He didn't gripe over the weekend when he was getting his ass beat by 50+ combined points.... -
Because that is exactly what I was thinking when I wrote it... well done, sir.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...mail/components During the tournament's opening days, some college teams arrived at the same first-round sites to drastically different circumstances. In Sacramento, the top-seeded team checked into a Sheraton while the lowest seed pulled up to a Holiday Inn. In Winston-Salem, N.C., Georgetown slept comfortably at the Marriott. Its first-round opponent, Belmont, stayed at a small, historic hotel with old, 19-inch televisions. "That will keep our mind on the games," said Belmont guard Andrew House, who added that the hotel felt more like a log cabin or a bed and breakfast. In Columbus, Southern Illinois and most other teams settled into towering downtown hotels within comfortable walking distance of Nationwide Arena. Meanwhile, 12th-seeded Long Beach State pulled up at a Marriott located 25 minutes away in Dublin. A few players asked coaches if the team had gotten lost. "Is Duke going to get a better hotel than Iona during the NCAA tournament? Yeah, probably," said Iona Coach Jeff Ruland, who has taken his team to three NCAA tournaments. "All you can ask for is an even playing field. And the truth is, sometimes you don't get it."

Josh Howard should be shot for fouling Nash and missing a foul shot in the final minute - needless 4 point swing. I felt like I was watching our basket....nope, that's bad karma. I felt like I was watching the Clippers. There was really only about 30 solid minutes of game time Dallas seemed to be trying last night...ridiculous. -
This bodes well for when we meet up in NO - VERY well indeed. Call up the Fake CF and let's make this a party...

You should endorse head razors. Seriously, think of the possibilities if this blows up. I could buy an SMU jersey and personally assure they never win a single game again... -

Big 12 Championship
Quoner replied to UNTflyer's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Is anyone else whipped by Durant and announcers lining up to fawn over him when he is 12-29 from the floor with every call possible going away? Someone needs ot make a montage of players walking away, laughing, and shaking their heads for some of the calls he got. He is going to be GREAT, but there are a few guys in college who could do what he does with that many shots in a game - most coaches just don't let their players do that because they run a system - unlike the coked up zombie coaching Texas (Quinn Snyder's Dad perhaps?) Texas did get a nice draw though - at least a sweet 16 for them. It's nice, because I think their fans found out about basketball season two weeks ago so at least they get a few weeks to be insufferable and enjoy it. -
I don't see a Pokey thread. What are you talking about?
-
Gonzaga was a top 10 team under similar circumstances and got a 3 a few years ago...
-
Must be that famous West Texas logic...
-
Hmm - more props for the PR people - you know, if we win a game or two, we really would become the national underdog story... and who knows how many visitors might get to come check out the Pokey Chatman thread?

I thought he said best weapon...but it was great to see us out effort a team like that.

The LSU womens players have a similar philosophy....

I didn't do it - it was given to me to replace naked Holmgren w/o my consent. I have yet to find a suitable replacement, but glad it ranks above a naked 350 lb man and Hasselhoff in a speedo... -

WAAA! The suggestion about next year's home opener is a good one. With a conference tournament behind us and maybe a tournament win in my happy dream world, there is something to promote. Media will want to cover it, and the ads we do use can highlight success. No company just dumps advertising dollars donw the crapper like some of you seem to think though. No one is making excuses - they are trying to show what the constraints are. I see a Midwestern State billboard in FB and it never even makes me blink. Billboards are cheap for a reason. Good PR and winning will do more for our program than any advertisement can. And I really don't see what was wrong with my RV oversees the whole thing statement. -

Dude you had one idea - it was your "jump to conclusions mat." No one seemed to support it - and you've been crying for a day and a half. I've offered plenty of ideas and have been complementing what I think is being done well and attacking what I don't like. If that post started with "Yes - let's hire a director of crazy fun" then said all of the same information you would have loved it. Now take your ball and go home. -

Yes, your idea of creating a position that will never exist with a payscale way above all of the other employees that magically fixes a fundamental, decades-old problem with the entire university (not just athletics) was awesome. Bring it up again. On an unrelated note, I plan to cure AIDS with rainbows. I've been trying to discuss this issue on here for months and have kind of given up on it and am sick of typing what I think. No amount of messaging is going to fix the problem - people need to be engaged - not told the same thing more. Everything people have criticized the athletic department for since we won the game has pretty much happened and I am going to wait until the experience is over before evaluating how we handled it. So far I'm pretty happy except for the shirt thing. Finally anyone who wants to criticize the Athletic Department but somehow detach RV from it when they do it loses all credibility. It's his organization and ultimate responsibility to make things happen, enable people to make things happen, and replace people who don't make things happen. -

Thank you! Would you rather the money build up the product or continue to hyper an inferior one? Todd Dodges salary probably translates to a lot of TV spots - we could have just hired Flanagan for a free car, lunch money, and some tacos and reinvested the rest. Until the budget grows, everything is a trade off that needs a higher return. Bigger programs can do whatever because they have an apparent return no matter what. That's why Joey Harrington billboards can be funded by Oregon... Also, why is no one giving props to the PR/Media Relations group right now? We finally have a story to sell and I am seeing it everywhere (just like after Jamario's first season.) I'm sure this is much more fun for them then trying to spin some tennis team's loss against Idaho or a 35 point loss to MTSU. I want to make sweet love to the media relations department to thank them for what they've done, but I won't because then they might lose 12-20 seconds of their day that could cost us a feature story somewhere. -
Does Creighton have two campuses? Will we have this problem when UNT-Dallas starts making the tournament? I know the big picture of college basketball is new to many people here, but Gonzaga, Davidson, and Oral Roberts (who beat FREAKING KANSAS!) should be nowhere near this list.... it's like a new football fan saying TCU, Boise St., and Navy should be dismissed because they are not in big conferences. That said, we'd own Central Conn St. Bitches would get a can of UTA so fast upside their heads they'd wanna slap their own mamma. Yeah, I speak jive now. It's new.
