  1. A pregnant wife counts as two on the attendance charts and depending on her current hormonal rages, the multiple personalities could add a few more to the total.
  2. The seats were changed out a couple of years ago to get rid of the horrible orange ones, the scoreboards are relatively new and the floor is new. I was at the first game at the "Super Pit" and also remember how it didn't come close to the atmosphere of the Pit. I think that cost us some fans also. Going to the game was an event just to see how the crowd would act, but the design of the "Super Pit" took the crowd out of the game.
  3. Anyone have the address for Autry Court? I looked at the Rice website, but they don't list the address and I'm new to Houston.
  4. I remember going there as a kid. My family had season tickets, and we sat in the upper SE corner of The Pit. The used to hand out "clickers" that sounded like large crickets. 4,000 of those going plus everyone yelling would cause your ears to ring for days. I like the Super Pit, but it is nothing in comparison to the old Pit for atmosphere.
  5. My family moved to Denton when my father took a position at then NTSU. I just grew up around the campus, going to games at Fouts, bball games at the old Men's Gym and the Super Pit, etc... Couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
  6. He was credited with 1 tackle. I wish him well and much success.
  7. I've been in Houston almost two years and find his commercials annoying, but he is obviously successful in the furniture business. I would hope his true personality is different from "Mattress Mac."
  8. DRC.com He says DD is one of the most likeable coaches in D1. Too bad he didn't show this personality to the fans, alumni, etc... and chose to bad-mouth everything about NT.
  9. That is in very poor taste and I'm sorry to hear that he would say that to a group of 18 to 22 year olds, but it seems to be his MO. Blamed everything on his tough situation at NT and now blames his players for his demise. If I were RV, I would ask DD to not return for the final three games, turn the reigns over to Kenny Evans or another assistant and wash my hands of this situation. Maybe the media should be made aware of this type of crap and see how their perception of DD changes.
  10. Agreed and makes me rethink my thoughts about Dickey the man. In very poor taste if this is true.
  11. I think it may be wise to wait and see how DD acts over the next few weeks. The rumor mill seems to be pointing to the fact that he won't go quietly.
  12. Not that Quoner needs anyone else taking up for him, because he does a pretty good job of this himself, but I think the point he is trying to make is that Playmaker's post is full of factual errors.
  13. I thought it was callous and classless to require DD to wear a hat with your company logo on it on the sidelines during a nationally televised game. MM is all about getting his name out there and I understand that, but there are better ways to do this. Do I hate to see his money go away? Sure, but if he really cared about North Texas he would have been donating money years ago. Donating only because of DD justs confirms that MM's committment is not to North Texas but to Dickey.
  14. I just don't see the big donation coming from MM any time soon. He is dumping a huge amount of money into his Westside Tennis Center to make it a more multi-functional facility and not entirely focused on tennis. He has lost a lot of money trying to make tennis work in Houston and has given up. So tcooper, unless you have some factual information you want to share, I would suggest you go back to placing all the blame for DD's demise on Flanigan.
  15. GMG Hall of Fame. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.
  16. Two totally different things, and I would say Dunham plays the family man in all of The Ticket's schtick.
  17. Lacks class and dignity? What would make you have that sort of opinion about one of our most vocal alumni, one of the best play-by-play men in the game and a great voice in the media for our university?
