  1. Hey look - the retards took this seriously. Time to close the border cage.... I really don't hate OU - except when they stream down I-35 like a thick trickle of urine every October and fail to yield the fast lanes despite going 45-50 all the way between Dallas and Denton. I have just started going back ways to avoid 35 so I don't bang my head through my windshield in frustration.
  2. Todd Dodge once recycled the same joke 18 times in a football season because he didn't have much interesting to discuss about the actual games. It played like new every time. Oh that was us - damn it.
  3. ebrake?
  4. Hey they helped Dallas today - that was pretty damn nice of them if you ask me. After spending the first game rooting for the Skins, now its time to go root for Philly.... Never done those 2 things on the same day...
  5. Yup pulled a hammy chasing after a great defensive play for a TD - caught the guy and hit him too but he just bounced off.
  6. I thought I saw you when I was walking around Emmitt...I sat about midfield on the SLC side and had a blast. Riley was obviously still hurt from the two big hits he's taken this postseason and it was fun to watch Dodge adjust his offense back and forth. He came out looking to air it out, suffered an early set back, and then mixed it up a bit until the run was firmly established. Riley made a few plays (1 great TD pass and the bomb where the DB just tripped over himself and was beaten anyway) and Tre did the rest. All I could think about is how well Dodge could use Thomas and Robertson regardless of who our QB is. I would say Woody would be great if he could get a quick hold of this system though. This is much more cerebral than anything we've ever run (as is me vacuuming my rug or shampooing my merkin.) Allen was almost bigger at every position on the field and it didn't matter. The SLC defense was not even what I would call amazingly fast, but everyone was disciplined and reacted quickly. The option based offense Allen turned too after their starting QB went down would hit on a play or two, but they were unable to overmatch a smaller line. The OLB's were used alternately to blitz and were able to beat what seemed to look like fairly competent tackles. Allen also had a big wide receiver in #82 (not their star) who towered over Corner covering him, but was unable to shake free of him and ended up getting so pissed he was hitting and punching the guy and giving up on plays. By the time I left in the 4th he hadn't caught a single ball and looked ready to slap his own momma. In fact, by half time, the Allen team seemingly had the life beaten out of it and they took a few cheap personal foul penalties and never got back on their game. It was nice to see Todd break their will in 24 minutes, then pretty much call off the dogs and win with class. The Dodge sign was great too after the half and his wife teared up which was sweet. The locker room is 100% behind his move to NT, and they have dedicated this game and next week to honoring him the way he deserves. Several SLC fans asked me about NT and who they play next year and when I mentioned OU they said don't be shocked when its a close game. Several of them plan to make as many of our games as they can as well. A few more scatter shots: Riley has not told anyone he is interested in NT yet, and has been contacted by SMU and Rice already. HE says he wants OU or Mizzou. but it is still early. The entire SLC operation seemed incredibly classy and tight. The band looked like it was actually having fun, the dancers were great, the people were nice, and even STOOD for most of the game. I'm hoping Dodge can bring some of that crowd mojo with him as well. In summation, get ready to celebrate Dodgemas this year. If you live in SA, maybe try to catch the championship next week (is it against Westlake BTW?) I may be losing a Quoner, but I'm gaining a massive pair of Dodgeballs for next seasons. Edit: The WR I mentioned was 82, not 22. I think 22 is their stud white receiver (since we like to talk race now)
  7. Awesome - thanks to both of you for chiming in.
  8. The fact that that stupid cow can swipe the name of one of my favorite Stars ever still pisses me off.... What's next, drunken Randy Galloway insisting we call him "Guy" or "Carbo?"
  9. It will probably be nice for them to promote something besides steaming poop and the chance to drink.
  10. Personally, I think the steps to keep McCoy in the lineup regardless of injury is still a result of Mack being snakebit by the Simms/Applewhite fiasco. I think Mack was committing to one come hell or high water and Snead saw the writing on the wall. I won't knock him for his choice either - all he is sacrificing is possibly the Alamo Bowl to support his star for the long term. The only thing Texas needs is the chance to practice for next season - not a win over Iowa.
  11. Or did you all run them off with your harsh words and questionable language???
  12. I like that I've read a Reggie Bush and a Steve Slaton comparison in the past 5 minutes. It goes with the earlier Vince Young comparisons to Woody, although I'd say he's more of a Troy Smith type now.... perhaps maybe we have an Earl Campbell on our hands....
  13. damn it - now I hate christmas...
  14. You two should sit together and have someone transcribe your conversations. I'd pay to read the PlummMaker report.
  15. What the public can't ask questions at a press conference!!!!!??? this is BS!
  16. Did Not Coach - Stigmata (gametime decision)
  17. someone drank Playmaker's bongwater again...
  18. Real smart post, dude.
  19. Phone - not sure on the date yet -but it will be a few months unless we decided to start processing ticket sales earlier than normal alongside the coaching hire. That makes too much sense though...
  20. Why didn't this idea get more consideration - this search was a sham...
  21. Yeah all in all, TG should be given full credit for this coaching hire and be held accountable. Seriously, where is G2BG with a "how you like me now, bitches!" post. That's what I'd do if I was him
  22. I loved his DMN College blog posting: North Texas is a rubber stamp away from announcing Southlake Carroll coach Todd Dodge as Darrell Dickey's successor. It's good to know UNT AD Rick "Glad to be Green" Villarreal is taking my advice again. This is the second most high-profile hire in UNT history. Snagging fired SMU coach Hayden Fry in the 1970s is the first. I'm betting that this hire works out just as well for the Mean Green. http://colleges.beloblog.com/archives/2006...smart_move.html
  23. Very true. If you are happy about Dodge, you should be thanking all the "rumor-mongerers" who put the spotlight on things early....
  24. Or Nutt a Dodge ?????
  25. That has gay undertones and I like it.
