  1. Here you go, Kram: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303610504577419973285034422.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
  2. All the positive momentum from his Dallas Symphony failed bit probably gave him his own personal green light to greatness.
  3. He's been gushing about Coleman a lot.
  4. He left, but he wasn't the mastermind. He was going to be the face.
  5. Even fewer people cite the More Cushion for the Pushin' doctrine, but it played a big role during the Renaissance.
  6. I like the line, but that's still the reason they keep writing more.
  7. I like to imagine RV under the bed holding his cell phone and trying to tell Mac everything he sees. This has legs.
  8. Oh noes. It will be just like Taken. Do they send McCarney to get him back?
  9. Most egregious error by a band focused on packing in a crowd since Great White.
  10. Me too, but I hope you meant to post in this thread.
  11. I would have maxed out Phillip Humber weeks ago, so suck on that.
  12. Completely torn and hoping I never have to make a decision with the talks supposedly going on right now. You're going to pay him more than he is worth for sure to keep him, but we did basically pick him over Prince Fielder this summer (based on Simpson's quote.) It will also be time to potentially replace Cruz and Napoli and we could face a nice bidding war for the AZ catcher coming free. I know we're laughing at the Angels now and expect to most of the season, but they have a lot of money coming off the books this summer. However, we still have a bunch of talent fermenting nicely, so I think the trade deadline will tell us a lot if something doesn't happen before then.
  13. See, we're just better and more tolerant...or something. This board is about views that can be discussed logically & friendly= we all want the same outcome!
  14. Doesn't glick kind of do the same thing over on Ponyfans? I enjoy GMG Glick plenty, but this feels like we are watching a couple that used to date fight in front of their new boyfriends.
  15. Rebuttal: http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2012/5/8/3004720/college-footballs-place-in-society-one-humble-opinion
  16. I agree it is one of the most selfish acts a human being can do, but I also don't think it is something most humans in a rational place would ever want to do. I'm always torn on how much to blame the person versus their conditions, but as 90 pointed out, I'm making a lot of assumptions based on stories, the overall sentiment among former NFL players as well as a few personal experiences. I used to very much think "what a selfish a-hole" when these types of stories came out anywhere, but now I'm kind of always in a gray area with it -- especially since the whole Duerson thing.
  17. Very much an assumption based on the shotgun to the chest and how it happened/recent events. In my defense, an NBC editor probably snipped that all together for me. Luckily, she's been let go. Also, since I am happy to argue with myself: http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2012/05/will-you-protect-your-kids-from-the-great-football-menace.html
  18. Yeah. People with brain damage and battling depression are so self-absorbed. He should have just drank more beer or something.
  19. I know we don't have all the facts yet and I'll take some heat for this, but the last few years have left me scared sh*tless to have a kid who plays football.
  20. Drafting any Big 12 QB ever equals long-term failure and lolz. It's a simple concept. So far, we have 1.5 seasons of VY, a good season from Freeman and I guess GMG folk hero Seneca Wallace. That's it. Look it up. It's in the thing. If I've missed someone, let me know, because it is weird to me the conference has done nothing at that position in the NFL.
  21. Having not watched a lot of Marquette outside the tournament, could you give us some insights into how everyone feels about the overall ability of the team to execute late in games? Did the plays generally work or at least leave your guys with a good shot? Would love to see that area improved for us.
  22. No. They want to be taken seriously now: http://blog.bleacherreport.com/2011/08/22/the-new-fab-five-lead-writers-usher-in-a-new-era-at-bleacher-report/ What you describe as a fun chance to blog is a for-profit system with some fancy window dressing that is gaming Google and looking for page views and revenue over content. Every time we link, click, post and make fun of them, you're giving the people behind the writers money and enabling the cycle. I am glad Toby has the passion and interest in blogging about us (and wish he would do it through his own site and let the content speak for itself), but don't try to legitimize a crappy system that does much more harm than good. Generating page views /= journalism (and the same goes for half the crap on Gawker/Deadspin now.)
  23. If by kill, you mean made it too awesome to remain, then yes.
