I taught Playmaker how to write in a misguided attempt to impress untgirl04, her husband, and her friends. Tomorrow we're doing cursive uppercase...

Tortilla throwing. Why traditions are bad? Kids Korner? Vic Trilli - misunderstood, or boy genius? -
Could We Agree To Quit Starting Posts

Come on guys, there hasn't been a uniform design thread in days....let's get back to what matters. -
For the record I just want to say I stopped bashing him two months ago and all its done is encouraged him...

That actually makes me excited.... the program needs more fans, not cheerleaders. We have plenty of cheerleaders - when they decide to show up. Or are made to come. T-shirt cannon is pretty dependable though...

Grand Coach Dodge Story On Channel 11
Quoner replied to ParksAndRecRick's topic in Mean Green Football
And the board continues to not know the difference between marketing and PR, but are usually happy to complain about both. (Not calling you out, Rick - it's a VERY good suggestion - but am using your post to make a general point) -
And to think, I just finished telling my co-workers how good Thurman Thomas was when he played here....

Please respond to my leading question: Are you gayer than you were yesterday?

I can think of that kind of coach... And, no, the Dodge family doesn't sit around and discuss losing. They pretty much just whip it out side by side on the table every night, laugh at the neighbors, take shots of jack, and then donkey punch terrorists in the face to glean pertinent information to save the US. On weekends they ice skate.

Do Rumblings Like This Remind You Of Anyone?
Quoner replied to Quoner's topic in Mean Green Football
Everyone and their dog called him that last year, so I don't know why anyone is scoreboarding that point (although perhaps we can award those points to Playmaker - he needs them.) I think that once other players come out and say this, and especially after the Detroit Lions QB calls players and schemes out by name on the freaking radio in Seattle, someone can tie information like this into a story. Why is this just coming out now? Our local media handled Parcells with kid gloves for 3 years and it was sickening to watch. Tell a damn story. -
I know when you cover a team, there are some lines you cannot cross, but it seems like if JJT knew something like this about Parcells, someone could have gotten this out somehow. Do you think this story would have found a way in print in a market like NY or BOS? I do. The whole Parcells exit just feels so....Dicky-ish. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...ol.1b6c1c7.html But he can blame only himself and his insecurities for his failure in Dallas. Mr. Parcells never gave his coordinators an opportunity to maximize the talent on the roster. Did the Cowboys' offense consistently show the creativity that New Orleans did this season under rookie head coach Sean Payton, who left Dallas last year? Nope. Even this season, Mr. Parcells often kept his thumb on play-caller Tony Sparano. Ask any of the key defensive linemen or linebackers on this team, and they'll tell you Mr. Parcells forced Mr. Zimmer to play more conservatively than he wanted to. More than once, opposing players said the Cowboys ran some of the NFL's most simplistic offensive and defensive schemes. They had no choice because the more complicated the schemes, the less Mr. Parcells understood them. And if he didn't understand them, then he couldn't adequately second-guess the calls the coordinators made. And if he couldn't second-guess them, then he couldn't properly assign blame. That's why his failure has nothing to do with Mr. Jones.

If your factors are turnovers and confidence, how can you bet on Rex "Sex Cannon" Grossman? Not trying to be an ass, but I am curious...bi-curious. The guy played like a zombie version of Chad Hutchison coached by DD for half of that game. Not many games you go 8-8 in a half and still finish under 50%.... If confidence is your tie-breaker, the Colts have to be feeling a lot better too...they just ended a few years of frustration...

Quoner pounded this one long and hard and came to this conclusion: The last few Super Bowls have had real yawners of a first half followed by crazy second halfs. Your halftime score will be something like 10-6. Your final will be 500-497. The craziest thing will happen. Neither of these defenses will be any good. The Bears have been crapping up 300+ yard defensive outtings since week 10 while the Colts have been lit up by the only competent offensive team they played in the playoffs. More and more, the Super Bowl is a celebration of mediocrity. In fact, this entire sports year has been about taking a crazy favorite, idolizing them, then having them torn down in front on the country (see USC, Ohio State, Mavericks, OU, Detroit Red Wings, UCONN.) Then, we celebrate the random success of once in a lifetime winners (Boise State, George Mason, Texas, Edmonton Oilers - almost, Florida, St. Louis Cardinals, etc.) On paper the Colts should win, but that's if you don't account for the intangibles of just how gay sports could be. My logical mind says Colts, but after consulting with David Eckstein, Raffi Torres, Vince Young, and Adam Morrison's mustache... Give me the Bears followed by a candelit dinner and heavy petting with Sexy Rexy Grossman. I want a Super bowl winner that hasn't lost to the Cowboys. Cut. That. Meat.

Thank you - I spent all weekend quoting this for no logical reason... I have problems. Deep, dark problems.
