  1. Yes, this quote and reports that state Dodge and Deloach don't look like they get along on the sidelines has me worried. If Deloach were to leave, I think this sends a bad message to potential replacements. Deloach is a well respected defensive coach and if the situation is so bad that he will not return, who would want to follow that. Tasty, is this what you are hinting? Deloach and Leftwich are to two coaches with the most "skins on the wall" that we can not afford to lose.
  2. She was answering a third grader for goodness sakes, so this must be kept in mind. Biden's a moron that hasn't improved even after spending many years in Congress. Palin, as they would say in sports, has more upside.
  3. I have to disagree with your statement. Here are the OL/DL that have arrived since Dodge was hired, either as a walk-on, gray shirt or scholarship player. OL: Jared Acton, Sterling Carter, J.J. Johnson, Matt Tomlinson, Coleman Feeley, Gabe Hollivay (JUCO), Nate Jenkins (JUCO), Nick Leppo (Gray shirt), Aaron Fortenberry, Dan Holt (transfer), Jacob Kaiser, Troy Kokjohn, McMillan (gray shirt). DL: Tevinn Cantly, Jesse DeSoto, Kyle Russo, Jordan Scoggins, Troy Franklin, Joe Hawthorne, Alonzo Horton (grade casualty) He currently has committments for next year from OL Keenan Flax and DL Jacob Boutwell. Your arguement would hold more weight if it was factually correct.
  4. We must keep Leftwich.
  5. That was two months ago and much has changed since then.
  6. I agree with what you are saying except I believe the talent is there, it is just young. My main concern is that the team does not appear motivated, at least it didn't against Rice, and is getting blown out. I long for the days of Don McGee jumping up and down getting the team fired up before they ran on the field. Wonder if Don is available to help out?
  7. Walker was suspended due to his issues with Denton County Law Enforcement officers. Many of us have requested the AD to hire employees/coaches with ties to North Texas. Clayton is a letterman.
  8. That is sad considering the Fun Run has been part of Homecoming weekend since I was at NT in the 80's.
  9. Besides Dibrell, what other players at this position have left? I don't think Coach George is the reason Dibrell left town. Tina Blog
  10. Remember, Dodge was our OC back in the 90's when Maher and Co. were putting up some pretty impressive numbers. In fact, Maher and some other Letterman were there for the Dodge hiring press conference and were very excited about the hire. Dodge has proven that his system will score points, last year, and rack up the the yards. The issues in the red zone and the total defensive meltdown the last two years have been the major issues.
  11. I hated to see the golf course go mainly due to some nice memories of a late night on the #12 green.
  12. Where is this available? I would like to listen.
  13. The should open it up to any and all. Charge more for non-students/faculty/staff/alumni and include in their entry fee a couple of endzone tickets.
  14. I'm saying the situation must have really been bad for Dibrell to leave in the middle of the season. That, or something else caused him to leave school. You just don't see the second leading receiver of a team, playing with his high school quarterback that basically recruited him here, just up and leave in the middle of his sophmore year when he would have been the man among the receivers the next two years. It just doesn't make sense to me.
  15. A lot of coaches. It's called opportunity, and no coach has ever turned down an opportunity to coach a D1 football program.
  16. by the time he graduates. Williams making adjustments
  17. Queing FFR's photo in 3, 2, 1...
  18. Oops. Meant MLS. Now the old Sidekicks games were entertaining. They should bring that back.
  19. I did this to my wife and got slapped last night! Back on track: Wish I could make it up from Houston, but a family reunion for the in-laws and a work committment have me stuck here. Great idea Rick.
  20. They should offer that an hour or so before every home game in the stadium and for a small fee. Kids would eat this up and it would force people into the stadium prior to the second quarter.
  21. Buyouts are b.s. Why should a school have to pay off a coach that doesn't produce? Does this happen in any other line of work? Regarding Deloach, I really don't know how he would manage the program. I don't see Deloach as a "Dickey guy," but one that will do things his way.
  22. Here are my concerns about the current situation: 1. It appeared during the Rice game that the team quit trying. They also came out at the start of the game and after halftime with absolutely no emotion. This all points to issues with the coaching. Players will put forth the effort for a coach they respect. It appears that either the players don't respect their position coaches or Dodge himself. 2. The is a lot of smoke around this program right now, and where there is smoke, there is usually fire. I played off the racism charge last year as two disgruntled players trying to get back at the coach, and that may still be true. Now we see our second leading receive leave the team in the middle of the year which leads me to believe there is more to this story than is being published, Dodge's own high school players that he recruited leave the team for "medical reasons" then pop up at a different school ready to play, the assistants have been off limits to the media since day one and it appears through various grumblings that some of our most experienced assistants are unhappy and we are being told that things will get much worse before they get better. 3. I have concerns about Dodge's ego. Sure, successful coaches, or any successful person for that matter, have big egos which typically drive their success. I'm just afraid that Dodge won't be able to swallow some pride and admit he has made some mistakes along the way. It appears that he is losing the team and some of the coaches and clearing the air could do some good, but I'm afraid his ego may keep him from doing this. I hope I'm wrong, but I support these young men that made the decision to play for my university and want to see them succeed. I think Dodge deserves another year, but if there are fundamental problems that are hurting the program as a whole due to his conduct, then he should be gone after this season.
  23. Just one correction of the blog, they state Johnson is a freshman while he is actually a JUCO transfer and will be a Jr. this year.
  24. Great game last night from start to finish. Hey KRAM1, the paint drying championships are on ESPNIII tonight. The preempted MISL to bring you something more entertaining.
  25. There is something fundamentally wrong with having a signature line longer than your posts.
