  1. I hope you are right, because these are the best of the best.
  2. Sometimes the truth hurts. This would be one of those times.
  3. Why doesn't JJ use his timeouts to stop runs by our opponents? He allows UALR to make a run and take the lead prior to the half and it hurts us for the entire game. Year after year he does this and it drives me crazy.
  4. Noticed you only listed the "right" in your example. The "liberal" media is just as guilty.
  5. I did the same initially. Oh, and don't apologize for defaming Keith Whitmire. You'll get many opportunities in the future I'm sure.
  6. Uh, click on the link. Cole is the Player of the Year.
  7. Why hasn't the LaCroix hiring been announced? Is it a sure thing?
  8. Please add me Harry. Thanks in advance.
  9. I agree with everything you posted, but I hope he signs with NT!
  10. I'm both and achieved both because I wanted to, not on any effort of NT. Hope this changes in the near future, it needs to.
  11. It was the best bowl game I've ever seen, especially the last 5 minutes. The momentum shifts, Thompson's drive to tie the score, the OU interception with about a minute left to supposedly win the game, BSU's will on the following drive, the hook and lateral for a TD on 4th and 12, Peterson's TD run on the first play of OT, BSU putting the QB in motion and then the WR throwing the TD pass, going for 2 and calling a misdirection Statue of Libery, behind-the-back handoff to win the game. Best I've ever seen.
  12. Seems we had a pretty good QB from Berkner a few years ago.....Mr. Scott Davis.
  13. What's the bio on Robert Drake?
  14. Does it matter? I have with every move and have been contacted twice regarding fundraising in the 15 years since I graduated. I finally decided to join the NT Exes, never contacted by them either, last year. My impression of the Exes? Was told three times I would receive their 2006 calendar, never got it, and just noticed that my membership expired on 12/6/06 because I was cleaning out a drawer and ran across my membership card. Never received anything about reupping my membership. That is poor communication. To throw salt in the wound, my father was a long term faculty member also, so I have been associated with North Texas since birth and have still only been contacted twice about giving. Back to topic...SMU is grasping at anything while TCU and NT pass them by. Characteristics of someone backed in a corner? Resort to name-calling and irrelevant opinions.
  15. The big advantage we have is the DFW Metroplex viewing area versus the Troy, Alabama viewing area.
  16. Anybody else feel kind of queezy after seeing that the name of the club in the new stadium is Agri-Beef Club and BSU is the Broncos?
  17. See, this is a no win arguement. Will I anyone be disappointed or "up in arms" if they name the practice field after AS? I don't think so. We all have an opinion in this, which is the point of these discussions and the message board. I know that when I think of his untimely death, I don't think of what was "in his system." I drive that stretch of highway quite a bit as it is between my home and my in-laws and think of him every time. I'll just leave the decision up to those in charge and be happy with it.
  18. First, I totally agree the comment about the "rolled doobie and can of beer" are inappropriate and lack taste. To answer your question, I'm not really sure. Maybe the trophy case in the new AC for instance? For what it is worth, there is a room in the PEB named after a man that was instrumental in planning that facility. He was a long term member of the faculty and suffered a lengthy illness and premature death and never saw the completion of this facility. Should that facility have been named after him? No. His office was turned into a memorial conference room. People that don't enter the PEB will probably never know this or see the meeting room, but his family is proud of this honor the university gave in his memory and would have balked at the idea that the entire facility be named after him. Maybe someone should contact the Smith's and let them know that the university would like to name something in Andrew's honor and see what they suggest or what they think is appropriate.
  19. Considering they probably needed multiple story lines, I'll respectfully disagree with you. How many sons follow in their father's footsteps as a head coach for their hometown team? Cliche? I think not. IMO, other than Stone Phillip's ridiculous questions to the kids, this was a good story and look at how important HS football is in the smaller communities across Texas.
  20. You are missing Adler's point. If NT is going to spend $40 million plus on a new stadium, shouldn't we build the best option with the best design, etc...? BTW, your "commuter school" reference shows your facts are off.
  21. I believe there has been "Mean Green" there for the last few seasons. I'll see if I can find a photo.
  22. I believe there are appopriate ways to memorialize Andrew, but this isn't it. I'm not sure what is, but let's consider another former player that was killed while playing for the Mean Green. Bernard Jackson was probably on his way to being our best RB ever when he was shot and killed outside the old Mean Green Inn nightclub on Eagle Dr. This occurred the night prior to, I believe the SMU game, in the early to mid 70's. Should something be named after Bernard? I don't know the answer. Should something be named after Andrew? Possibly, but is the practice field the appropriate "something?" In my opinion I don't think so. adman, what does that mean? First off, I'm not Baptist, but have attended a Baptist church in the past. Are you assuming they are judgmental and wouldn't approve? There are alot of good religious people in this world that believe in the Bible as the truth and believe actions that go against its teachings are a sin against God. But let's not forget that none of us are perfect, and we all have our shortcomings that go against what the Bible teaches. That is why Jesus died for our sins. People die by all methods and means. Could AS's death been avoided by better decision making? Sure, but so could of thousands of others. Again, I don't know if naming the field is appropriate or not and my opinion doesn't really matter because I don't have $1,000,000 to purchase the right. MM did and bought the right to do that within reason. Naming the field after AS is within reason.
  23. Any televised this year? I haven't heard a word.
  24. It'll make you post twice also.
  25. Best friend and best man in my wedding is from Pampa. He alerted me to the show. Neat story.
