Do you agree with UNT Banning Alcohol at Greek Events?
Baby Arm! replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Some guys think that you're a lot cooler if you kick back and drink a few beers............And those guys would be right! -
Why is it that these people have a problems if the Athletic Department doesn't make a profit? How much money is the Journalism or English department making for the University?

MUTS until they learn to make BBQ properly. I always preferred "Little Tennesse" anyway

Odds are that 2015 game in Jonesboro will never be played. Mizzou will buy out ASU on the return game..... It's a common tale.

It's happened before. Thats how the Mountain West was formed when original WAC schools decided they didn't like a 16 team expanded WAC and left to form a new conference.

people still talk about Hayden Fry too.

Briles is not a Tech alumnus. He went to Houston. Besides Briles just signed an extention with Baylor, new stadium on the way, got the program going in the right direction. Why go to Tech???? I don't think he'll move from Waco until Mack Brown finally calls it quits and the big cigars from Austin come callin' Kingsbury can be Tech's Gundy... Young coach and former QB comes home

I'd like to see Texas State invited

The 10 Best Small Towns In America: Denton, Texas
Baby Arm! replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Sorry Denton, I'm not seeing it. -
You can not expect to have a rational discussion regarding the Texas Longhorns on this board. There are too many that have such penis envy and/or hatred of the Longhorns that it excludes rational thought and unbiased opinion. It's almost as bad as trying to discuss SMU

Don't expect the Tx State / UTSA football rivalry to flourish anytime soon. It's most likely the game will be only this year and then who knows? Next year they are in different conferences and UTSA's OOC schedule is full for the next several seasons.

I used to ride the Texas Eagle quite a bit before I made the move down here and was commuting every weekend back and forth to DFW. I like the train but you have to take it for the experience. Dont take it if you are in any kind of a hurry and dont have the full day for travel time. It's a scheduled 8 hr train ride between Fort Worth and San Antonio and thats IF the train is running on time which it usually isnt. The Eagle leaves Ft Worth approx 2pm, You would be lucky to get into San Antonio before midnight. The pros of riding the Eagle: 1) You can relax, read, sleep, watch movies etc on the train, 2) It's WAY more comfortable than a Southwest flight, 3)it's actually cheaper than a tank of gas, or a plane ticket w/ cab fare to and from the airport 4) You actually get to meet and talk to your fellow travelers, and 5) It puts you right in downtown. Walking distance to several hotels, the Alamodome, and Riverwalk. No need for cab fare or rental cars. But, i f you are the kind of person to get stressed about delays and are in a hurry... Skip it. .

I think either weekend around the first week of November is better. Then the Mean Green fans can join me at Wurstfest!!

Ohhhh those pesky facts. TFLF will have a tough time accepting that to fit in with his UT hatred skewed view of history. I've heard it said that Royal's motivation for teaching the wishbone to Switzer et.al., wasn't 100% altruistic. Royal needed a strong rival using black players in order to convince the powers that be towards intergration. It was a tatic that Royal learned from his friend Bear Bryant (who he also taught the wishbone too) . Bryant had scheduled his Crimson Tide against an integrated USC team in 1970 knowing his squad would probably lose. When they did lose in a lopesided fashion Bryant was able to use that as reason to convince the Bama powers that it was time to intergrate his team.

Conversation With A Cashier
Baby Arm! replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
that was a bit further south. That intersection was called Four Corners. It's where 720 and 423 merged, when north about a mile and then split into a Y. 720 went west into Little Elm, 423 north up to 380. -

Im so old that we used to call that 'The Y' because 720 and 423 used to split there. -
Did you hear that Craig James killed 5 hookers while at SMU???

Im no lawyer but they don't do this at any other stadium that serves so I wouldn't see the need at Apogee. As long as we take resonable precautions, train all the vendors in the required TABC courses, and stop serving in the 4th quarter we would be covered liabillity wise. That being said, I'd like to see some kind of shuttle to and from the stadium on game days. College kids today are lazy and will use the long walk as an excuse not to attend games. We need to remove every excuse people give for not going to games. The bridge is a good step but we can do more.

Don't rush the field for a regular season conference win. "Act like you've been there before and you'll be coming back"- Tom Landry
