  1. If you know you have sold more tickets by the end of May than you had all of last year, at least give of last year's number. What's the big secret anyway?
  2. I would replace the coaches pictures and links to their bios with pictures of The Dancers and links to their bios. Excellent work.
  3. From the DRC: www.meangreensports.com Article
  4. No, my guess is that he is in the market for binoculars and what wondering what magnification strength to purchase.
  5. Yes, but how many of the 100,000 badmouth their alma mater on local radio every chance they get? Sarcasm noted, but you are correct. We don't have a need for a notable alumni, that badmouths his alma mater, on a well-known sports station in one fo the largest markets in the nation. He will always be an "OU Wanna Be" and nothing more.
  6. I'm not saying, nor have I ever, that NT should field a team right now. The football stadium is the most important addition to athletics at this time, and nothing should be done until this facility is funded. What I am saying is baseball should be added at the right time, especially if the choice is baseball or men's soccer. I am a native of Denton, and yes Denton will support baseball. Your concern about funding the program is moot considering Mr. Goldfield has already offered to underwrite the entire program. BTW, he has the cash to back up his offer. Your "blanket statement" regarding "a core of solid fans, "friends of the players" fans and a few, a few local baseball fans...that's it." is baseless and ridiculous. Neither one of us knows how many fans would attend NT baseball games, but I do know that a baseball team and its facilities will draw more fans and bring more revenue than soccer, which would be lucky to have 100 fans and would generate $0.
  7. I guarantee you that if the NCAA had the nads to institute this again and again for the likes of OU and Alabama that continue to get caught cheating it would lessen cheating. Every team knows that the NCAA won't do it again, so they aren't worried about it. Kind of like arresting criminals. Stop doing it and nobody is afraid to break the law.
  8. I'll take the "lots of people," they can have Craig.
  9. Seems the thugs from Miami were on a future schedule at one time, and I'm sure UT, OU and LSU will continue their rotation of hosting us.
  10. TastyGreek and KRAM, soccer is a bigger blackhole than baseball ever thought about being. No attendance and horrendous travel over come fair attendance and a regional schedule. Also, please don't use the Outlaws as an example. They've moved playing fields every year and are a bunch of kids that none, or few, of us have ties to. A college baseball team will draw in Denton. If NT softball draws a couple 100 then baseball would attract a couple thousand. Plus, a baseball stadium can be rented out to high school teams for playoff series which would bring teams and fans of both teams to spend their dollars in Denton. Plus, if RV were smart he would hire one of two very successful college coaches that grew up in the Denton city leagues and played for DHS that have strong ties to the community, Tim Tadlock or Skipper Johnson. I appreciate your love of soccer, but it wouldn't draw flies.
  11. Reallly? Oh, and he runs a 5.8 forty. Hope they put him on a strength and conditioning plan (speed and agility based) real soon.
  12. Welcome to the board new2NT. Trust me, we are all thrilled to have Riley at NT.
  13. Not overly impressed with a HS team that loses to the boys from South Park one year and some chick named Jeannette the following.
  14. Let's just be successful and nickname Todge "Papa Todd" and have him hang around Denton like Paterno has Happy Valley.
  15. Yes, excellent post. I think Vizza will be as advertised and come in here and make us forget about our QB problems. This young man, based on reports, is an extremely hard worker, was efficient in his high school's spread offense and has the ideal size of a D1 QB. Plus, he will continue to grow and mature. If he is the competitor I hope he is, he will welcome the competition and Todge will be nothing but fair. I also think that Riley will redshirt, because of Vizza's ability allowing him time to fill out a little more. Eighteen year old's are far from fully matured physically and he could stand to put on a few more pounds. I also think physically Vizza is more "ready" to play behind a suspect line and take some of the punishment that a D1 QB must be ready to absorb. This is a great situation to be in.
  16. The first of the above was too disturbing to copy, but this is just damn funny, and will probably come true
  17. Thanks for bringing this back to reality.
  18. I know. Makes you wonder if some of the posters on here actually read a thread past the title.
