I recently hired a dog to crap exclusively in your yard for a week and you didn't really notice - just kept saying how nice it was to have time to be outside. I then hired a few of his friends to crap in all of your neighbor's yards. Luckily, you just keep pointing and going "see, we all have dog crap in our yards, so quit complaining" every time your wife said something about the smell and stepping in the mess. The dogs have never been happier.

At least we made a backup goalie change...and I've been reconsidering my look at trading mentality - especially now with Spezza in the fold. I wouldn't mind seeing what we could get for some of the 3rd and 4th liners without a future here, even though I have grown quite fond of them. I don't think those moves kill this season. If we drift a little more, I bet we could get something decent for Daley and Goli (not worth the salary, but free up spots for more of the kids who need to learn on the job this year and next who are the real future.) I'm still watching for a chance to package for a real top 2 defenseman above all of that, though (as long as they are controllable for at least 2 more seasons.)

That's a great question in spirit, but if it's a business, can you really sit there and take the question to another scenario? What does Delta expect from its passengers? It's a fine, if haughty, question for fans to ask each other, but if you're selling a product with that mentality, it's not going to go well.

I agree with you on everything - but the PP and going to the net has been an issue for year. And Goligoski is always going to frustrate you because he should be a 3rd or 4th d-man. Klingberg is extremely encouraging, but Dillon has taken a huge step back, Jordie Benn has been atrocious this year and we lost the other guy I was excited about it early in the year. Ultimately, unless we can clone Zubov or Scott Niedemayer, I'm not sure if the d-man we need will ever be available and we'll pay a stiff price for another second pair type guy. It's just like the whole process of finally gettin' sem pitchin' up in here, but on skates.

All those D warts we hid for 2 months at the end of last year, exposed and festering. It's such a long season and teams flounder until Christmas all the time and then take off, but do we continue considering that just about every game has been competitive, the schedule has been brutal and it's mental or do we start thinking about the best moves to build long-term?
