  1. Uhhh, no. I don't have a chip on my shoulder regardarding ol' PMG. Geeze dude, chill. Got a pretty inflated image of yourself there don't ya pal. I was just pointing the seemingly contradictions in your postings. You can't have it both ways. You can't call an AD or BOR hiring someone they know and are familiar with a buddy or crony hire, and at the then say a Head Coach hiring someone they know and are familiar with isn't the same thing. You think this former is a crony hire because you don't like who got hired. But you think the latter is reasonable because you DO like who got hired. Some might call that being a hypocrite but I don't wouldn't go so far as that. JK, Seriously though I just think it's interesting to see how your opinion has changed along with the cast of characters. BTW I wasn't the 'business as usual' crowd. I knew Dickey wouldn't be going anywhere and would get at least 1 year to try and turn it around, but I was no fan of DDBall.
  2. My oh my how time (and a coaching hire) seems to change everything! This from a guy that rallied against the 'cronyism' hiring of Dickey?? Why is one a "crony" hire and the other "just as soon hire those they have a familiarity or past with and won't feel like they are taking a chance on an unproven commodity" ?
  3. At least Major Applewhite did some time as a GA at Texas before
  4. Did EP ever get his degree? If so, and he really wanted to get into coaching he should 'pay his dues' with an assistant job on the high school level.
  5. I believe that Jamario was ranked as a 4 star recruit by rivals but as soon as he signed with UNT they downgraded him to 3 star. I could be wrong but I seem to remember hearing that someplace.
  6. You may be right. Just an idea. BTW the press conference isn't open to the public. It's against NCAA rules (go figure). Two years ago on signing day after the press conference RV did a tour of the new athletic center had a seperate meeting with fans with Dickey talking about each signee. Last year they did a meeting w/ video of each signee a couple of weeks past signing day. It was during spring football and after a gomeangreen.com bbq for the coaches/players and families. Anything like that would be fine. Forgive me for being greedy. I just can't get enough Mean Green Football!
  7. That's the football banquet, I'm talking about signing day.
  8. I think this is a great idea. We should do something similar. This would be another selling point to join the Mean Green Club... http://www.latechsports.com/article.php?ar..._01_09_10:02:53
  9. Some football History.... As good as the artcle makes them sound it should be noted that that version of the Dallas Texans is considered to be the worst NFL team ever. They were the last NFL team to go bankrupt. They were such a failure that they couldn't get anybody come watch them, and players weren't getting paid. The team was going to fold during the season but the NFL assumed ownership of the team and moved the team base from Dallas to Hershey PA, and the team finished the year playing the rest of the games on the road. The league sold the franchise and it was moved to Baltimore the next season to become the Colts. Also some trivia from this Dallas is the only city that has been the birthplace of 3 NFL franchises that all have gone on to win Super Bowls. 1952- Dallas Texans(NFL)...Baltimore Colts -Super Bowl V 1960- Dallas Texans(AFL)...Kansas City Chiefs- Super Bowl IV 1960-Dallas Cowboys(NFL) --Super Bowls VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII, XXX
  10. Zeke, I've attended a wedding of aggies where they played the Aggie War Hymn as the recessional. Maybe you can talk her into choosing "Let's give a cheer" as you and the bridal party exit.
  11. I doubt that he going to be a coordinator here. Just becasue he as OC for the Zoomies doesnt translate to OC for the Mean Green. I would expect that Ford will get the OC nod, (with a lot of involvement by Dodge) Petersen will probably be a RB or WR coach.
  12. When is national letter of intent signing day? I was just wondering if the athletic dept will do again a special presentation for alumni, friends and boosters (NCAA regs prohibit fans/boosters from attending the press conference...go figure) Anybody heard anything? RV(Glad to be Green) are you reading this? Would appreciate the info. I'm so excited about the recent going ons in Denton that I was considering scheduling a vacation day to attend!
  13. Enjoy... http://texasprepxtra.rivals.com/showmsg.as...984&Style=2
  14. Cut her some slack, she talking to her home town TV station about the people in her hometown. I'm sure they did a lot of voting for her. GMG.com isn't soley responsible.
  15. 14-0. Looks like David is packing more than a slingshot!
  16. Why not hire these guys??? They do the bird show at the State Fair so they are already in the area for part of the fall. There busisness is bird of prey flyover a crowd! http://www.naturalencounters.com/
  17. I'm a NOC (Network Operations Center) manager. Most of my time is spent making sure I put the right cover sheet on my TPS reports...

  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnatio...e=communityfbIP Overall state football rankings ESPN.com High school playoffs have ended, bowl season is in full swing, and the NFL playoff picture grows clearer by the game. In the midst of this football bonanza, we got to wondering: How do the states stack up across all levels of football? We asked our NFL, college and Scouts Inc. editors to rank the states and District of Columbia at each level, then combined those rankings for an overall number. The rankings you see below connect to a further description of each state. They aren't, however, the final word. We're interested in your description of football in your state. Did we get it right? Did we miss an important fact, player, coach or game that would alter the rankings? Let us know what you think, and we'll add the best submissions to that state's pages. THE RANKINGS 1. 20. I may be an optimist but even with a new coach and a transition to the spread offense, I still can't see how it could be worse than the Dickey/Flanigan offense that we've seen the past two years. Im not saying we're be 12-0, heck I be happy with anything better than 3-9.
  21. Science believes Todd Dodge's tears cure cancer, but we'll don't know because Todd Dodge has never cried.
  22. I heard he was out as the UAB coach. Rumor is they were set to hire him but the UofAlabama BOR nixed the deal. Apparently they felt that UAB was offering too much $$$$. Last I saw on the boards last night was that he was the leading candidate at LaTech now.
  23. I like what George Dunham said on the Ticket Duck! Dodge Ball has come to North Texas!
  24. Yes but Royal Crown is not? Do they even make RC cola anymore?
  25. With all the crazy fonts and colors, Is it just me or are PMG's posts beginning to look like a psychopath's ransom note made from cut up magazines??????
