Yep, in fact his main reason for leaving the island was the lack of committment on the part of the administration in addressing deficiencies in the facilities.

League City is flat, but I think 3 miles under sea level is a bit of a stretch. Let's all hope League City is spared, not only for the citizens, but for all of the refineries in this area.

He's recruited many of the above, it is the signing that has been the issue. Good line play will solve a lot of these problems. Really hated to lose Atkinson to UTEP. He would be a welcome addition.

Alleva Hopes To Make Lsu-unt Decision Wed.

Well, the latest models show Houston may not be a good option. Man, where's playmaker when you need him to give us the facts on Ike? -
I'll be there neighbor. Early bold prediction, We'll whip Rice's ass.

This is a great website: Wunderground.com Tracking Models Here's the latest: Most forecasters state that the accuracy really goes down outside of three days, but it appears that this storm may hit South Central Texas. The writer that led a blog discussion on Gustav mentioned that he had found the GFDL model (blue) as one of the most accurate, which it was for Gustav. The model above basically has hit coming up I45, or just to the west of 45, which would hammer Galveston and create a storm surge into the Houston Ship Channel. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Alleva Hopes To Make Lsu-unt Decision Wed.
UNTLifer replied to Will to Win's topic in Mean Green Football
If that Ike runs through Baton Rouge, in the vicinity, why would one of your four choices in moving the game be New Orleans? Secondly, Atlanta would get more rain and create travel issues for both teams as the rain hits the gulf coast. Shreveport would also receive rain depending on how fast Ike moves inland, leaving Dallas as the best option. Three of the four options are moronic if the storm hits Baton Rouge. Wonder if they would consider Houston? -
So you agree to give Deloach a couple of years to get his players in for his defense to be successful, yet you criticize Dodge for a lack of success? Not sure I follow your logic, but hey, this is a message board to post opinions.

Sounds like he may have been hanging out with Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Hollivay.

How about writing an article about why NT is struggling? Number of underclassmen, DD leaving the cupboard bare, having to recruit to a new system, etc... You just appear to be taking shots for the sake of taking shots. How about a little research? Like this: A Clear Picture of the Situation Oh, and the title of your post here doesn't even come close to describing your column. You dedicate one column to the SBC "Looking Better Than Ever," and spend the rest of the time criticizing the program. Maybe you should have titled this thread the same as the column, or did you think you wouldn't get any hits if you did?

I respect, even though you are a soccer fan, what you are saying, but there appeared to be much lacking in the planning department for such an important video message. They should have tested the video on the scoreboard with Fouts' PA system prior to the game. There should have been meetings with all involved, AD, band, cheerleader's, etc..., to get them up to speed and to let them know when this video was going to be shown. There should have been an announcement to the crowd prior to the playing of this video. It should have been teased throughout the first half, so that many stayed to watch it and were expecting something. I wasn't there, as I couldn't get in to town from Houston this weekend, but from what I have read, it was poorly planned. When you are asking people to invest in something of this nature, the presentation should go off without a hitch. People want to trust those in charge and know that they will do a good job of delivering the product they are promoting, in this instance, a new stadium. When "those in charge" can't deliver the presentation without issues, it makes the prospective investors wonder how well they can deliver the final product. I support the stadium 100% and believe that it will catapult this program to new heights, but it is disappointing when it appears that much thought and effort was put into the video and none put into the showing.

My thoughts/opinion (not that they matter): 1. Burning Riley's redshirt: Poor decision, period. There are roughly 18 receivers on the roster. Then again, maybe T. Dodge doesn't forsee his son being a QB in college, but I have a hard time believing this. 2. The problem with the offense is the line play. Drake is out, Gill is undersized and the JUCO's obviously have an issue with hard work if they are coming in as out of shape as they were/are. Address this issue and see how much the skill positions improve. I'm still baffled as to why we never offered Stefan Huber. I would load up on as much beef as possible and weed out those that don't appear to care (see the JUCO reference above). 3. Special Teams: No excuse for the poor play. I thought the JUCO kicker, Knott, was an all-american? Where's his leg strength? Why is it that when we play the UT's, KSU's, LSU's, etc... of the college football world that we start our drives inside the 20 on a consistent basis? We never have field position and it is usually the results of poor coaching, poor decision making, poor coverage and poor tackling. 4. Holding TDodge Accountable: Let's look at the facts. Dodge was a successful college coordinator at NT prior to going the high school route. He is a good coach, but is getting a big dose of reality right now. Also, he really has only had time to recruit one class. I would consider his first class impressive considering he didn't start recruiting until January and this year's class was also highly ranked as one of the best in the history of North Texas. Does he get a pass for this year? I say yes, but there should also be improvement over last year. He is trying to change the entire system and the majority of the roster is comprised of freshmen, redshirt freshmen and sophmores. 5. The team is extremely young: As noted above and in other posts, this roster is comprised mainly of underclassmen. Next year expectations should begin to go up as these young men mature and get another season in the system under their belt. If marked improvement is not realized next year, then Dodge should be held accountable and questions should be raised. 6. Fan Expecations: We have two types of fan. The first type is the long time fan that has endured more disappointment than one could ever imagine. We, yes I fall in to this group, are tired of the brief glimpses of success and the annual thougths that this is finally our year to move up the food chain. The second type is the "young fan" that jumped on board during the SBC championship years. That was all they knew, and that is what they expect on a yearly basis. Their patience is short and expectation are high, too high sometimes. Type one is tired of being patient and Type 2 has no patience. 7. Comments about TDodge leaving and RDodge transferring: Todd, where's he going to go? Back to high school? Doubt it, too much pride. To another university? Who's going to hire him at this point. He took on this challenge knowing that he must succeed, and I believe he will do everything possible to succeed and we will all enjoy his diligence. I just hope that he is not so tired of all of the negativety from the fans that he bolts once this success is realized. This is probably one of the most exciting times in the history of North Texas football. We have a coach that has been highly successful, instituting a system that is foreign to many of us that grew accustomed to DD's run based offense. The athletic department is finally pushing for the construction of a long overdue new stadium, and has improved facilities across the board while working with a limited budget. They haven't been perfect, but they have also done much more than any administration I can ever recall. Patience is needed at this time, but will be hard to come by. It will be fun growing with this team through the frustrating times of today, because I belief the rewards in a year or two will make today seem like a distant memory.

Um, didn't happen. -
I would say he has quite a bit of material to work with. The problem is that most of them are freshmen or redshirt freshmen. This is a very young team, and I will be excited to see the talent that is added to this group and the strides they make this year and in the next 2, 3 and 4 years.

This Explains Everyone's Complaints With All The Running.
UNTLifer replied to Green P1's topic in Mean Green Football
Your disdain for the Dodge hire is amazing. Why wouldn't the offense work? It has worked against Navy, SMU and the Sun Belt schools with primarily sophmores, freshmen and redshirt freshmen. -
And coin operated beds. Request a room on the east side so you aren't awaken early in the morning by golf balls pelting the roof from the TWU golf course.

Could The Wac Be Looking To Move Back Into Texas?
UNTLifer replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Football
A WAC article with freaking Star Wars references. Some days I wish I had never gotten out of bed. -
No, I don't think you will need to be there at 10 or 11 to get a parking spot in that lot, but don't be too late. I showed up later than planned for the Navy game last year and ended up having to park in the lot behind the new chemistry building. Yes, that building over on Hickory. Two, I believe there are metal barrels for dumping coals. And Flyer, don't ever ruin your Crown with Coke.

We need a win considering your attitude this week. I guess they could add that 3,500 to the season ticket number and the 34,000+ undergrads and say there are 40,000 plus presale tickets and drive everyone away thinking it is sold out.

Couldn't agree more, and I would love to see what we would do had one of us run across a picture of some painted up Tulsa fans. I applaud the three in the picture for their spirit and "who gives a shi%" attitude.
