  1. Imagine if they played a school that was currently tied for first in the Big 12 South halfway through conference? They'd probably tank.
  2. First, congratulations on supporting the program so much - that's awesome and it is great you can do that. I still think a call for volunteers or help is a decent request to make. However, your issue is still staffing - if you can corral 150+ kids onto a field together and have time to walk down the back of the line and check shirts, while making sure this all goes off a hitch because the team gets penalized because they are not off in time, you go for it. There is a reason most schools only allow access to either no kids or a small amount of rich donors kids. You can talk all you want about acting small time and what not, but would you rather pull our limited resources into hiring more people to work that line or accomplishing the 4,000 other things to do to make us"big-time?" If a kid in a Texas shirt has fun at a North Texas game, it is not the end of the world, regardless of what you think.
  3. One person - and intern - controls that line and gts them all on the field. If you care so much about this, call the AD and volunteer to help control the crowd the way a few parents do. Otherwise, let's just sit back and let this thread become the most popular on the board because it gives everyone an excuse to not discuss football.
  4. Schiano was courted heavily by Miami, but decided to stay at Rutgers too.
  5. I have a blog that called out some of the coaching inefficiencies before it was cool and think everyone has a right to an opinion. If our defense played up to their performance last year, we'd probably be 4-2. However, since it has improved steadily the last few weeks (although not as quickly as we would all like), why jump to crucify everyone? And as a note, TY will still be tracking the performance vs. Utah State just for fun and what not and enabling the haters, but anyone who expected more than 5 wins this year is a beautiful optimist. I don't like 1-5 and think that there are many flawed arguments on this board to defend it (including some I have made to rabble-rouse), but... wait, I just had a genius idea. Maybe the team was point shaving last weekend and those last two touchdowns bought Jamario a new car. Repeat this crap 3 times and it just might become truth.
  6. Tom Brady loved that call, but Rich Gannon is pissed.
  7. Oh don't get me wrong - I didn't mean you and the ones who have been around forever. I meant the cross-section of posters who did not make room in there brain that a team would struggle mightily and/or a coaching staff could have an embarrassing learning curve their first year together at a new school that had just hit a bottom point.
  8. I believe I meant the sarcasm if you read it in the context of the sarcasm it was about the fan base always being depressed.
  9. That's just inappropriate.
  10. We've got a few pics at the link at my signature - scroll down to the second post from the top
  11. Time of day is a big issue - why are Boston games starting around 9 pm EST? Why are kids consistently timed out on these? I think there is nothing better than a good playoff baseball game, but unless you are a specific team fan or someone with a very open evening, you just can't watch them.
  12. We've got James Bond and Tuxedo T-shirts for our Homecoming - so in your face. I like to think it is in honor of me and the Krystal's eating champion from last year.
  13. Just voted - why does Stephen McGee have a 100+ vote lead on Chase Daniel? There seems no better way to piss on Davey's memory than to vote for a QB who can't throw a ball 20 yards or read a second option. Stupid Ags...
  14. Chris Simms, Chris Weinke, Mark Brunell and Drew Bledsoe insist that you can do both.
  15. He meant the fans - many of whom seem to not have bigger and better things in store for them.
  16. I've heard great things from the kids who played for him. He's a great hire for them and I hope he does well. At the very least, he can physically intimidate every coach in the Big 12 except for KSU's. And I guess Mike Mangina, but to be there, Big Gina is not quite a man and not quite two beasts. And yes, before you correct me, that is how everyone I know from KU refers to him.
  17. I don't know what this means, but I second the guarantee
  18. B+ and I get a D for using an emoticon.
  19. Everyone gets an F in reading comprehension
  20. I actually bought CFN today with the change left from my lunch. I'm taking it in a new direction... More balls.
  21. LSU fans are multiplying in Dallas too. I have a ton of co-workers with no affiliation which is making it harder for me to support my real friends who grew up breathing LSU football. I gloat to them and console the others. Spurrier is a big name right now because they realized he hates South Carolina and makes half of what Fran makes. The common justification: "people said Fran would never come here either." Whoever comes next though gets to ride Jerrod Johnson though and make the team look much better very quickly.
  22. Just wait until next year when we add Ghost Face Killa, the ghost of Ol' Dirty Bastard and Raekwon to our backfield. Wu Tang Clan ain't nothin' to f*** with!
  23. Sherman is an Ag and there are also rumors he'd bring Slocum back with him as the DC
  24. Norm broke this story this morning and cited his sources at A&M. No one else has verified it yet. But, it's Norm.
  25. Some people hate baseball; some people hate punctuation....some people hate constant...use...of ellipses... But we all love North Texas! Winning the NL seems to get easier every year - last year it took 83 wins, now it just takes 3-4 good weeks of baseball.
