Well that's a much bigger story than you realize if true. -

Disappointing. Where is my obvious cut and paste summation of the trades!? -

Repeated injuries or same guys getting hurt with different injuries? And if you can't say all those things, why are you? -

Here's the current injury report - what patterns do you see? They appear to all at least be leaning one direction when they get hurt. Is it core-related? 3/1/16 Tanner Scheppers P Torn cartilage, left knee 60-Day Disabled List 3/25/16 Josh Hamilton LF Recovery from left knee surgery 60-Day Disabled List 5/23/16 Drew Stubbs CF Sprained left toe 60-Day Disabled List 6/21/16 Derek Holland P Left shoulder inflammation 60-Day Disabled List 6/22/16 Colby Lewis P Strained right lat muscle 60-Day Disabled List 7/5/16 Bryan Holaday C Bruised left thumb 15-Day Disabled List 7/19/16 Prince Fielder DH Herniated discs in neck 15-Day Disabled List 7/20/16 Shin-soo Choo RF Lower back inflammation 15-Day Disabled List -

Cool - based on your background, what do you think they did wrong with them and are doing wrong with others? What do you think other teams are doing right? -

Are you familiar with the concept of WAR at all? Are Choo, Holland and Fielder the injuries frustrating you? -

Jeff Sullivan, often accused of hating the Rangers and sometimes happy to confirm it, had a pretty solid write up of the trade: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/rangers-land-potential-relief-ace/. Also, Demeritte has already been popped for steroids once and is in a very hitter friendly league. He was always going to be trade fodder the way the pipeline and roster is constructed, so we'll see if they sold him when the time was right. -

So...just to recap...you haven't watched Ian Desmond play and weren't aware he's been arguably the Rangers best player this year (apologies to Cole and Beltre) and you think with a better reliever (who would not have pitched until May) and the removal of Desmond, the team would be better? JD has some moves to quibble with for sure, but I'm curious which ones you take most issue with? Also, which injuries bother you the most? I'm not trying to lead you anywhere, I'm just genuinely curious bc there's a whole segment of people that stay stuff like this and no one ever asks why. -

But took on an $8M salary going into arbitration for more money with a suspension coming up. Do you like Chapman more than Desmond? -

So you are faulting JD for not pulling the trigger on something when his suspension and future were up in the air when the bullpen looked largely settled after last season? I still disagree, but at least kinda see the logic to it now. -

Yes - although your love of deep leagues makes my second place one year league I've been doing for 4 years with a bunch of lawyer types look sad and pointless. That said, you can really build a solid team around Betts, Arenado, Kluber and Quintana. Quintana is my annual fantasy performer I am irrationally tied to in real life trade talks, and Kris Davis is my guy I didn't trust in long enough and got hot right after I made a move. I also had no idea that Calhoun was top 4 in WAR this season for RF's, so eff me - I was blinded by Halo hatred, although I still think Mazara becomes a .300 hitter with average defense in a corner spot with 25 homeruns a year consistently within 2 seasons. Even with his slump/adjusting period, he's not that far off that tract. I really don't have a good sense of Brinson this year (just like how the Mazara love really got going this time last year.), mostly bc I never expected him to be anything beyond trade fodder. Also, not that I have the level of dedication to prospects you do, but I have only seen stuff about him having plus defense and speed with the bat lagging behind. Has that changed this year? What role did his injury play? -

I agree with the sentiment but not your evaluation of Mazara and Kole Calhoun. That and your Brinson comp make me think you're way too deep in fantasy baseball stat comp land. I'm also sorry about some of the guys I'm guessing you drafted or had to pick up on the waiver wire. -
Whoa - the old grudge from the unofficial board policer is back, baby! I'm just glad to see you've finally found something to type about besides how much you're avoiding 90's posts. This is huge progress and should majorly unclog the board.

Where do people who still call iPhones an "I-phone" and desktops "desk tops" fall on this phantom spectrum of middle-aged coolness?

In a thread full of overreactions and kneejerks, my favorite so far is the post scolding JD for not giving up more than 2 top 5 prospects and 2 projects for a rental closer with a drinking and spousal abuse problem. -

Look @TheTastyGreek - I really need this board. If I can't call out the same people I always disagree with and get +1s from the people I know agree with me (until they split off on another topic and we eat each other like jackals suddenly and violently), I have nothing else. Let's be honest, you've heard about my no-good son and his hijinx. It's only a matter of time until he's showing up on the Google. There is not a lot happening for me or him - and the AD won't even let him on the field at halftime. Please, all I know is this life. Who are you to take it from me? How dare you play god.
