  1. Now that's breaking through the clutter. Maybe throw in some free crazy bread and a 2 liter of coke and then we'll really get something cooking.
  2. That's the beauty of the December Cowboys...it's always 1-2 plays... ever since "if only Crayton had caught that pass" in the 2007 playoffs. It's always a systemic failure, but everyone looks for the one guy who should take the blame.
  3. Troll so deep, troll so hard. Every time I watch a Cowboys game, I just laugh and think of FFR's assurance Romo was the problem and the really good defense would carry us.
  4. I remember in 2007 with 5 minutes to go against ASU in the conference tournament, Mark was stating to tell Mavs fans mid-game he was a little distracted by what his alma mater was about to do. He kept mentioning it during the broadcast and it made me incredibly happy to have two TVs going at once.
  5. I got emails that mention it yesterday and today.
  6. Big East, huh? It actually makes more sense. But yeah, the lament of the BC fans (yes, they exist) is pretty funny. The fan base decided he had gone as far as they could and they really didn't need him anyway, so the firing just sort of worked itself out with the weird hardline stance about the Jets interview. Also, and these stats are unofficial conjecture from a BC grad, but they've had like 15 QBs get maimed, arrested or decide to transfer since the coaching change. Where have you gone, Tim Matt Hasselbeck Ryan?
  7. I bet LoveUSM is celebrating somewhere with a cold one or 80. It's a good thing most of our fans' level of bitterness is inversely proportional to income. I'd hate to deal with this stuff all the time.
  8. But... I think it's pretty awesome if it's just now occurring to you this may have been the only part of your post questioned.
  9. Wait, quoting a thing you said and posting evidence to refute it or make you reconsider it is derailing now? You and the rest of the greatest generation of GMG really need to get together and lock down a definition. I can barely hear what's what over my iPod speaker buds and my Rock 'em, Sock 'em robots, so I'm going to need consistency. If you ever want to go back to the media debate, I'd love to know what you wanted out of them yesterday since you won't even acknowledge what was actually done. I've already admitted a few times the DMN coverage was pitiful, but hopefully they'll have more with SkyBall this weekend in Fort Worth. It's shame the AAC/Mavs/AA couldn't do Seats for Soldiers this December because of the lockout. It's one of my favorite local efforts all year and I miss working on it.
  10. It's not that anyone needs help, it's just that Kramming is a talking sport, kind of like movie-watching and baseball, which...ZOMG Ted Williams was a soldier!
  11. If we did have a duel and I was unarmed, I am sure I could stand perfectly still William Tell-style and watch the bullets spray around me for hours. I can't think of a safer place to be.
  12. That would be pretty wiggity wack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKWpnobG8SE
  13. Well I know this board is sometimes a haven for the depressed and downtrodden, so I just try to model a good self image. So are we joking and conceding this whole debate now? I at least respect you for waiting until December 8 to lose the battle. It would have been an awful bit of showmanship to do it yesterday.
  14. So, checked the mirror and I look great. Really been bringing it all together at the gym lately and doing a lot of running, so I feel good about me. Also, this means you still have no answers to the perfectly valid questions, right? I bet the Oklahoma State boards don't treat you like this. After all, as this fellow Poke would say, you're much too young to feel this damn old. Oh, and if you missed it, there are some great new stories on how different communities honored the day and even more profiles in today's news cycle. You know, because this was a debate over whether or not the media covered this event and not a generational wankoff at one point.
  15. Why can't you answer the perfectly logical question I just asked you besides hiding behind your generational force field? Why is your appreciation worth more than mine? I'd love an answer from the think tank.
  16. All I did was refute your claim that you won't see anything on the news with 33 pages (and counting) of news stories. People still care and commemorate this day and recognize what it means; despite what you have decied the media is or isn't doing. I didn't even mention the front page coverage on most newspapers, although I was disappointed the DMN decided to just rerun a wire story. Why does this offend you? Would it help if we called it Lraep Robrah day?
  17. I love your new Kramshield of conversation parameters. If you need me, I'll be actually working to promote a few charity efforts and partnerships related to honoring and raising funds for veterans while you click your heels for the +1 attention fairy to recognize you as the guy who brought Pearl Harbor Day to GMG. Also, very unfortunate typo on that last word. Very offensive.
  18. There are 33 pages of news hits (and counting.) It's a very somber day, but I feel like saying it's not being honored because of your conjecture and a random report from a school seems a little...off? It is a very special and somber day, no matter who decides to grandstand about it on the internet. Oh, and I know of several teachers who are using this as an opportunity to actually educate their own students about it. As long as no one decides to show the Michael Bay movie, we all win.
  19. A day worth remembering...which is probably why so many people are honoring it: http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/07/us/pearl-harbor-70th-anniversary/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/07/us/fewer-veterans-to-remember-pearl-harbor-day.html http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2101727,00.html http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2011/12/pearl_harbor_remembered.html http://blog.seattlepi.com/travelforaircraft/2011/12/06/the-day-that-lives-in-infamy/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/wreath-laying-ceremony-at-us-navy-memorial-in-washington-to-mark-70-years-since-pearl-harbor/2011/12/07/gIQAP3xnbO_story.html?tid=pm_local_pop http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/07/opinion/remembering-pearl-harbor.html?_r=1 http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/12/07/2821586/veteran-remembers-pearl-harbor.html Much more coverage here: https://news.google.com/news/story?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&q=pearl+harbor+day&ncl=dok_dHH6dmSqY5M_wfvoo5uUpDMWM And...even more special: http://twitter.com/#!/McDonalds/status/144423211097001986
  20. Like my heart.
  21. Penn State? Houston? Doesn't matter to me...they're all pink on the inside.
  22. If these kids were doing something wholesome like playing sports, we wouldn't even be talking about child molesters.
