  1. Did Fritzl's Christian beliefs cause him to do what he did? No. Did the Muslim beliefs of the young man in the article cause him to threaten the dog? Yes. Big difference.
  2. Man, how I would love to have this schedule. That is why CUSA is more appealling than the WAC, but then again, the Sun Belt is getting better.
  3. And right in the middle of the Sun Belt footprint.
  4. Yes, they were, but I'm still a fan of playing all games in Denton.
  5. Did we get penalized for Ryan McCoy or did he not ever officially enroll?
  6. Umm, the fact that the student is Muslim caused him, because of his Muslim beliefs, to threaten the dog thus causing the student teacher that requires the dog for assistance to forgoe the remaider of his student teaching responsibilites. I would say his being a Muslim and the beliefs he has been taught are the cause of this issue and article.
  7. Steve's from Burleson and Sean is from Texas City. I guess they could be distant relatives.
  8. NT had many fine student athletes under DD that performed very well in the classroom, but he also took numerous chances on young men hoping they would pan out. At the time, it was one of the best ways of uncovering hidden gems, but the APR that was recently instituted caused this practice to bite NT in the hind quarters. I don't think I was off point, just responding to TFLF who wants to blame the AD and the academic support staff.
  9. You're right. The coach isn't responsible for bringing in borderline academic athletes in a desperate attempt at success on the field.
  10. The end of a great career by Katya Muller. TJ has this program headed in the right direction. Let's hope he sticks and provides some stability to this program.
  11. Schellenberger isn't that smart. If he was, he would realize that you should never go public with your plans. They should be in their silent phase right now!
  12. Sounds like it is time for Vito to do some digging. Something just doesn't add up with all of this, and the smell gets worse every day.
  13. Is it still standing??? (Sorry, but it is the off-season and there isn't one post about the hotel/stadium/ect.. on page 1)
  14. That is correct. My father replaced Dr. Cearley.
  15. Just so we are all clear: PHSCoach dislikes Todd Dodge and The Fake Lonnie Finch dislikes RV. Someone is always to blame in today's world, so I'll pick DD, Slinker and "Jitter" Nolen.
  16. The incoming JUCO lineman didn't factor in to our current situation. If he does, in the future, then that one's on Dodge. I don't know what DD did or didn't do throughout the course of his day or what he required of the young men. I do know that their were many outstanding students on his team, Scott Hall comes to mind, but I also know that he signed quite a few risky kids too. Doesn't make the kid bad, but when you didn't make the grades in HS, you probably won't in college.
  17. So you issue isn't Dodge, but the athletic director! Nice job of pointing that out in your original post in this thread. What's not to follow? Your point, since it changes slightly with every post. You should join the primary currently being fought over by a female lawyer/NY Senator and the man that runs from his pastor, not to name poitical parties, with all the flip flopping you are doing.
  18. Classic. This just makes me laugh. Great post.
  19. Thanks, I already was aware of all of that. You must be an attorney with the spin you put on your replies. Did you even read my post? I stated that the coach at the time, DD, signed players with shaky academic backgrounds, thus without their athletic skills, they probably would have not been admitted to North Texas. DD knew he was taking a chance and it is now biting NT's football program in the a$$.
  20. I appreciate the fact that you are a coach and the kids mean the world to you. I know first hand how coaches worry over some of "their kids" being the son of a former coach. But, I also understand that these are young men, 18-24 years old, who sign a LOI knowing that their scholarship is up for renewal annually and that they have a responsibility to do their work in the classroom as well as on the ballfield or court. Face it, NT took some chances on some young men that they shouldn't have taken chances on and it has come back to bite them in the butt. DD was the man that made the decision to take these chances and RV obviously approved it.
  21. Who knows who should sholder the blame, but I don't think Cinnamon Sheffield, no I do not know her, is the person to blame. Are the athletes being brought in, Fleming, TJ Raymond, etc..., by the coaching staff(s) really prepared academically for college? I can take my Nissan to the Mercedes mechanic everyday, but it will always stay a Nissan.
  22. That is total B.S. and typical of trying to protect the coach that recruited these athletes and lay blame at the feet of those hired to monitor academics. Dickey provide the athletes for the academic support staff and advisors to monitor. You don't think he took a few chances on some players? You want me to list the names for you? RV doesn't need to come on here and explain the situation. What he needs to do is sit down with Vito and the media and get this in the newspapers. He should be proactive and not wait for the angry mobs of anti-athletic faculty, Denia residents, etc... to show up on the AC lawn.
