  1. A note on look-a-like threads: We get it - the black guy with dreads looks like The Predator and/or Whoopi. We get it - the fat guy looks like the fat guy from Varsity Blues. There is some real genius on both boards, but it never hearts to remember those two key facts.
  2. No - but someone added an s to the fourth one I drew
  3. If you really hate referees, you'll enjoy this Darko quote (especially if you know Serbian): http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/09/05/...enemous-tirade/
  4. I know that Bush is a great music group from the 90s.
  5. Look at the shorts all you want, just don't mention anything in or near them. Trust me. And CBL. And Jaydub....
  6. I watched Texas and had friends at Texas A&M watch them hold back their schemes and playbooks this week on both sides of the ball. I am pulling this out of my butt for slef-preservation, but it is not an unheard of practice. That's why most schools just try to get through week one and then have their biggest leaps between weeks 1 and 2. Now, we are not that good a team yet, but we are building. Anyone who expected more than 5 wins (and maybe even 3) is very optimistic. 1-11 or 2-10 might happen. And, sticking with the Jesus analogy, it took him about 30 years to really get going... (tongue in cheek)
  7. That's how bad week one was - chrisfisher can take potshots at Dodge and be justified. Time to move on.
  8. Because if I don't hold on to a personal belief that it was a preseason type affair where he was assessing what he had, then I have to face the hard reality that he might not be the Second Coming and I invested too much in pumping myself up for him to even think that's a possibility. And he never said win today, he just said win all ambiguous-like - like maybe someday.
  9. WHEN DID THIS THREAD BECOME CAPS ONLY? I already stated that I think UNT held back the schemes and tricks they are bound to use moving forward. If we see no wrinkles in the defense during the SMU game, then we can hit the panic button. OU had every right to laugh at us, but hopefully the real joke was on SMU.
  10. Maybe, maybe not - but with a 15 second audible heads up we should have a pretty good chance. I bet Bennett has a master plan in place. To yell all out and then not blitz us. It is pure genius. Just like his "to catch a predator" mustache. UNT v. SMU - free mustache, er pony rides for everyone!

  12. The Michigan blogs are taking it well: http://mgoblog.blogspot.com/ (thanks Deadspin!)
  13. I got many, many dirty looks at the game when I questioned the penalty. I got more dirty looks, however, when I asked if the statue of Earl Campbell still had working knees. (sorry to all Houston fans - it's nothing personal - it's just been a Houston-themed snark week)
  14. Actually at the Texas game they were complaining that all the band did was make a logo, play the fight song and walk off. So, good point.
  15. OFFENSIVE. I'M OFFENDED. COKE KILLS PEOPLE! Stranger danger! Stranger danger!
  16. We should write them angrily. Really let them know that we don't suck as much as that one school. Let's use that leg we have to stand on to prop ourselves up.
  17. Story of my life.
  18. I love living in a realm where realizing that a team transitioning to a passing offense with mismatched talent from an old system would struggle early against the best team in he Big 12. It's like seeing a storm cloud and telling people they might be getting wet soon.
  19. I think they were hardened by two decades of misery and didn't want to believe in it until they saw some real on the field success. If they had won or competed in this game, they probably would have had a nice crowd. All the students I talked to there just tailgated and could not even be talked into coming to the game next week. They don't mind meeting us to boulevard or whatever, but they don't want to be caught dead in the stadium.
  20. would be a great addition to the FIU coaching staff.
  21. Will this mean all of you that bitch endlessly about more posters and ads and t-shirts and free stuff will finally shut the hell up and realize it is winning that makes the machine go in this town? SMU had posters, a top-tier (for them or us) opponent and more hype and presence than we have ever had. And it got them a bunch of visiting Tech fans and a black-eye bigger than Mrs. Warren Moon's. You can tweak the surplus, but you got to have something worth selling for it to work.
  22. Plenty of jorts at the Spring Game: http://tysports.blogspot.com/2007/04/todd-dodges-jorts.html
  23. He didn't seem to want to cyber or watch some youtubes and lolz with me either. What a n00b.
  24. Why did the Cowboys leave second string corners out in man-to-man against other teams receivers most of the pre-season? It was a combination of working to improve and see what they had and being under-talented at the position. Dodge used the game to assess the team against top flight competition to see who would respond and hopefully he learned something for the rest of the year. As much as it might hurt some of you to admit it, that was not an attempt to win a game. Because that game could be played 100 times and the outcome would be about the same. We experimented - and hopefully we learned. Just don't kill yourselves if we lose this weekend. Well, some of you can I guess. Although death is never pleasant.
  25. We can still easily blame DD and just say these are his players. Everyone wins. Well except the players, but we've already established how much we really care about them.
