bad-mouth everything about NT.
  24. That is in very poor taste and I'm sorry to hear that he would say that to a group of 18 to 22 year olds, but it seems to be his MO. Blamed everything on his tough situation at NT and now blames his players for his demise. If I were RV, I would ask DD to not return for the final three games, turn the reigns over to Kenny Evans or another assistant and wash my hands of this situation. Maybe the media should be made aware of this type of crap and see how their perception of DD changes.
  25. Agreed and makes me rethink my thoughts about Dickey the man. In very poor taste if this is true.
