  1. A WAC article with freaking Star Wars references. Some days I wish I had never gotten out of bed.
  2. No, I don't think you will need to be there at 10 or 11 to get a parking spot in that lot, but don't be too late. I showed up later than planned for the Navy game last year and ended up having to park in the lot behind the new chemistry building. Yes, that building over on Hickory. Two, I believe there are metal barrels for dumping coals. And Flyer, don't ever ruin your Crown with Coke.
  3. We need a win considering your attitude this week. I guess they could add that 3,500 to the season ticket number and the 34,000+ undergrads and say there are 40,000 plus presale tickets and drive everyone away thinking it is sold out.
  4. Couldn't agree more, and I would love to see what we would do had one of us run across a picture of some painted up Tulsa fans. I applaud the three in the picture for their spirit and "who gives a shi%" attitude.
  5. No glass, the rest is fine. Have a safe trip down and a good time in Denton.
  6. One Man's Pain
  7. Woody was an athlete that Dodge wanted to move, Woody wanted to be a QB and went elsewhere. Don't see that as a problem with the program. Woodward/Moreland: Kickers that didn't perform. Tomlin: decided NT wasn't for him, nothing against the program. In fact, I would say he made his decision too early by getting caught up in the Coach Dodge hype having played for him at SLC, and didn't research the university. Grade issues regarding players grades at a JUCO are not indicative of how Dodge runs the program here. The "few young men" you refer to made allegations that were later proven as false. Players of the same race came to the support of the coaching staff. Again, I don't see anyone leaving because of how the program is run. It is quite obvious to me that TD runs a tighter ship and expects more out of his players on and off the field than DD did. If players leave because of this, then I support TD.
  8. Fouts is functionally obsolete. That's the most tactful way to put it. The money will not bankrupt the athletic department as the stadium fund will be separate from the athletic budget. Walk around the tailgate area and meet some of the posters from the board. You'll get a history lesson on all things North Texas, get some great food and drink and will meet friends you'll have for a lifetime. I moved to Houston a little over three years ago and hate this time of year. I used to go to every game, but now only make a couple a year and really miss it.
  9. Me too. I would love to have the large photos of Weasel Johnson and Jordan Case, plus a couple of helmet lights.
  10. I wish there was an emoticon showing a bullet to the head, but this will do.
  11. Maybe I'm missing something here, but would someone, preferably a poster that keeps bringing this up, show me the list of the "so many players leaving this program." I see the following: Padron: reported as medical reasons, could have been something else, but I really never saw him being on the field much. Fentriss: knee injury ended his career. Garden: left a very deep position. My opinion is that when he transferred there was no depth, then he saw the talented incoming freshmen and JUCO's and decided to concentrate on academics. Again, just my opinion. Edwards: Didn't have the grades to transfer, so really never should have joined the team. Gilmore: grades. He had the same issue under DD, so I don't take this as an indictment on TD's program. Horton: never made it to campus because of academic shortcomings None of the above listed "I've got problems with Dodge's program" as their reason for leaving. Players leave teams every year. Please show me your cause for concern.
  12. Great news on The Pourhouse. Regarding memorabilia, GGII might be someone to talk to. The McDonald's on I35 near North Texas Blvd. use to be decorated with all North Texas stuff, helmet light fixtures, photos, color scheme, etc..., during the Fry/"Flying Worm" era in the 70's. I wonder what happened to all of that stuff. There were great black and white photos on the walls that I would have loved to have.
  13. She chose ACU because she missed her high school curfew.
  14. I live in Northwest Houston/Tomball area and received about 5 minutes of light, I stress light, rain yesterday. That's all from Gustav.
  15. Welcome to North Texas and Mean Green football. Not sure about Orange Lot parking, but the lot on the east side of the Super Pit across from Clark Hall is a good shady spot. Drinking is fine, just pick up your trash. It's a short walk over to the stadium. Mean Green village will be fun for your son, but I think the bounce house and activities of that nature are for Jr. Mean Green Club members. Costs $20 for the season and your child receives: Jr. Mean Green Club T-shirt Team Updates Pre-game parties Mean Green Buddy (Player from the team is matched up with your child) Fun Zone discounts Photos with the players and Scrappy Football Spirit Line Discount Tickets to basketball games. Follow the band into the stadium and you will be able to pick your seats. Concessions: Dogs, Sausage on a stick, funnel cakes, kettle corn, pizza, soft drinks/water, popcorn, candy, etc... The kicker? Waterless urinals. Don't ask how they work, just trust me on this! Don't forget your sunscreen. You'll be facing the setting sun.
  16. Why will it take the offseason to fix Special Teams? If that is the case, then we need another special teams coach. It should be pretty easy: 1. Fumble the kick-off in the endzone? Pick the ball up and take a knee. 2. Field a kick-off 5 yards deep in the end zone? Take a knee. 3. Kick-off or punt, catch the ball, then run. 4. Punt coverage unit? Block the man in front of you, unless you are a gunner, then play your lane. 5. Kick-off coverage unit? Stay in your lane and make the tackle or hold the returner up until help arrives. 6. Return teams? Don't block in the back, hold on to the ball. There's more, but you get the picture.
  17. Kind of like OU does something other than Boomer....oh wait, I mean Tennesse and Rocky To.....hmmm, I guess I miss your point.
  18. What recruits didn't stick that would make this class, or last year's that much better? Padron? Nope. Fentriss? Left deepest position on the team. Please be specific. And don't tell me he doesn't have the "college football experience" to adjust properly. Ask Mitch Maher if Dodge knows what he's doing. This is a team full of freshmen, RS freshmen and sophmores basically that is very young but will grow up together. PHS Coach's opinion is biased based upon who he is related to. He just can't be objective, so I discount his thoughts.
  19. Proving once again, Nothing good happens after 12:00am.
  20. Dodge will still be here. With the construction of the new stadium, success on the field and new donors pouring in daily to latch on to the new power in NCAA football, Dodge's salary will have skyrocketed. Jones? He'll be coaching some JUCO after massive failure at SMU.
  21. Gee and we have a Democratic majority in Congress where the real power lies. Oh, and nice response to KRAM1. I see sarcasm is lost on you.
  22. Yes, welcome. Student or alumni?
  23. I like Bush
  24. True, but many of the players listed are also in the process of getting ready for the season. Isn't Monday typically an off day for the pros?
