  1. Yes. You picked the right guy for a program dedication bow-up post, Honduras! See you Saturday?
  2. Oh I agree, but if you've watched LaRussa's career, he's much more match-up driven than any other manager. Hopefully, Wash learned his lesson here and doesn't try to get in a chess match with the roster. He has more talent -- he can't forget that in the heat of the battle.
  3. German was a bait move to get La Russa to change pitchers. He tried to out gamble the town drunk and lost. I'm not thrilled with it, but I get what he was doing -- change pitchers and then bring in Torrealba or Moreland. I'm shocked La Russa didn't overmanage the situation right back. If you want to be mad at Ron, be mad about the Punto walk before Craig's hit.
  4. This looks like a good fit, you guys!
  5. Oh no...didn't think that at all. I was just trying to head off a trend where other people start slapping down names and info or calling out others for doing less. Sorry about the implication...
  6. Let's not paint with the "everyone who makes jokes doesn't give" or "class warfare" brushes right now. I know plenty of jerks and cool people who donate at every level and I fit in somewhere that is less than I wish I could give, but more than my wife thinks I should. I have no plans to reveal mine or any other known donation amounts on the interwebs (unless they finally decide to erect my Quoner bidet in the locker room), nor do I want to know what anyone else does. Maybe I am just rare or have relative youth on my side or something, but all I have felt since donating is a bigger connection to everything around me and a greater appreciation for what I thinks ahead. I've felt no desire to have a greater say in anything, but maybe I need to start waving my genitals towards Bonnie Brae more. I think I've shown I'm not afraid to turn on a coach (giggle) when it's possibly warranted, but I really don't see how a coach who has already doubled our last coaches first year win total is already failing -- especially in light of what ArkState posted.
  7. I'm not saying don't care. We all care. We show up at games (breaking news -- I'm wearing something Mean Green and Rangers this Saturday, you guys) and we want this thing to finally take off so freaking badly. But honestly, it's not blood, sweat and tears. Don't romanticize it. It's money, beer, bitching, cheering, yelling, drinking, more beer, tents, food, donating, meddling and sitting. And it's still fun. Maybe it's a losers mentality, but if I can't control the outcome, I don't see the point in wallowing for more than a few hours after the game. Besides, no matter how mad you get in the moment, you can always buy a new cat/dog/wife and move on quickly.
  8. I'd take the modified version above.
  9. Most people seem to think we'll win 4 or 5 games this year and then contend next year. Is that now considered a major rebuild?
  10. The "I don't want to be laughed at at work thing" is one of the saddest fan complaints ever. I love North Texas, but if I ever either (1) define myself by how 18-22 year olds play football on scholarship or (2) decide to be sensitive to people teasing me abut how 18-22 year olds play football on scholarship, I'd like someone to beat me senseless with a bag of dils. Also, we've been at the bottom of the Belt for a few years now...so bad news on that whole "passed by" thing...
  11. The results are in, amigo. What’s left to ponder?
  12. I thought we were playing the Rangers.
  13. I think only the real tinfoil hats of the world ever thought both these guys turned UNT down or were never contacted. It always came down to money, and Rick hired what he thought was the best option given the budget made available to him by his bosses. If it worked, it would have been spectacular, but, well...you know.
  14. Whoa. Tap the brakes. Right now I donate and have added enough people to our group this afternoon to cover everyone who complained. Don't worry guys, I got this. As I learned when I got married, big deal to me usually equals a fairly unimportant deal to everyone else. It sucks your day got screwed up, but adding some sense of underlying morality to the great Rangers/NT debate of aught 11 seems unnecessary.
  15. Seems like a weird time to take a shot at 97and03.
  16. Because it's not a few weeks from now?
  17. Last week, Community explored 7 different timelines. Joel McHale played tight end at Washington. Washington is in the PAC-10. NOT A COINCIDENCE.
  18. Most division one programs get their times moved all the time because of national TV broadcasts and how the teams are doing. If you really want us to aim higher and get better, we're going to get rescheduled all the time. Now please, continue. Can't... Look... Away...
  19. Wait -- you've now posted this multiple times. It's not a typo. Just want to get that on the record in case you learn how to edit posts from a neurophysicssurgeon you might know.
  20. But what if most some is fan rangers?
  21. True, but the front side of the conference schedule was also front-loaded. The next 5 games will tell us more and if we end the season with 4 or 5 wins with the talent we're working with right now, that's pretty encouraging. I'd love to be 7-5 or better, but we didn't hire the quick turnaround specialist, we hired the guy we thought could build a bigger and better foundation.
  22. The teams we've lost to are a combined 26-6. If we don't win 3 or 4 within this last stretch, then it's possibly time to be as mad as many people are now.
  23. Perhaps I could interest you in a lazily and angrily written rebuttal of your main point by cherry-picking a handful of turnaround examples at random? Just thought I'd try to save everyone another 2 pages of doing that. Anyone got any good links on realignment?
