  1. Well, I found this interesting. I looked up the Board of Regents on www.unt.edu and the only regent that offers contact information is the student regent. So I emailed her asking how to contact the board, and here is her reply: So, if you think you'll get these read or answered good luck, but there's your contact. Fire away.
  2. You all that wouldn't take Kragthorpe are crazy. I think the positive from this article is that we could find a good coordinator from a major college, lure him to Denton and its family appeal, close to the Metroplex and the recruiting/media opportunities, get the administration to commit to continued facilities improvement and a new stadium and offer him an incentive laden contract based upon ticket sales, MGC memberships and success on and off the field.
  3. Hall of Fame material.
  4. It's amazing how fast they vanished from this thread.
  5. You too?! Actually the screams of terror are from my wife and children.
  6. I loved the quote late in the 4th quarter about how it wasn't fair to compare the SMU team of today with the team when James was there. I kept waiting for them to back this up with the fact that SMU can't pay their players like that anymore, but they referred to SMU not being in the SWC anymore.
  7. From today's Houston Chronicle
  8. I applaud Meager for obviously having thick skin and continuing to work to overcome numerous injuries, but concussions are not to be discounted. His health is much more important at this time. I wish him the best, because he appears to be a fine young man.
  9. Sure would be nice to hear from Moot about now.
  10. Why not? You started this thread based on speculation.

  13. It is amazing what coaching and proper preparation can do.
  14. Besides our young lady, the one from Minnesota ain't bad.
  15. Make that 7 more teams.
  16. Going from a Buick to a Praying Mantis would be interesting.
  17. There was an article on Harbaugh in Sports Illustrated. U of San Diego is a non-scholarship program. I think he would leave there for a D1A program.
  18. Pick good players, hope they perform and keep up throughout the week. That's about it.
  19. 1. "Football is becoming bigger on Saturdays" It was becoming bigger. The crowds will start to dwindle, season ticket sales and MGC memberships will dwindle if he stays. 2. The above makes no sense. 3. I don't think anything will be done until the season is over. First of all, you aren't going to bring someone in in the middle of the season, and two, the majority of the staff needs to go. Typically, if a HC is removed during the season someone on that staff steps into an interim role. I hate to say it, but DD is better than any interim candidates. 4. Hayden Fry came to Denton. That was a pretty big name in the Metroplex at the time. I don't expect a "name" coach needing a second chance to be hired anyway. 5. NT was a rising program and will start to fall if DD stays. Believe it or not, but the NT position is attractive to any coordinator wanting to move up. 6. Denton is a pretty attractive community. Convenient to DFW, yet still has the feel of a college town. It is my hometown and I would move back if the opportunity presented itself. The above would be my response to your incorrect statements.

  23. This is why he must go. GrayEagleOne has followed this program for 59 years, and this situation is the one that will cause him to stop attending games. I have attended games since the mid/late 60's and this is the most discouraged I have ever been. Why? We finally looked like we were headed in the right direction after the 2001 season. Conference championship, bowl game, new facilities on the horizon. The next few years were even better. This was DD's chance to capitalize on our success by reaching out to the fans, improving recruiting, etc..., but DD sqaundered this opportunity. Despite receiving contract extensions and raises he chose to bad mouth the university, his situation, the facilities, the fans, etc... You reap what you sow. DD is driving this program into the ground, losing fan support that has taken so long to attract and slowing down the search for donors to fund our new stadium. Do you think the donors want to be associated with a program that is exciting and on the rise or one that is headed in the exact opposite direction?
  24. Considering the source and the incorrect statements made, I'm jumping on his ass. I apologize for the delay. Next Topic please.
  25. I read a post that ended in "word up."
