  1. I would say the following were contributers, or are appearing to be: Kylie Hill, Gabe Hollivay, J. Knott, Cam, Weathers, T.J. Covington, Lonnie Chambers, Damion Nobles, Charles Dupree and Eli Hutchinson from recent years. The jury is still out on A. Adams and Big Nate Jenkins while Horton, Edwards and Roman were busts from TD's classes. Other recent, 03-08, JUCO signees and my thoughts: 03: Arthur McNac was a back-up linebacker who filled in nicely for an injured, I think, Koryee Wyatt. Dupree Jones didn't play much. 04: Travis Thompson was a linebacker that never reached potential due to injuries, if memory serves me correctly. I listed Covington above although he got burned, ran his mouth and made ill advised mistakes enough to drive the fans crazy, but his 100+ yard int. return at Utah State was great. 05: Willie Ransom was pretty good, but I don't think he lived up to his billing as a game changing DE. Chase Pistole added DL depth, Jimmie Chaney was moved between TE and OT and Gary Oubre was an undersized DB with an oversized attitude. 06: Brian Carlson added depth to the OL, Trent Stanley, a JUCO AA was a bust and Woody showed flashes of brilliance before moving on. 07: Evyn Roman was a bust. 08: Adams and Jenkins could pan out, J. Knott struggled at times, Horton and Edwards were busts, Hollivay ended up starting on the OL and Hill looks to be the best of the bunch. Kevin Galbreath and Michael Pruitt were excellent finds for us out of NEO back in the early 00's.
  2. I would disagree with this part of your post conisdering Royce Hill was ranked #37 as a DB by ESPN and played in numerous HS all-star games, as did Darien Williams. You could also throw Dwaylon Cook and John Shorter in to this group. I think these all have the potential to be great DB's for NT. I do think they missed on a few of the JUCO's, but that was more personal issues than talent. The four listed above should have been allowed to adjust to college ball and not be thrown on the field immediately. I think it will help them in the long run, but we suffered because of it this year.
  3. It started snowing at my office, 1960/Champion Forest area, around 2:30pm and continued in our part of town, Klein/Tomball, until about 9:00pm. It was fun to see, but my kids were disappointed none of it stuck to the ground.
  4. Thanks for your opinion. I could've said the same about your musical selections, but didn't want to derail your thread.
  5. This is true, but I question the validity of this statement after the consumption of parking lot refreshments.
  6. I would vote for McCoy.
  7. I don't know if they were poor evaluators of talent, it is just tough to throw true freshmen out there. I would much rather see us get to the point of being able to redshirt the majority, if not all, of our incoming freshmen and allow them to adjust to college and mature physically.
  8. Waterless urinals being listed as sanitary. What liquid sanitizes the bowl, the next person's urine? Based upon what I've seen consumed in the parking lot, this couldn't be true.

  10. I'll watch as many as possible. Loved these quotes: Favorite
  11. I hope it is Warren. He's highly rated, can transfer at mid-term and wants to be here. Of course a few other highly rated young men expressed interest in playing here but ended up elsewhere without an offer from NT.
  12. The number of posts made me think that, then again, Cerebus set us straight.
  13. when NT got docked a number of scholarships. yahoo!.com
  14. Haven't they hired Locksley from Illinois?
  15. Mr. Overly Sensitive, I think Adler was directing his "troll" comment at dallasite21 considering he/she just popped up out of the woodwork.
  16. Thanks, Mr. Vito.
  17. Just for clarification: I do not like USC, never have, never will and Pete Carroll makes me dislike them that much more. With that said, who did USC really play this year? The PAC 10, outside of USC and Oregon State, was pretty weak, Notre Dame was weak, they exposed Ohio State, like UT will also, for not being athletic. I just think USC should be #5 behind OU, Texas, Florida and Alabama. I personally think UT and OU should be playing for the national title.
  18. I think you may have taken the quote out of context. Here is the quote including the paragraph above it: I take it to mean that the coach's concern is on improving the program to get it to where they want it and that this may take a few years. Just my take, but I'm sure TFLF will come on here shortly and clarify.
  19. Damn it! I only see us competing with SMU and Baylor on one recruit, which ended up verbally committing to SMU. Oh the humanity!
  20. What lies? Who says the school isn't serious about football? Maybe you feel it is your duty to point out the futility of the status quo, but is it needed on almost every thread, and are we, the diehard fans, the appropriate people to be targeting with your anger? I agree that we should demand better than the status quo, I just think Dodge should be given time. How much? Next year should there should be marked improvement across the board. I, too, went to the Rice game and witnessed the worst North Texas effort in my 40 years of following the team, and that was extremely discouraging. Considering all things, I've just grown tired of every post being highjacked with posts that say we should fire Dodge, RV's a liar, the university isn't serious etc...
  21. Well, I've received PM's from player's parents also. I always read these reminding myself that they are, at times, way to emotionally invested to sometimes post objective thoughts. Has RV "hitched his cart to Dodge's wagon" or can the department not afford to be paying two past coach's buyout clauses?
  22. I have a few questions: Did Dodge ask that his assistants all get raises? Will Dodge and RV be gone after next year?
  23. Right there with you. If it wasn't for SNL, I wouldn't have heard of any of these and I tend to change the channel when the "musical" segment begins.
  24. The above by CMJ is why I stated "huh." Yes, Nolan was unhittable from time to time, but he could and probably should be defined as a thrower that relied on an overpowering fastball. Maddux was always a pitcher with a mastery of the strike zone like no other.
  25. Doesn't matter. She should be a wearing North Texas merchandise if she is working for us. She can wear all of her Butler stuff off the clock.
