I think your plan is what both sides want - but the biggest obstacle to it is a pilot's union that has gone bat shit crazy. Meanwhile, US Airways pilots union is calling every station up and down the east coast seeing who will bite on the rumors that flights don't have enough fuel to make routine trips. Then, when that doesn't work, they just buy ads. Luckily, they never understood the true power of billboards. If they had, the entire aviation industry would already be shut down. It'd be like 9/11 times a billion.

World Cup Qualification Game

Or maybe you'll win one at our lowest point and never shut up about it when you have home court at the 2012 Premiball World Championships in Athens. -
I just hope Coach Do blogs about this soon!

You're just mad and bitter you didn't get to go to their secret MENSA meetings because you aren't smart enough. -

Wanna start a league? You can be in charge of the Houston team. We still need 10 more to sign up. Could the admins please pin this? -
I agree with you on the level-headed remark for sure. It's not even close. I am wondering about the fuel requirements though since there are a few airlines where fuel reserves have become a contract issue. Many guys are allegedly over-fueling to make a point and then promising to scale back and save money when and only when they get their contract gains. The pilots then play it as a PR battle that the airline doesn't want to store enough fuel (when FAR requirements are already in place by the FAA.) Since I never get to peel back the curtain and see anything except the management angle, I'm just wondering what you think about all that. It's also weird to be hijacking a thread without making a sex joke.

My sarcasm wasn't a target at you, Mr. Dub (since you're a big boy moderator now.) I actually have an undergraduate degree that I mostly consider a checked box on a job application more than anything else. It was not hard to get and 95% of what I learned I don't use in my career or even personal life. I had professors more interested in getting back to graduate students and research than they were in teaching me the why's or how's behind their power points and I still shake my head at that. It's the biggest reason I didn't pursue a doctorate after my master's - my priorities wouldn't line up with the overall university system (especially in the field I would have entered) and I knew I would get frustrated if I put my role as a teacher first. The experience is not limited to NT by any means, but there does not seem to be too many schools - public or private - willing to break the cycle. So instead of shaping the minds of tomorrow or changing the world, I just write a blog about Stephen Hawking and North Texas to deal with my angst in my free time.

When I get confronted by someone who attacks something important to me through exaggeration and hyperbole, I often retaliate with an even more exaggerated and hyperbolic response of something they care about. It's obvious from his post that JD loves baseball... Wait, he never mentioned baseball at all? Seriously? Well scissor me timbers! And honestly, a batter working a 10 pitch count is pretty damn impressive. If it helps, I watched the second half of Brazil/Portugal on Tuesday and saw 3 goals! That's 21 points in football terms and 56789 points in premi-ball, a game I made up where I dunk on a 5 foot rim while swearing at the poor kids in the premi-ward at Parkland. I thought it was a little ragged, but enjoyed Brazil's obvious frustration and inability to handle Portugal. Its progress I guess. -
Wow - and both definitions are equally solid. That explains why that SMU sig ep never called me back - I never realized how degrading that was for him.

I'm glad Dodgefan is fired up for our big season this year! I can't wait to Coach Jones and his new schemes! After his ballsy QB move, it is clear he is the man! Pony up guys! Hooray!

I thought this was going to be another thread about how we are falling behind on fund raising...what a nice surprise.

Patrick Cobbs Beating Out Ronnie Brown?

Bravo sir. Ironically, Joey Byerly did my homework. -
And I need to clarify one important point from yesterday as well - Richard Justice is an idiot hack who has taken the Tim MacMahon page view approach of riling up each fan base one at a time at the expense of useful content. There's a great Houston blog by Tom Kirkendall that not only deals with all things Houston, but dedicates a lot of time to ripping Justice. Here's the latest example: http://blog.kir.com/archives/2008/08/richard_justice_6.asp

http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/archi...there_have.html The comments take this sarcastic masterpiece seriously - giving Texas Douches everywhere a new rallying work of prose they are too stupid to realize makes fun of everything they are about. My favorite comes from Longhorn Kristin -- hook 'em grammar! Can't wait to see this moving ceremony in person!

I saw a clown in 3 shades of green with a banana hanging out of his pocket offering free private piggyback rides to kids if they took his "buy season tickets to see the Mean Green" flyers near Carl's Corner. Great exposure...literally and figuratively.
