  1. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Let's look at past results 2001: NT 45 ASU 0; NT goes to New Orleans 2002: NT 13 ASU 10; NT goes to New Orleans 2003: NT 58 ASU 14; Grenade Celebration #1; NT goes to New Orleans 2004: NT 31 ASU 7; Grenade Celebration #2; NT goes to New Orleans 2005: ASU 31 NT 24; ASU copies Grenade Celebration losing points for originality and gets to go to Lafayette. Total Combined Scores Results: NT 171-62 Grenade Celebrations NT 2 ASU 1 (deduction for lack of originality) Bowl Games: NT 4 in New Orleans; ASU 1 in Lafayette. No disrespect towards Lafayette, but NT wins this in a landslide. Bonus: Sideline Mascot: NT: Eagle ASU: "Where's Waldo?" Result: They speak for themselves.
  2. Clarification: Our mascot is "The Eagles." Our nickname is "Mean Green." Your mascot lives in Jonesboro? Glad I don't. Attendance of NT fans equals NT's graduates? Not that's original. Your combined enrollment isn't half of NT's. I think you offer 5 or 6 doctorial programs. Please don't start comparing academics. You don't want to be the recipient of another Grenade celebration.
  3. Coming from a university that offers this as a major course of study, you are welcome to get started at any time.
  4. Memphis sucks this year. BTW, aren't you all the school that does that "Whooo Pig Sooey" yell?
  5. JR, don't take GGII too seriously. He forgets his medication from time to time, oh okay, all the time. Groansboro? Quoner, is that where you dream of honeymooning with JQ?
  6. Kragthorpe, in his reply, didn't badmouth his situation at Tulsa, the facilities at Tulsa or exhibit a woe is me attitude. What he did state is that he doesn't consider his team a Top 25 team yet. Please show me where what he said compares in any way with what DD has said in the past.
  7. A radio commentator made a comment/comparison that I agree with 100%. If this was a fraternity party and a group from another university showed up and started a riot, the university would expel the fraternity from the campus and suspend/expel the students without another thought. Why is the football team, that is widely recognized as part of the university and by its actions, brings tons of negative publicity to this institution slapped on the wrist and not held to the same standard? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  8. That's not bad compared to the MUTS. All of their players looked like the banjo player from Deliverance!
  9. Here's the Committments and Signings page: rivals.com BTW, Mr. Insall is not listed in their database.
  10. For those in Denton and on campus, this weekend would be a great opportunity to tailgate and support a winning program. Games are Friday @ 7:00pm and Sunday @ 1:00pm.
  11. Based upon his grasp of the English language and proper grammer, I can see why he was highly sought after for this position.
  12. Announcer = Lamar Thomas, former UM receiver. Surprised now? I didn't think so.
  13. This is the most encouraging part to me. I don't know if they offered, but if he attended these camps and comments that NT's facilities are "Fantastic," then I am encouraged.
  14. In related news, the University of Miami inducted 18 members of their team into their school's Hall of Fame for "behavior reinforcing the traditions of our program." Lamar Thomas, color commentator on the broadcast and former UM receiver, was the recipient of an honorary doctorate.
  15. You seem to be contradicting yourself definition
  16. My intention was exactly what GrayEagleOne stated above. I would assume, yes, I know what happens, that based on your location that you are the parent of one of the players. Please know that I mean absolutely nothing derogatory from the post, but recruiting is what feeds the program, just as the draft feeds the professional teams. I too am proud of the effort and devotion the young men that have stuck around have made to the program, but I also know that this isn't high school anymore. These young men are given a free education based upon their athletic skills, so you could say they are paid. Every recruit is rated coming out of high school. Does that suck too? Texas Football, and I'm sure many other publications, revisit and rate recruiting classes annually. Is that a stupid topic? Again, I certainly didn't mean to offend any parents of current players, because I respect their effort, but when you play major college ball it comes with the territory.
  17. Pruitt was the star of the class. Chambers and Nobles provided valuable depth on the OL as JUCO transfers. Holman is turning into a great linebacker. Bailey, Baldwin, Byerly, Harrison, Ieans, Curt Jones (Never set foot on campus) and Raymond are all gone. Dupree and Hutchinson never lived up to expectations. McNac was another JUCO that added depth at LB. Dupree Jones was sent to a JUCO and never contributed much. The rest are servicable but aren't impact players. I would say 10 of the 24 were busts, and NT can't afford to have over 40% of a class not contribute.
  18. I thought he was upset, because the Okie on his left/our right crushed his Marlboros.
