Positive vs Negative Financial Reinforcement
Quoner replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
You guys making a moment out of telling a guy he sucks at his job sure hate hearing someone else tell you the same. And since I've only seen you show up when things at their most terrible before fading away for years at a time, I thought you'd want to get the most out of it. -
Positive vs Negative Financial Reinforcement

Well, RV invested about 30 minutes making a decade's worth of schedules and you haven't stopped second guessing him for 4 years. -
Positive vs Negative Financial Reinforcement

I know you're capable of cobbling non-coordinated tactics together. It's how you post and it's how you're approaching this. Lost in the handful of people defending RV here is that there's not strategy...just crap on a wall. It's giving people a sense of a voice, but what the social guy is doing could help you. Coordinate. Make it unified. Plug his site on the banner. Update the messaging on the site with what Zo put in his letters. Have media in mind before, during and after. Use the images for future campaigns. Start new pages. Build an infrastructure that makes this harder for opponents to tie it to some message board crazies. You'd have to make it less about you, but hey, that's not what this is anyway, right? -
Positive vs Negative Financial Reinforcement

There's a guy our there who knows how to use digital channels based on FB ads and FireRickV.com. Imagine what these banner funds could do with a coordinated campaign he helps execute...central messages, media targeting, the whole bit. It'd be harder than flying a plane around for an hour, though. -
Breathe deep, friends....every little thing gonna be alright
Quoner replied to untcampbell's topic in Mean Green Football
I think I almost admire his persistence and dedication, especially because it pairs so poorly with his ability to not make it more than 5 posts without inadvertently ripping of his mask and screaming his identity. He'll catch that roadrunner someday...meep, meep. -
Aren't they the same dude?

Yup - it's Checkfacts. Dang it - such potential .

Top guesses: #7 on wheat loyalist, reincarnation 567 of checkfacts or a spurned lover.

We need more subsets of choices. Can I start a small bubble of agreeing with a lot of what is said but also thinking the banner won't do anything that isn't already happening and possibly even backfire? And I mean, look how lax you guys have been with the FireRV.com domain so horribly twisted and perverted beyond what it was obviously intended for. Escalating from letters to planes just seems sloppy. All these years of demanding billboards and now they are just left to display some crap about how if you lived here, you'd be home by now? And don't even get me going on posters, signs, college gameday crashing - where's the pageantry? For shame, slackers.

Serious Question about the RV situation
Quoner replied to GreenTexan13's topic in Mean Green Football
Or maybe the constant questioning of his performance to the President had him bunkering down as early as this time last year, which gave him time to rally his supporters and be ready for what he seems to consider his big stand. The banner can be seen as a driver or an offshoot - basically whatever anyone chooses to believe here. Regardless, it's hilarious - for so many reasons. -
It better not be. If there's not a billboard, a wrapped van that hands out fire RV merchandise or a ton of people who attend the Halloween game dressed as jobless RV, then what the hell are you all even doing?
-
Oh, RV is pissed and so are his buddies, which I think is all a bunch of you want. You're also making it incredibly easy for RV and anyone else to paint a picture of this being the work of message board people with insane posting histories, vendettas, and tagalongs, even if everyone supporting this doesn't see it that way (and that's not how some of you really are.) The banner will fly, we'll have some laughs and then the sun will come up and you know who will still be the AD? But whatever, I'm all for hilariously personal trolling for entertainment's sake and selfishly cannot wait to see this play out.

We agree that the situation sucks and needs to change, so let me rephrase: It is highly unlikely anything that is being done with a plane and banner is going to cause anything positive to happen if people are not rioting em masse in one of the most embarrassing on field results in our history. I would not mind being wrong about this at all, but the coach being fired seems to be the one action in store for the rest of the season. Handwritten letters, emails, and the removal of funds/attendance seem to be more effective ways to make a point, even if the boogie monster known as the Freedom of Information Act really gets under some people's skin. You all are just repeatedly yelling at a board where a giant poll indicated everyone wants a change. This is Yelp syndrome - you guys just want to the loudest and most special about it. Best of luck and if this gets us what we all want, I'll happily eat an IKEA instruction book or maybe the Bill or Rights.
-
Yup. No one cares. If the dramatic flaming wreckage of the onfield product can't turn more heads, I'm not optimistic a prop plane and canvas can either.

Here's the thing - Tasty bungled a series of web traffic ventures. Do I even have to mention the TY Sports and TakeaKnee debacles? It wasn't until @UNTflyer showed up that we started seeing a more inclusive atmosphere. Basically, he got set up behind the scenes to look like a hero with his sandwich and legos crap, but we all know it was built on the backs of others way beyond his ivory tower. Really, for my money, I put these positives much more on Flyer, the young army of guys named Chris, and the good people of Euless than I do this tastygeek fellow.
-
A few people shrugged. A couple chuckled. Pretty much no one cared. That's not a defense, but someone has to start fighting the dramatic horse crap you all keep echo-chambering each other to get more and more mad so you're all nice and hard when nothing happens and the metaphorical chastity belt stays locked.

RV: Dodge was a good hire based on who we could hire
Quoner replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Weird that some people get difficult bosses and have to figure out how to work with/around them and still be effective. We should look into this rare phenomenon. -
