  1. I did my damndest, but CNBC will not be covering the Mean Green this summer. I'm so jaded.
  2. Most of the DMN blogs are starting to blow out key comments or emails into full post to help create content. It's an easy way to keep things fresh while also filing stories, covering your beat and figuring out what else to cover on the blog.
  3. His logic has a hole in it the size of a ....ahhhh..... clever.
  4. They have a defense now (when not playing Texas!)
  5. This is a noble attempt, but sadly, we all know how this will end HINT: You are not the tanks
  6. At least you'll be spared the stories about what a great guy Bruce Bowen is in the community from the in-laws. Don't worry, if RV and Quinn RsVp no, you can have their spot.
  7. A player we all hated but decided to like at the last minute could head to San Antonio? I don't recall him flopping and kneeing folks during his Belt days, but maybe he's been showing something at his workouts. Where do I get a jersey?
  8. I just told a New York-based reporter visiting to do a long series on a client all about our proud history of this nickname. He asked me what I was talking about and calmly continued eating his sandwich. No one said this was going to be easy.
  9. Anyone ever see the clip of Chris Rock and Stephen Wright reading each other's material? That is good times.
  10. http://biz.yahoo.com/nytimes/080623/1194787839974.html?.v=1 Some analysts also see a lesser risk in a major publicly traded chain, the McClatchy Company, owner of The Miami Herald, The Kansas City Star, The Sacramento Bee and others, which said last week that its ad revenue was down 15.4 percent through the first five months of the year. The company announced plans to eliminate about 1,400 jobs, leaving it with 21 percent fewer employees than it had a year and a half ago. Some other newspaper chains had already made comparable cuts. [Note - these cuts include the recent ones at the Startlegram and the DMN dealt with theirs last year]
  11. They can show that now...even when it's softcore?
  12. Childhood consisted of my brother sneaking me up with him to listen to Eddie Murphy and George Carlin tapes. I can still recite the most random parts of both routines at the drop of a hat. We actually had a conversation on a road trip over the weekend about what kind of college activity lacrosse is and sang the "you don't got know ice cream" taunt song when we stopped at a DQ. I was a big Mitch Hedberg fan and got to meet him after a show in Addison a few years before he died. He was so nice, shy and probably trashed out of his mind. He could really keep the ball rolling live and you just never had a chance to recover - even with his lower grade material. I also loved Andy Kaufman's work growing up and I think the tendency to want to amuse only myself is definitely founded in following his life.
  13. Yay Brett - but don't get cocky, you'll be ripped again on the football board soon with your shiny blog and your opinions and what not....
  14. Maybe he's just in "the lost pile."
  15. Industrial student section?
  16. They had to steal her soul and give to Jenny Lewis after she made that song that was in every chick movies for about 2 years. Then she did a song that was used in WNBA commercials. Then she toured with Jason Mraz. HWC...
  17. If there were more than 5 Hispanics on the site you had to look in the virtual (brown) eye, I wonder how flippant you'd be. This entrenchment with racism underneath would be funny if it was actually meant to be. I'm not one of the bleeding heart liberals that usually are the only ones that counter you guys, but I really don't see how either side can take an extreme position on this crap and feel good about it. I like all you guys personally, but this section of the board has been like a nice window into the worst ideas of liberals and conservatives alike. I almost forgot, fluffy kitten joke.
  18. I've been staying away from these for months, but LOL. There is obviously a supernova of ingenuity blinding the other peons in the building.
  19. Maybe they didn't want to step on those hard-working talons... To clarify, I am referring to all student groups who have volunteered to solve this problem themselves. You can still flame me though.
  20. Fuel costs sending immigrants back to Mexico In other (fake) news, Farmers Branch quickly raised gas prices to $7 per gallon.
  21. This this point, I figured he could stay out of trouble.
  22. Our boss had us all read that article at work: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...1810315,00.html
  23. We're like Voltron. Tasty's that weird yellow dude that no one liked and the toy store always had too many of.
  24. For a known sodomite, Kobe sure has let a lot of team come from behind on him in big playoff games. First the Suns, then game 4 of this series... he needs to start focusing on what's in front of him more. Wait, was I even invited to this party?
