UNTSportsGuy, don't you work for KNTU? Would the station allow you to do a little investigative reporting? I would like to know if the rumors that I've heard are true. The rumor? That Bobby Ray and DD are good friends, vacationing together, etc... and that Ray has instructed RV that DD is "untouchable." I hope this is not true, but if the head of the BOR is instructing the AD to be hands off with the football coach, then there are problems.

Why? Any fan with an ounce of football knowledge can see that we don't make adjustments.

I played the game and am fully aware of how good coaching can make a big difference. For example, one year the team I played on finished the season 2-5-1. We had the impression that our coach was just there to draw his paycheck. We could talk him out of conditioning work at the end of practice, etc.... The following year, all the players returned running the same system as the year prior, we finish 9-1 losing our only game by the score of 8-6. The difference? We had a coach that we would never even consider trying to talk out of conditioning work and that demanded excellence on the field during practice and games and off the field in the classroom, even before no-pass/no-play. We have the talent to be very successful.

I hope your sources are right and mine are wrong. I was skeptical until I received a couple of emails.

I hope the kid's understand that our concern is for their program. Other than the QB position, which is always going to be a "lightening rod" position, what player has been criticized? The majority of the criticism has been directed at Dickey.

Other alumni that I trust are "in the know." They have requested to remain nameless, so I will call them Deep Throat 1 and Deep Throat 2, and I trust their opinions.

PMG, why would we want DD's dad's playbook? Have you seen DD's stats from when he played at K-State? Not impressive. Replace Flanigan? Why? He's running DD's system. Look at SMU's stats from when DD was their offensive coordinator. What makes you think it will improve with another OC? This is DD's system, DD is the head coach which makes him accountable for what happens with his program. Our OOC record is an embarrassement and not because we have lost to OU, Texas, LSU, etc..., but because of the manner in which we have lost. We are not competitve, the team looks uninspired, the coaching staff runs the same gameplan against every opponent, we are undisciplined and DD points the blame at everything but the obvious. It is time for a change for the benefit of this program.

You are absolutely correct. My first just turned 3 yrs. old, and he can't understand why his little brother can't get up and play yet. Mom is somewhat concerned about sharing the house with all boys, but she'll be the "Queen of the Castle." Oh, and he is already in green.

27.6 points per game is not good. 54 points to Tulsa and Kansas State each. That is a lot of points.

It is losing, not loosing. Nay-sayer? No, I just want to see us to continue to improve. Right now it appears to be going the wrong direction, and DD doesn't appear to have the answers to reverse this trend. A coach who understands what he has to work with and what type of recruits we can pull in? Sounds like DD speak has gotten into your head. Let's see, DD has a new athletic center, new practice fields, new dorms, new dining hall and drawings on the board for a new stadium. Fouts has been upgraded recently with scoreboard, new turf, new paint, etc.... What are we missing to pull in better recruits? I would say that our last few recruiting classes have been good other than not fulfilling our allotment. The talent is there, but the coaching is not. No complaints about RV other than I would be interested in the quarterly meetings and a few other things coming about that he promised. At least RV is enthusiastic. Your right, we are competitive in this conference, but don't you want to move up? As untgirl put it, do you want to flip hamburgers all your life?

What's really a disappointment is that DD talked about playing Cobbs and Thomas in the same backfield back in spring ball. He also mentioned it throughout the Fall, yet other than 10 or so plays, what have they done? Again, there is no creativity to this offense. Why would you spend the money to have a poster created and placed on the back of the pressbox or waste all of the valuable free advertising for the program that USA Today and other media outlets provided talking about Cobbs/Thomas and not capitalize on it?

Included in those 15 loses not counting conference losses: Oklahoma State which is terrible this year. Northwestern State D1AA Tulsa Akron Eastern Michigan Central Florida

I think you have to remember that Idaho won about 4 games the last 4 years, so they are just continueing to struggle. NMSU is in its first year under Hal Mumme and his "sling it around" offense which is a big change considering they were primarily a running team under Samuels. I look for NMSU to improve and Idaho to continue to struggle.

So, based on these ratings, we have dropped 86 spots from last year. Is this acceptable?

Herein lies the answer to growing the season ticket base.

Considering how the administration, not the fans, decided to move NT to 1AA after Fry left, and how the administration made no effort to publicize the team through the 1AA years until the decision was made to move back to 1A, and how the administration never included anything about athletics or supporting your team/university during the freshman orientation process, then I would consider 23,000 for the opener against Tulsa a success and 17,000 returning on a week night after watching the Tulsa debacle to be very good considering we had 12,000 for a Thursday night Troy game 2 years ago. Look at the majority of non-BcS schools and tell me that this isn't pretty respectable. Should it be better? Sure, but it isn't half as bad as it used to be, and DD's constant criticism, poor game plans and boring style of play isn't helping the situation either.

No, PHS Coach, this group of fans didn't take UNT back to 1AA, the administration made that decision. Get your facts straight.

Other than calling this the "Idiot Board," which he got from the posters on Scottie's board and calling the posters on Scottie's board the "Negative Board," what has he done or written that is so bad?
