  1. I would expect that this is the last big recruiting weekend of the year. Does anyone know how many recruits will be making visits and who they might be? Are the top recruits brought in on "Banquet Weekend" or this week? DD needs and strong closing push.
  2. But you can't offer Coca-Cola products and water?
  3. ??????????????????????????????????????????????? Why would they not have drinks with food?
  4. Why does he have to personally ask? Mean Green Club Soaring To Victory Campaign
  5. 2005 Record By the look of their record, I would say that this is problem.
  6. Okay, now that's a head scratcher. North Texas doesn't have the max. 85 on scholarship last year and graduates 10 or so seniors, then why would we only have 18-20 scholarships to offer?
  7. I was concerned about PlummMG. Listed under the additional clips on the left is a clip titled "Stolen Dynamite Recovered in Parker County."
  8. Please explain why DD wouldn't sign a full allotment when we were under the scholarship limit of 85 last year? I am encouraged by the current verbals and the possibilities still out there and believe this class could be very good, but as with all classes, I'll give them a couple of years before I rate them. Great potential. Any news on the recruitment of a kicker?
  9. Maybe so, but Kobe the criminal isn't one of those things.
  10. I've never read anything that states we were recruiting him.
  11. PMG, I didn't say I was happy with the Athletic Department or DD. In fact, you could probably search back a couple of months and find many of my posts to support that. I just don't understand continually posting the same thing over and over with some wild conspiracy claims without backing it up with solid facts. I guess I decided to be quiet at this time of year to minimize all of the possible negative posts a recruit could read. Recently? DeLoach went to UCLA, Wofford to Arizona, both BcS programs for instance. I didn't like his interviews either and was very vocal about it at the time, but, I must admit, that DD winning the SBC has garnered North Texas more publicity than it has had in many many years. Sure, the SBC is a group of young D1 programs, and I would like us to move up conference wise and win OOC games against the likes of La Tech and Tulsa, but you can't fault DD for the conference success he had. I just think that DD tries to use the Lou Holtz style of talking down his program and building up the competitors. The problem is that Holtz as at Notre Dame playing for National Championships and DD was at a program just realizing some success. DD does need to vastly improve the image he portrays in the media. Who??? If you give to the MGC at the level that grants you access, then they should be happy to have you. I have never heard of this happening from anyone else.
  12. Website dedicated to Esteban. He looks like a great player. Esteban Is The Man
  13. Glad to see us sign some local kids, if Sykes did sign. I find it funny that the FWST shows that we signed him, even quoted him, yet Vito says nothing about him.
  14. FFR, I guess the greatness of this post was lost on many board members. Maybe we should all dress in black for the games.
  15. DC's Texas Football listed Sykes 40 time as 4.8, but they also listed his weight at 220. I read that Santiago was Honorable Mention All-State as an OL.
  16. And PMG, please provide the facts behind all of your rants. For instance, the Helwig/Dickey Sr. Kansas State Conspiracy. Under a year ago, you were touting the excellence and future of this program and the soon to be built stadium on 200 pristine acres.....at the convergence of the I35's..... I don't think the media guide changed that much from 2004 to 2005, or did you just decide to scan over it a second time looking for anything to support your theories? Am I happy about last year? No. Am I a DD fan 100%? No.
  17. I decided to let it go, because there is nothing I can do about it at this point. I will continue to support the team that represents my university, because I will be around long after DD's era has ended, and I don't want to see us start over again from the bottom. There are a lot of things I don't like at DD, but I have chosen to let it go for now, besides, we are in the middle of recruiting season. If I was a HS player being recruited here and stumbled across one of your lengthy diatribes I would have second thoughts. Then again, if I took the time to research your posts over time, I would see that you were touting the excellence of this program not even a year ago and predicting a new stadium in the next few years. You throw out quite a few "theories" that don't have facts behind them, so I question your motives. Either provide the facts or let it go.
  18. Any local news on the DT from Coppell other than the FWST article?
  19. And, once again, they've not taken action and Baylor has adopted the flag.
  20. Spring Westfield was ranked #2 in 5A for most of the year and have an excellent program. I believe Santiago was 5A All-State. I don't know anything about Sykes, but I like his size.
  21. Notice the ref? I'm sure he's telling them that what they are doing is excessive celebration and if they keep doing that he'll flag them for 15 yards. That's my complaint with the SBC refs. I saw much more celebrating at HS games that wasn't flagged or warned.
  22. I'm not sure where this list came from, because the Texas Top 300 for the Class of 2006 in DC TX Football lists the following for Tight Ends: Cammeron Hackney Jacksonville 6'3" 240 4.8 Seth Harley Little Cypress-Mauficeville 6'3" 215 4.8 Eric Mensik Rosenburg Terry 6'6" 245 4.9 Britt Mitchell Kilgore 6'5" 240 4.8 Earl Mitchell North Shore 6'2" 245 4.8 Johnny Moore SA Marshall 6'5" 215 4.8 Franklin Reed Coldspring 6'8" 235 4.7 Greg Smith Montgomery 6'4" 235 4.6 Sam Stelly Beaumont Westbrook 6'3" 235 4.8 Trevor Stuart FB Austin 6'4" 230 4.8 Best of the Rest Kyle Adams Austin Westlake 6'5" 235 4.8 William Ball Austin Westlake 6'3" 220 4.5 Nate Bayless Burkburnett 6'5" 230 4.8 Evan Frosch Midland Lee 6'4" 220 4.9 Cory Grant Alief Elsik 6'3" 270 4.8 J.T. Rudd Cuero 6'2" 235 4.7 Bryant Seidle Cy-Fair 6'3" 230 4.8
  23. And he never weighed 240lbs.
