No endorsing or attacking this article I saw via Gordon Keith on the Twitternets, but it is interesting: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/taibblog/owss-beef-wall-street-isnt-winning-its-cheating-20111025 -

Last week, the enemy was Texas Rangers fans. This week, it's the greek system. Next week? Well, let's just say watch your damn back, UNT Toastmasters club. -

If the people who complain about the lack of football posts on here were actually capable of talking football, they would just do it. They just have the passive "guy listening to sports talk radio" mentality where they need someone else to tee up an opinion for them so they can react and feel knowledgeable. Defense played great on Saturday. What can they do to get better, guys? Has Thompson taken the next step in his development? How's the back up QB race going? Still corrupt and offensive to god and nature? I'll hang up and listen.

I think it's pretty awesome that Gordon Keith turned his moronic attitudinal teenager into a message board character. Bravo, Gordo!
-
The one(s) where you -- or any alum on this board -- tries to influence attitudinal college kids on how to cheer or what to do. Working through RV and the AD is great, but trying to go right at student organizations is just not likely to work. To boil this down to one sentence: "For your own good and sanity, please leave the 18-22 year old girls alone."
-
When I was a student, I often found myself longing for some alum in his mid-thirties to tell me how to cheer for my team. Weird everyone seems just to be blowing this off. *I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just saying this approach is not likely to work.

Yes, my favorite part of my diploma ceremony was when Scott Hall handed me my degree conferred by Michael Thrash as Phillip Graves applauded slowly.

You tell me, bra... Idiosyncratic attachment to inanimate objects Being "in their own world" / Preoccupied with their own agenda Single-mindedness Likes and dislikes can be very rigid Can spend hours in the library researching, loves learning and information Word repetition (they may frequently repeat what you've just said) Difficulty understanding others’ feelings Has an urge to inform that can result in being blunt / insulting Preoccupied with their own agenda He can be very critical and takes it personally if she won’t wear something he likes, or wears something he dislikes Also, it was a throwaway line.

You're not sharp anymore. It's been too long and we've hung out in person. Now you're just taking the three most unimportant words of the first post and repeating what CBL said. I can't debate aspergers.

Want to try something fun? Do what PMG did -- he invited everyone to come enjoy both sporting events and embraced them both as good things. Maybe a little more inclusion and passive-aggressive Jewish mother trying to get the kids to visit? If there are few/no casual friends on GMG, who are you talking to with this? This couldn't possibly just be a chance to remind people how dedicated you are in case we forgot, right? It's fun to look back and realize an entire week before a home game has been wasted on battling Firefightnrick and the Texas Rangers on a UNT football board.

We all have our own metaphorical fires to fight...

I'll be at the UNT game, but by this logic...never go to a pro game and start skipping football and basketball games for other sports with lower attendance. Hell, let's get a charter flight to Florida for an August Marlins game while we're attending based on need. So damn sick of everyone trying to make the Rangers and Mean Green adversaries. It impacts two games in a rebuilding year. It will not change the future no matter what happens. Stop trying to do this...all of you. Do you think posting this is going to convert a casual fan on the fence or do you just enjoy trolling? If so, mission accomplished with me. See you tomorrow!
