  1. Heck, I'd like to know who is in charge of his rehabilitation. They should be working on flexibility, range of motion, muscular imbalance, etc...
  2. I think when the lead doctor describes it as a minor miracle, then it is a minor miracle. The previous night the doctor stated that he didn't think Everett would ever walk again. Now I agree that the doctor's preparation and quick response to the situation were instrumental in his recovery, but to go from not walking ever again to walking out of the hospital a day later in miraculous. Anyway, this is great news for Everett.
  3. No, in the article there is a picture of Dominique Green and Kevin Ealey. Unfortunately, the caption under Kevin's picture spelled his last name incorrectly as "Easley."
  4. I would also love to know the status of: Gilmore Chatman Owusu-Hemeng Banks
  5. Could UNT go Green? Ok, so North Texas is already Green, but what about Dominique Green? I have been asked over and over about the cornerback's status the last few weeks. The former starter seemed to be getting more practice time on Tuesday, so I asked head coach Todd Dodge about Green’s status. Dodge said everyone is getting a look in practice. It wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement for a player who has been in the dog house ever since he arrived for fall practice out of shape, but it did leave the door open for another player to see some time at cornerback. At this point I don't see what Dodge has to lose by giving Green a shot. UNT has been torched in the passing game in each of its first two games. For more on Green and the Mean Green, see tomorrow's edition of the Denton Record-Chronicle, which includes the DR-C's weekly all-sports UNT notebook.
  6. Canopies from WalMart Academy also sells them. I believe EZ-Up is a good brand.
  7. Couple of good quotes:
  8. Shouldn't you be at the mall? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  9. Here's a couple of links to answer your questions: History and name changes of North Texas NT History Eagle=mascot Mean Green=nickname Look Under "Traditions" and Mean Green Moniker Side Note: I find it interesting that in 1922 the eagle was chosen over the lion and the dragon as the mascot. Can you imagine what it would have been like with Dodge arriving, changing the uniforms and NT being called "The Dragons" just like SLC?
  10. I would think that Drake, Johnson and now Leppo could play center or guard in this system. Just sign good quality lineman. I trust the Leftwich to develop them and find the right spot for them. Can't have too many lineman.
  11. Nice articles on Everett in today's Houston Chronicle. Seems like a great young man. My prayers are with him. Chron.com
  12. I may be wrong, but I think Dodge taught Mizzou the SLC offense when they signed Daniel.
  13. Poneez, I'll extend an apology for my reaction to your post and offer you a welcome to our board, but let me be clear about something. I watched SMU in the 80's with the Pony Express, etc..., remember the probations and why they were handed down, and I remember comments from past SMU administrators/BOR's regarding NT student graduating to be housekeepers for SMU grads. I thoroughly dislike SMU, SMU's athletic teams and most of the students and alums I have come in contact with over my 41 years have done nothing to disprove the elitist attitude that comes from the Hilltop. You are welcome to come over here anytime and discuss our programs, continuing the series (which should be played every year IMHO), etc... but don't tell me SMU has more to lose by playing us than NT does.
  14. Think back to when you were 18 or 19. Putting on weight that first year or so of college was no problem. These young men will continue to fill out and fit in nicely at NT.
  15. I'll trust Dodge's judgement over any armchair QB.
  16. You are welcome to come on here and say "nice things" about our school and team. You are also welcome to have a friendly discussion, but this smacks of elitism and is a perfect example of why SMU is so disliked:
  17. Too bad we don't have an ignore button on this board.
  18. Hey, we've been willing to play you for years, but being a typical Pony you chose to run. Rattle off the record between SMU and NT all you want. I don't think anything prior to 1970 is terribly relavent today. In fact, nothing is probably relevant prior to SMU receiving the much deserved death penalty. What's the series record since then? SMU needs to lose the elitist attitude it wears so well. Oh, and based off of the comments on your board, most of your fans were surprised you won.
  19. They'll be fine considering they caught about 20 passes between them last year. They should be well rested.
  20. Sorry, and I expect this will be deleted, but that is complete bullshit. Trust me, SMU's program has fallen behind NT's. Why you ask, let me list the reasons. 1. When was the last time SMU went to a bowl game? 2. When was the last time SMU went to a bowl game with a team that didn't have a payroll rivalling the Cowboys? 3. You and the SMU faithful are on a "death watch" with Coach Bennett, while we have a new coach in place that has brought us more positive media attention than we have ever had and will bring us a winner. 4. SMUt lives on its past, way in the past, accomplishments. 5. NT lives on the excitement of its future. This isn't about SMU having very little to gain by playing NT, it is about SMU being afraid of what a large successful Metroplex public program will do to your little private, pun intended, program. TCU has the same fear, but not as much as SMU, due to their recent and consistent success. Get over yourself and don't come on here making backhanded comments about my university and my team. SMU made their bed years ago when you decided to blatantly cheat and thumb your nose at the NCAA, live with the consequences.
  21. Look At #5 Here Interesting who is right behind him at #6.
  22. Brown played QB at SLC????
  23. What's the status on Gilmore?
  24. I like your thinking and editing skills.
  25. What an assinine post.
