  1. Pretty close. I'll give you three guesses as to who it was...the first two guesses don't count.
  2. No, I won't agree. I would attribute Waters statement to being uninformed and RV's recent statements as a "bag of nothing." RV was non-commital, vague, etc... in his responses. North Texas has never said it was going to renovate Fouts, never, ever. When RV arrived there were plans to move the athletic offices/locker rooms/training rooms to the physical plant building over near the intramural fields, but when Eagle Point came available those plans were trashed. Facts: NT has a new athletic center. NT has a new tennis center. NT has a new softball complex NT has a new dining hall/dorm at the A/C NT has new seats, scoreboards and flooring in the Super Pit. NT has renovated Fouts with new turf, scoreboard, paint, signage and expanded deck. NT has renovated the old Liberty Christian football stadium in to our soccer stadium. NT has renovated the old Liberty Christian gym into our volleyball facility. NT has renovated the old Liberty Christian campus to include offices, locker rooms, study halls and indoor practice facilities for women's sports and golf. Please quit reading more into every statement someone makes regarding NT athletics.
  3. emmitt, why so sensitive regarding Dodge2007's posts. Here are the facts we know since Dodge arrived: 1. Dodge stated that the QB battle would be won by whoever performs the best. 2. Dodge clearly stated that Meager was ahead of the competition coming out of Spring ball. 3. Woody barely participated in Spring ball due to his class schedule. 4. Dodge signed Vizza by telling him he would be given every opportunity to start. 5. Has Dodge said anything positive about Woody's quarterbacking abilities? Seems to me that your issue with this goes beyond ability.
  4. Good Lord. No wonder RV cancelled the quarterly meetings and never posts on here. It amazes me what some people can make out of one comment they read in the paper.
  5. So based on the picture on the website, we will have a new helmet, black shoes and the uniform from DD's last game.
  6. Now Rick, you know they wouldn't have been there had we been wearing white helmets.
  7. Why? Because of a white shell? Penn State Texas Auburn South Carolina
  8. Favorite Helmet of All-time? 72-83 Way to win friends and influence people I'm assuming that strapJR is in reference to your jock strap. Always makes me laugh.
  9. Exactly, which explains the high octane, high scoring, creative offense he put on the field along with his OC that was a former QB.
  10. True BIS? Still, comparing us to SMU is not an apples to apples comparison. *Enrollment difference. *Large Public University vs. small snotty private *Growth potential vs. small snotty private. *33,000 enrollment vs. 8,000 *Projected 2nd largest university in the state vs. 8,000
  11. As has been reported previously, this was considered but the playing field can't be lowered due to the water table, or something of that nature, so adding seats where the track is can't be done. Well, it could be, but just like the current first few rows at Fouts, you couldn't see the game. Comparing our attendance to SMU's is ridiculous. Our undergraduate enrollment is 4 times their total enrollment and we have outdrawn them consistently the last few years with far less attractive opponents coming to Fouts. DKR-Memorial is not even remotely as close to I35 as Fouts is. Also, they sit in the state's capital and are the state's flagship university with a much greater athletic history than NT. Please try to compare apples to apples. Best post in the thread:
  12. They rate Desormeaux ahead of Haugabook? Lost credibility with me there.
  13. Positive: Why would he illustrate concrete plans for a 30,000-seat expandable stadium if he didn't think a donor was close to commiting to this project? Negative: the feasibility study has shown that the money just isn't there right now. IMHO, I choose the positive and believe he threw out the "negative" as protection should the deal fall through.
  14. I believe our new Pres. made an appearance in D.C. on her tour. Her office may be able to provide you with something.
  15. CBL, creativity and artistic expession aren't ridiculous, but expressing them on the side of a head shop is not the appropriate place. These buildings looked like crap and were an eye sore. Everything doesn't need to be beige but should be presentable. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I wish the buildings could have been restored to their original appearance, because they were historically appealing. I firmly believe we should preserve history, but not deface it. I don't believe socialism has a place in America, and yes, you did make the comment that Al Qaeda had reasonable goals, but you did state that you didn't agree with how they choose to acheive them.
  16. I would have like to have seen the buildings saved also, but the "graffiti paint jobs on most of them and the remaining ones across Fry from the old Tomato spot are ridiculous. That is poor planning to allow those buildings to be painted that was. The aesthetic and crowd associated with Fry Street is burned out hippies and all that goes with them. That is the perception in the Metroplex.
  17. www.jcfootball.com Also posted in recruiting section.
  18. I may be wrong, but isn't there a difference between the "toothpaste" green that showed up on some shirts last year and our true, new kelly green?
  19. If you want to base helmet choice on the success realized while wearing it, you would have to consider the following: The white helmet of the late 60's, Greene, Ramsey, Shanklin era The Apple Green "Flying Worm." Only helmet to garner a Top 20 ranking. The hunter/emeral green script. The new helmets will look great, but will take a little getting used to for me.
  20. True, but that also served as the "whipping boy" for two of the Cowboys' Super Bowl wins. They are the Minnesota Vikings of the AFC.
  21. I prefer green helmets, but I do like the new white ones. The only thing that would make them better would be putting SOW on the side and not NORTH TEXAS. I also agree that kelly green helmets probably wouldn't look that good.
