  1. You could do season tickets, a mean green club donation and a freaking billboard for less than the required seat donations at Texas and A&M. What a steal!
  2. I'm not questioning the money - I'm questioning the effectiveness. I could get a TY Sports blog billboard ordered tomorrow but would anyone give a crap? Next time you drive along I-35 or I-45, count how many empty billboards you see.
  3. Every school figures out its main posters - especially supporters and detractors - and keeps an eye on them - even the big ones. There is no giant effort or crackdown, but it becomes pretty obvious who is who over time. AD officials can then debate whether to give the person acknowledgment of their posts when they meet in person - but usually don't. I've never made a real effort to keep my identity a secret and love when people tell me that "so and so totally knows that's you on GMG," like they just cracked the Da Vinci code. If you post on this board, someone in the AD is making fun of you for something you have said, just said or will say. It happens and they may - gasp - never make the same comments when they see you in person. Now what happened at Utah State in 2003 and ULLAF that tipped the scales for you?
  4. The link requires registration - could you please educate me yourself?
  5. They didn't get on the cover of diversity magazine though. Total facial!
  6. That would be the ultimate NCAA admission that this is all only a business.
  7. Maybe SMU's overall program (for example, this year's #70 ranking in the directors cup) had something to do with it. Oh, and Rice was #88.
  8. Which one did you decide to enroll in or give money to? I mean - that's a lot of billboards!

  10. If I was a fan of another SBC school who had to listen to how NT owns the Belt for four years while simply bending over and taking it while the fans got cockier, I would be annoyed. If I was a fan of another SBC school who had to listen to how NT owns the Belt for four years and then rose up and beat NT, I would be ecstatic. If I was a fan of another SBC school who kept beating down an NT team that went 7-26 over a three year period while having their fans continue to explain how they deserve to be in a better conference, I wouldn't know whether to laugh, be pissed off, or just feel sorry for the people saying it.
  11. True - I miss tons of threads every weekend and when I travel and would appreciate them being reposted whenever I am here.
  12. We've been doing douche-spotting on TY Sports for a long time. It was even my halloween costume. Just clink the link in my sig and search "douche" and there will be a bounty of material. Sometimes we even share our findings with Bob...
  13. I hope everyone who runs around fuming about what the same 4-5 asshats on Ponyfans are saying all the time read SM's post and realizes, "hey, this is a good dude. I bet there are plenty of others like him." I will always enjoy teasing up the rivalry, but SM deserves some sort of spot in the "visiting fans who add a lot to the discussion" hall of fame.
  14. I was beginning to think the same thing - but lately there's been a Texas douche resurgence. I counted 14 at the Saturday night Roughriders game (8 with two or more Texas clothing items), there was one at a Twins home game yesterday and I am hearing reports of many more at the Rangers game tonight. It only seems like there are less Texas douches because there just aren't as many places to look.
  15. Maybe the sponsorship contracts are different
  16. Write Jamie Adams now and demand more of this during football and basketball games. Write him as many times as you can until he gets the message. Make the band learn it and add another fourth quarter sing-along. Every wants an identity, here's your chance.
  17. Was this an intentional set up?
  18. Yeah - but have you seen the construction on Mockingbird? Traveling in that sucks too. I bet it is all part of JJ's master plan...
  19. That's a very solid screw post.
  20. I actually care a lot about politics and world issues, but my problem is that for every good point, there are 10 political party talking points thrown up in slightly paraphrased form. It's hard to read that and not want to take a shot at it. I snapped at you because I misinterpreted a post - my apologies. These threads are win-win for me - I either get easy target content to keep me occupied why the football board continues in its offseason abyss or I learn something and think about it on my own.
  21. Good stuff. I think there needs to be some kind of formal society of NT bloggers since it is so few and far between - or at least a master list of everyone who covers anything NT related. Maybe we could call ourselves "The Brett Vito Society of Gentlemen."
  22. See - that is the question we have right now. If we could only get shoes or some clue to tip us off to the identity, that would help us form a conclusion. We might need to convince someone to step up and be a turd burglar for everyone's sanity. On a side note, we also have a weird layout to our office where the bathroom can cut you through the middle of the office quicker, which I think leads to more problems and awkward detection incidents. Finally, I am hoping today is the day to give the work poop site a try.
  23. Especially if they are sarcastic points but everyone takes them so seriously that their panties bunch up and chaff their cracks because deep down we all know that winning the war of words on the secret member NT message board will fix AMERICA and keep it safe and healthy for all AMERICANS! I mean, you realize you are one of the 5 or 6 people we just agreed about, right? It doesn't make us love you less, but I just want to make sure we are all on the same page.
