Quoner replied to gangrene's topic in Mean Green Football
Haha, he's in trouble and didn't end up playing here. Let's dogpile him and kick him in the nuts! Yay! -

Quoner replied to DallasGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
The last 3 days of conversation on this board have left me dead from death. -
He actually has been working out with receivers and they love him, just in case anyone is wondering.

You own a game-used Vanderslice jersey and a jar of Quinn's hair....all types.

Thank you for focusing on the key point here - the Richards Group sucks.

Fouts: Dodge's Presence Could Drive New Stadium Plan

I think because it measures late July 2006 to late July 2007, not full year. This whole 3 part series is a pretty nice bit of media relations. It has a nice spot as a point of interest in a fundraising campaign folder or what not... or a nice reference to point to angrily if nothing happens in the next 2-3 years. Depends on which poster you are. -

There it is. And, even without Pickens, OSU's program would be at least 7 years ahead of ours. At least. -
It's only okay to hijack Johnny Quinn threads if you you want to have a good old-fashioned early 90s Houston Oilers circle jerk. I hope Johnny plays for the Oilers.

Ut Player Arrested For Dwi
Quoner replied to EagleD's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Because our players never get in trouble - that's why! We're superior. This proves it. -
I've emailed Cuban about helping the Mean Green and joining this venture just for fun before. He's not as fired up about it as you might think.... but that doesn't mean we can't all email bomb him and plead. Even just making him respond would be fun. We could do a form letter on how we are better than the Cubs. OR Maybe RV and the fundraising staff can teach a billionaire who built his fortune on taking risks more about "thinking outside the box" though. Like the time he went with the kelly green plastic cups instead of white ones for the cook out. Or maybe the time he helped facilitate a 10 pizza delivery in under 25 minutes by not letting the ovens cool from the previous orders. I don't know. I'm no expert on box thinking.

This post has been up for an hour and no one has panicked or ranted about our situation and the need to find "our" Pickens. You guys are slipping - or really observing the Lord's Day. -
Hmmm. What Attendance Do We Announce This Week ?
Quoner replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
SHHHHHHHH, don't let anyone here know that. It will ruin the ability to be condescending.... -
Really - they turned around magically because of fans? That's awesome that the fans made those new stadiums and OOC wins happen. If hearing a group of fans complain on a message board turns you off, you should probably just give up on all sports altogether or turn off the computer. This whole interweb has really changed things. But, frequenting a board is not really supporting a program, its just indulging an existing passion that helps us stay sane between events. Good luck with Baylor and SMU! Good investments!

1) He applies every summer. How's that working out for him? The man has worked in two larger programs. It his profession. 2) I agree we have nothing to show for it. A fan base does not turn its program around. It helps, but the leadership does. Name me a turnaround story in any sport that started with the paying customers and not the product offered or the way it was repackaged. 3) I am concerned about that too, but your group to reach on this is not on this message board. It is in the other part of the school. Should we fans that care start storming classrooms and events to speak about how great the sports teams are? We all want the same thing, but the arguing over abstract points we can't change is just so much fun sometimes... I blame you. And him. And maybe her over there.

Good points but: !) He signed up for this job knowing full well what we was getting into. No athletic director can do it alone. A huge part of the job is identifying the quality talent you need to manage each part of your vision. That's like saying a GM is not responsible for an offensive line sucking because he can't go out there and block. 2) The fans on this board are responsible for showing up, giving money and spreading the Mean Green gospel, but none of these issues are under our control. If someone is being paid to fundraise - which several people in the department are - they should be fundraising much better than us. If someone is paid to sell tickets, they should be selling tickets and managing customer relationships better than us. You can say the same for every group there. 3) People seem to hate me for this, and I have nothing against RV, but so far he as implemented a template of best practices from other universities. That is great and what we needed and it is sad nobody did that for so long, but the sainting of him here is a little much. He's a fallible leader - and probably the best UNT could ask for right now - but I will never get why so many of you find him flawless. It's creepy. I guess the analogy was that the fan base was a mistreated puppy that finally found an owner who pays attention to it before and after work and walks it once in awhile. Oh, and the old owner was Michael Vick.

How dare you sir?

Playmaker, if you respond, I'll cut you. Since you know, we can dictate our own threads now. I want to talk about the 87 Houston Oilers, stickers, Biggio, and the history of Southlake Carroll. Nothing else.
-
Hey Bob, remember when the 2004 Red sox had that "Cowboy Up" thing and everyone loved it? Why yes, Bill I do. Do you think our university can find a way to butcher it beyond recognition, make the crap slogan at UNT look like Hemingway, and further show the worl that the Richards Group is steaming, giant pile of overrated crap? I don't know, Bill. Why don't I "pony up" and show you?

The guy at the bottom of the left goal post seems a little perturbed about the style of offense we ran that day...

but the great RV chose this slogan!!!!! How dare you sir. How dare you indeed.
