  1. The student turnout was great, but let's be realistic. The student side was more full than the alumni side, but move the SMUt fans, their candy-stripers and the Green Brigade to the alumni side and what do you have left? Maybe 5,000 students.
  2. Really? Who have we run well against with traditional running plays?
  3. You mean, "Take his loose."

  5. Thought the same thing. My favorite NT uniform, but I would add a couple green stripes down the pants leg.
  6. And no AC/DC! What's up with that. The new intro song was/is worthless. I did hear Thunderstruck at the start of the second half, but this has to be at the start of the game.

  8. 1. I drove in from Houston and back home after the game. Due to breaking various traffic laws, I made it to Denton in 3 hours and it would have been quicker except for the traffic backup at the Lake Lewisville bridge. Made it home in a little over 3 hours. Wouldn't have missed this game for the world, but had my 4 year old"s first soccer game to attend in the morning. 2. Thanks to SilverEagle for the ticket. I never made it down to Section D. Sat with some old fraternity buddies and then spent the second half on that whip of a deck. It's nice to have a beer from there, but the sight lines are worthless. 3. The offensive line was, well, offensive. They need to come together and soon. 4. Thank goodness SMUt outrecruits us every year. Without those Top 100 recruits, we might have hung a "half a hundred" on them. 4. Our defense is fun to watch. The best part about them is they are so young. Our secondary really impressed me, especially in the second half after SMUt scored. The run defense concerned me early giving up 5 and 6 yards on first down, but they seem to be playing a bend, but don't break scheme. 5. The kicking game was impressive from kickoffs, to punts, to field goals/exta points. I was concerned after the UT game, but Hopovac did really well, as did Spencer. 6. I like Phillips, but Wilson gives NT another dimension. Phillips is just too immobile in the pocket, and while I admire his grit, toughness and determination, Wilson should be our man for the next three years. 7. There's not much I hate in this world, but SMUt is at the top of my list. Nothing is better than "Bayloring" them in Fouts. 8. My favorite moment was the two NT students in the parking lot with the cardboard sign. Two SMUt students exited the Port-o-lets, he unveils his "Trust Fund Babies" sign pointing at them and his friend snaps the picture. Classic. 9. My second favorite is hearing the SMUt fans describe our fans as gracious and classy. Let's not stoop to their, or any opponent's, level.
  9. I saw them standing outside the Port-o-lets and couldn't figure out what was going on. Then, two SMUt fans exit the Port-o-lets in their red pants and white polo shirts, he unveils the sign and his buddy snaps the picture. Funniest thing I saw all day.
  10. I like the design of Rutgers Stadium, something we should look at.
  11. So he'll support TSU-SM, which is 1AA, but not his own alma mater?
  12. B.S.
  13. They need to drag a freaking pony around campus and hang it from the Eagle statue.
  14. Depending on when my son's first soccer game ends, I'll be leaving Houston around 12:00/12:30 hoping to hit fouts around 4:30pm.
  15. Article Link DENTON (9/6/06) – North Texas junior libero Jessica Hulsebosch has been named the National Player of the Week by The Collegiate Volleyball Update for her defensive efforts in helping the Mean Green claim the title at the Sam Houston State Tournament. Hulsebosch entered the tournament tied for the single-game record for digs at North Texas and promptly topped that mark with 34 digs in a three-game match versus Southern Mississippi, good enough for an 11.33 average. Not satisfied, Hulsebosch tallied 38 digs in the evening match against Sam Houston State. After posting 15 more in a sweep of Radford, Hulsebosch capped off the tournament with a 39-dig effort in a loss to Louisiana Tech. Hulsebosch finished the tournament with 126 total digs and an average of 9.0 per game. She ranks third individually in the nation in digs with 7.41 per game and the Mean Green rank ninth nationally in team digs. Hulsebosch owns seven of the top 10 single-game dig marks in North Texas history. She also set the record for single-season digs last year as a sophomore, and is only 114 digs away from holding the career mark for the Mean Green. North Texas will host the Mean Green Classic Friday and Saturday beginning with Oklahoma against Sam Houston State at 10:30 a.m. The Mean Green will follow with a match at 1 p.m. versus Texas Southern. They will also face Oklahoma Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Sam Houston State Saturday at 1:30 p.m. All matches will be played at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
  16. Good Stuff here
  17. Only if Arizona St moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas.
  18. Let's all call a fill up the bus with NT fans!
  19. When did they join the "Belt?"
  20. Thanks.
  21. They are there representing North Texas. I'm not in the band, and I wouldn't cheer for UT if my mother was playing for them. Again, those members should be identified and removed from the band.
  22. They should be identified and removed from the band immediately.
  23. I didn't purchase season tickets this year, because I'm now in Houston and my youngster has ballgames every Saturday. It appears that I may be able to make it to Denton for the SMU game by kickoff and would be willing to buy a ticket from anyone that has an extra.
  24. Dinkins???
