  15. Women Alone In First Place, Men Climb To Fourth After The Second Round Of The SBC Championship Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 04/18/2006 Courtesy: University of North Texas PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (4/18/06) – Senior Andra Lancaster surged into a tie for the lead while the North Texas women’s golf team moved in front of the pack at the 2006 Sun Belt Conference Championship from the PGA Village. Lancaster fired a second round of 2-over par 74 and is tied with two other golfers at 148 for the tournament heading into the final round. The Mean Green are in position to win the school’s first ever women’s golf conference championship following a second round of 307. “I’m really excited about our position heading into the final round,” said North Texas women’s head coach Amber Chevrie. “It was a little more difficult out there, but Andra was steady and kept making shots and she’s in a great position”. North Texas is three shots ahead of Florida International and Arkansas-Little Rock with a 610 going into the final round. On the men’s side North Texas moved up a spot to fourth place with a second round of 291 and 12 shots behind Western Kentucky heading into the final round. Individually for the women Jaclyn Golden shot a 77 and is tied for fifth place with a 151, three shots off the lead. Junior Tara Lambright rebounded from a difficult opening round and posted a second round of 75 and moved into 20th place. Halli Richards shot a second round of 86 and has a 160 after two rounds while Brooke Tanner shot an 81 and has a 162. North Texas remains in good position heading into the final round, two shots behind Troy, seven behind South Alabama, and 12 off the leader Western Kentucky. The final round of the 2006 SBC Championship begins tomorrow at 8 a.m.
  16. Strategic Plan I am concerned regarding the revisions between the 3/26 version and the 4/13 Final Draft. I submitted my comments to the Provost.
  17. Well that makes sense. NT buys new uniforms last year knowing a new color was about to be unveiled. Why not wait one year and buy in the new color or jump the gun a little a buy in the new color last year?
  18. No, but RV could headline with DD and JJ.
  19. The new coach at Rice, Todd Graham, has been on the job a little over 3 months and is responsible for raising $3 million for his program. Interesting concept, a personable coach with a positive attitude making a difference. LSU head coach Les Miles and AD Skip Bertman are in Houston speaking to a group of alumni. This is part of Miles and Bertman's annual tour visiting with the alumni giving an update and selling the program. Would love to see this at NT.
  20. I picked Banks, because I think an improved OL is the key to the season, and we know what Lineberry brings to the table. A close second was Thomas, but I think we have the depth in the event something happened to him. JT was another possibility, but if his hamstring acts up, I believe Mitchell and Cox are more than adequate to take over this running game, a running game that will rely on improved OL play.
