  1. Don't forget how unfair it is to those 65 teams involved in March Madness.
  2. I played HS baseball and never travelled on Spring Break except to baseball games. It's not that big of a deal, as least it wasn't to me.
  3. Please, please, please let the off-season pass quickly. It usually passes like a kidney stone and this year's looks to be a big one.
  4. Someone in Denton will have to put forth the effort since I now live in Houston.
  5. I think our last game with TCU was in 2002 in Fort Worth and we should have beaten them. On TCU's post-game show, one of their coaches said they wouldn't schedule us again. Of course, our program took a downturn a couple of years after that and they might have reconsidered, but I don't see them scheduling us while TD is coaching.
  6. It'll be nice when our games are "can't miss" with our fans.
  7. Still being relatively new to Houston, 3 years, and with two small children, you can't go wrong taking them to the Herman Park area. The zoo and the Children's Museum are great although the museum can get pretty crowded. The Aquarium is downtown and is a private venture similar to the Downtown Aquarium in Dallas, so it can be a little pricey. It is easy to find though. As you enter downtown on 45 just look for the ferris wheel. Here is their link: Houston Aquarium Kemah, which is about an hour south of Houston is another good place to take the kids with food, drinks, the beach, rides, etc.... Here is their link: Kemah Boardwalk Aquarium The Rice Village area is great for places to eat and drink, but not as kid friendly as what I mentioned above.
  8. There's no way of knowing if they don't ever try it.
  9. So true considering it is NT's responsibility to secure television rights for the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
  10. Why does everyone get so worked up about this? He's just stating the truth.
  11. With today's economic climate, the thought or idea of a big donor or a corporate sponsor dumping millions in to this project is not very realistic.
  12. And what repairs to the AC were you referring to in your first post?
  13. What repairs are needed at the AC? I would think they would be the responsibility of the contractor considering the facility hasn't been open that long. Bonnie Brae is in the same condition and is the same number of lanes as when I was a youngster playing golf at the old NT goat ranch back in Jr. High, and I'm now 42 years old. This work would be the responsibility of the City of Denton, not NT, and you know how fast they get things done when it involves street repairs in Denton!
  14. Proving once again, even if NT doesn't change its logo again, we have the God given right to critique logos in the off-season. Anyone dare to guess what their helmet stickers will look like?
  15. As did Mitchell, Rust, Fry, Moore, Tyler, Simon, etc.....
  16. Care to elaborate?
  17. We had a golf course that was a glorified goat ranch. These players have access to numerous local courses that are close to campus and have much better facilities than the old NT golf course ever thought about having.
  18. You are extremely accurate in your assumption. I know they were popular movies, but I've never been a sci-fi fan. To each his own.
  19. No, the Star Wars references are though!
  20. Do you know the details around her resignation at UTA?
  21. What's sad is that we had the talent to have a good defense. I can't state how happy I am that Deloach is back home. Imagining a resurrection of the 01'/02' defensive performances with a team running last year's offensive with one more year of experience has me pretty excited about the 08' season.
  22. In simple terms, here's my expectation/analogy of this year's defense versus last year's. It's like being a boxer. Last year we were a counter-puncher but often out of position to connect with the counter-punch. This year's team will stand in the opponent's face and punch them in the mouth. I can't wait to see the difference and didn't realize how much I had enjoyed watching our defense until it came up missing last year.
  23. I'll believe it when I see it.
  24. Done. I attached the article below from a past issue of the North Texan North Texan
  25. Was Andy even that big? I loved watching him play and would love to see him as a coach. Could you imagine the line Lefty, with Andy as an assistant, would put together? Back to the topic, I would rather see our OL in the 290 to 300 club as long as they maintain their quickness. I think this is too heavy though, for the DL. Yes, I know, but Booger was the exception, but the 280 to 290 range for the DT's and the 260 to 280 range for DE's.
